Sixy Beast…
If you felt like you had a good chance of winning this week (yes, Frankie did her own scores this week…), unfortunately, you were probably way off the mark!
It was a stretched-out week with a whopping thirty players scoring over 30 points AND 7 punters scoring over forty points… and they were all very much on the mark!
All vying for the £20 prize right to the end…
Mark S landed 9 Toon points & new kid in town, Stanley M got an early lesson on why you should predict on every game (but TBF, he did pick up a correct score from the two games he missed!)
Sam O was another youngster to miss 2 games (but pick up 5 points) but then got robbed by Spurs & a Fernandez whilst Deepak B was praising a Fernandez and that 95th minute consolation for Inverness AND also got 5 points from 2 missed games – phew!
Still with us…
Good.
Emma T racked up 21 correct results & seven correct scores that included that 5 pointer at Inverness.
That left two out front.
Jason M amassed an incredible 23 correct results (I trust you had a big acca in Jay?!) and seven correct scores that benefitted from last gasp goals for Spurs & Ipswich Town.
However, despite being robbed by a Fernandez last night AND missing FIVE games, new kid on the block Mike Cass 47 (9) roared home courtesy of those missed games giving him the 2 correct scores that got him over the line.
Wowsers.
The self proclaimed “Darling of Darlo” is living up to the hype – game on ladies & gents. game on!
“Icky Thump”:
Meanwhile…
Four poor souls scored 15 points or less at the other end.
3 didn’t register a correct score.
Gareth Morgan 13 (0) must be feeling a bit Kanesy right now…
Correct Score of the Week:
Woe is me…most popular score was Leicester’s 1-2 win at Watford – 31 of youse got that!
Twenty eight got the 3 goal demolition of Rotherham Utd by Leeds Utd
15 got the 1-3 Hibees win over Inverness C T in the Scottish Cup
Fifteen more felt Fergie vibes when that Enzo F 94th minute goal secured a 5 pointer 1-3 at Palace
14 had Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Burnley
Thirteen got Ipswich’s last minute “Desmond” with WBA
10 were grateful for the 3-1 Mackem win over the Pilgrims
Six nailed QPR 2 Norwich City 2
6 more obviously guessed Toon would beat Forest 2-3
Five believed in Blackburn. A 3-1 kinda belief…
Darren McC & Rowan M nabbed the form book upsetting Fulham 3 Bournemouth 1
Damian W was well away with the 1-2 away win for Bristol City at Boro
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Stanley Marriott for his I-might-only-be-9-but-i’m-gonna-be-so-good-at-this-game inspired, Cardiff City 0 Preston North End 2!
Bet of the Week:
Stuart Fitzsimon was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 1 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.
And guess what?!
“I’ve gone for three away wins:
I have to go for The Arsenal, right? Firstly because I continue to play predict-a-score with my heart over my head, but also because West Ham are due some measure of comeuppance for that turgid yet lucky display at ours back in December. So Arsenal away at West Ham.
So, £12.08 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd – what a start!
David Goggin & Jazz Sian are at 60th this week….The King was first out the hat, so…
J, I need your 3 team treble by Friday morning, please!
Can you follow that performance?
Bring the halcyon days back fella!
Table News:
“My Doorbell”:
All change at the top, Mike Cass goes up one place, opening up a lead of 11 points ahead of Jason M who, in turn, is two correct scores ahead of John J in third…
Six crashed the Top Ten!
“I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself“:
All change at the bottom, Gary Mitchell slides 5 places to the basement slot, two points behind Tim P who, in turn, is two points adrift of Thomas S…
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 72 places is Emma Tudor – honourable mentions go to Jason M (+39), Stanley M (+45), Ric P (+43), Deepak B (+71), Sam O (+57), Damian W (+38), Matthew M (+34) and Rob C (+25).
“The Hardest Button To Button”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 54 places is Pete Britton – dishonourable mentions go to Jamie S (-35), Greg F (-41), Simon Linds (-38), Matthew S (-43), Paul F (-35), and Gareth M (-41)
