Phew, it was close this week! Mrs F & I got the last plane outta NYC just as Sandy arrived, Arsenal have just made Houdini look ordinary and a Tomkins injury time goal at Wigan secured Jon Tofeili 40(8) a £20 weekly win sneaking past Tony M! And he only just got his scores in on time! Well done Jonny boy – Geordie champagne all round?!

Well, that didn’t take long did it? New mum Louise Briggs 9(0) has all those sleepless nights & nappy changes to blame for a shocker!

Correct Score of the Week:

Good stuff people, good stuff… – most popular score was Villa’s 1-1 with Norwich – 30 of you got that!

10 got the 0-0 at the Britannia and Harry B / Felix H / Olly O got the super Eagles 1-2 v Leicester City.

Four got the “Desmond” between Hearts & Ross Co., 14 got the controversial score draw at Goodison and 7(!) got the 2-3 between the Chavs and the Homewreckers Mk II.

Paul Car got Cardiff 4 Burnley 0, Tony b got St Mirren’s 0-1 against Dundee U and El Presidente got Man City’s modest win over Swansea…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Reda Allam for his inspired Barnsley 1 Nottm Forest 4. Oh, this is also the new best correct score of the season beating the last one Reda posted a few weeks ago!

Week 5 scoresheets back by 19.44 on Friday – please note that reminders may well be limited as I’ll be NYC regaling the merits of PAS to Bob Stanley whilst playing some records to native New Yorkers…

Looks like we’ve lost Matt G (anyone know his whereabouts?!) so Dave T may be getting a bonus wildcard entry into PAS CL…

“To prove I’m right”:

Oooh it was a right ol’ ding-dong for top spot this week with the top eight separated by just 3 points! And, we couldn’t split the top two! Ryan Graves & Paul Campbell 35 (6) just nicked in front of Tony B, Anders H & Paul V making it an old skool/nu skool double earning them £10 each. Well done chaps, been a long time since Man Yoo & Liverpool have been joint top…

“Don’t cry”:

It’s dark days being a Arsenal fan at the moment (well, this week) what with The Ox pulling up sharp and the imminent meeting with the still prolific RVP… even darker then for, my-Norwich-mate-got-me-playing-PAS, Stuart Fitzsimon 8(0)…

Blimey, very spartan this week – most popular score was Sunderland 1 Newcastle Utd 1 – 29 of you got that! Howay!

The now gutted Steve P & Steve T got Chelski’s 2-4 v Sp*rs and Rowan M, Andy C, Nick H somehow guessed Bolton’s 3-2 against Bristol City. Craig B & Paul V got the 2-2 between Palace and The Scum…

This doing-your-scores-in-double-quick-time-and-not-paying-attention-to-them malarkey is really catching on… Rob Currin 47 (6) did his scores, filed them away, moved house, played footy and then watched with glee as Poland secured a 1-1 draw to help him inch past Kate H to win this week’s £20 – well done Roberto, I’ll be keeping that “apple” for the Schalke ticket yeah?!

“Picking up the rubbish”:

A bit like his team, Reda Allam 17(0) swings from the sometimes sublime to the mainly ridiculous. This week, like “Being Liverpool”, it’s ridiculous…

You’d think scoring 38 points would secure a weekly win wouldn’t you? But no, Jamie T, it doesn’t. So, then you’d think getting 41 points would win you £20 yeah? Well no, actually, Dave C & Steve M (who do you support btw?!). It’s about being even better than that! Paul Vinson 50 (8) pulled out a fine tally and maintains his perennial record of early weekly wins. Well done Paul, it’ll take some beating…

Oh dear! The 30 second flash scoring method will need a rethink as Michelle Fernandez 11 (0) brings shame to our faaaamlee name. If she was Scouse, the armbands would be out next week…
