PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’24 Week 3 round up

“In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.”

It Ain’t What You Do, It’s The Way That You Do It:

International Week – dontchajustluvit??!

“From despair to where” seemed to be the theme of the week as almost everyone was caught on the hop by the first 10 or so fixtures…

Twenty two punters fared well though by scoring 30 points or more, and there was proper scrap to take ownership of the £20 weekly prize.

Andy B, Olly O & Matthew E (welcome!) pushed hard and recently drowsy Jason M finally woke up only to see the Swiss let him down.

Jack B will be cursing Portugal, Denmark and that 94th minute equaliser at Chesterfield as he ended up missing out by a single point.

That left it wide open for a quite remarkable win.

The trait of “forgetting” do some scores paid dividends last season – and it continues into this one it seems…

Stuart Fitzsimons 38 (6) not only “missed” 20 games from his scoresheet, the 10 he did predict on saw him haul in 5 correct scores including 4 x five pointers!

Unbelievable Geoff…

Congrats Gooner, you’ll understand if I “forget” to send the twenty quid over, yeah?!

The Super Six

Assists

P Mantalos (90′ + 1) – Greece

Cruel Summer:

The good news?

Everyone scored double-digit tallies…again! Well done us!

The bad?

12 people scored fifteen points or less.

Five remained correct score-less.

It was a bad week for those whose name begins or ends with Le(e).

Leo Clarke (welcome!) & Norman Lee 10 (0) you’re both on the naughty step this week.

Must try harder…

Correct Score of the Week:

Begone Satan…most popular score was Les Bleus’s 1-2 win in Belgium – 34 of us got that!

Twenty three just knew Poland would score against Portugal for a 1-3

19 got 3 goal demolition of Serbia by Spain

Eighteen got the very annoying 94th minute spoiling Chesterfield 2 Notts County 2

15 were well away with the 1-3 away win for the exiting Lee Carsley in Finland

Eleven clocked my expert 0-0 “heads up” on What’s App and put just that for Liechtenstein v Gibraltar

10 landed on the two-two in Switzerland

Ten more nailed Italy 2 Belgium 2

9 banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt Iceland & Wales

Six turned up Belarus 0 Norn Iron 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there…

4 somehow stumbled on Italy 4 Israel 1 (how????)

Ryan G sensibly predicted the quite sensible Germany 1 Netherlands 0

However, this week’s best correct score, goes to Debbie Lee for her I-wanna-wave-to-Norman-from-up-here-but-can’t-quite-see-him-down-there inspired, Barrow 0 Morecambe 1!

Bet of the Week:

Gary R was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 2 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Whoop whoop! First winner of the season!

“Total punt on 3 aways wins in League 2!”

Swindon @ Cheltenham – in!

Grimsby @ Salford – in!

Newport @ Harrogate – not in!

So, £6.18 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th – bravo senor!

Another new boy, Jonathas Moitas is at 45th this week…

Jonny, I need your 3 team selection by Friday lunchtime, please!

Another winner would be luvverly…

Table News:

Really Saying Something”:

Olly Osmond hoofs it up 3 places to the summit to go 4 points ahead of Laura H who, in turn, is one correct score ahead of Rob C in third.

Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)”:

Norman Lee crashes twenty five places to anchor the table, 1 point adrift of Lee T, who, in turn, is 1 point behind Bijay L…
