PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’24 Week 5 round up

Outrageous…

Crystalised:

There was were was were over 33% of fixtures that had goals scored in the 90th minute or later this week.

Yeah.

Really. (11, count ’em!)

Just about everyone was affected one way or another. Yep. Really. (net loss of 6 points for me – grrr)

So who benefitted then?

Thirteen players scored 30 points or more this week – well done youse!

The contenders?

Tim P was in nosebleed territory and has Wolves & Everton to thank for denying him the £20 weekly prize (at least ETH has gone now though, Timmy!)

Ben McK went really close courtesy of 92 minute “Correct Score of the Season” goal…

And that left a “The Syndicate” duo to duke it out for top honours.

A resurgent Tony M (remember him?) had a Super Sunday bar one crucial result that had the irony/coincidental debate police on full alert.

Richard Hirst 40 (7) matched his old mucker Tony blow for blow with an array of last kick correct scores, but it was the 92nd minute penalty at West Ham that sealed it for him!

Congrats Tricky, imagine Man Yoo doing over one of their own, eh?!

The Sweet Seven

Assists

N Clark (90′) – St Johnstone

Beto (90′ + 4) – Everton

Bowen (90′ + 2 pen) – West Ham

Teardrops:

Did you get stung by the added-on time mayhem this week?!

14 punters floundered on fifteen points or less.

Eight of them couldn’t muster a correct score.

Spoiler: no one had a single digit tally!

Propping up the rest this week were Elliot Davy & Rob Currin 10(0)

Ooof!

And just for the record (and a degree of sympathy – we’re nice like that), those late goals cost Elliot 8 (1) and Rob 12 (2)!

Go have a beer boys!

Correct Score of the Week:

My word…most popular score was Bromley’s last gasp 1-1 draw with Barrow – 29 of us got that!

Twenty landed on the two-two in North London on Sunday. The right side of North London…

17 were all over the 0-3 to the Celtic

Six revelled in the schadenfreude of Charlton’s late late show against Wrexham

Will O & Gary R (welcome!) lapped up the injury time joy of Brighton 2 Wolves 2

Danny B nabbed the form book upsetting Crystal Palace 1 Spurs 0

Kate S got the dull-all at Ashton Gate

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season goes to Ben McKeown for his I-couldn’t-be-any-further-away-from-Devon-but-us-Geordies-see-everything-man inspired, Plymouth Argyle 3 Preston North End 3!

Bet of the Week:

Chris D was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 4 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

“If Coldplay were playing in my back garden, I’d close the curtains.  But despite that, I’m going all ‘Yellow’ with this sure-fire winning selection…”

It went brown…

Norwich City to win v Middlesbrough – nope, but some comeback though!
Watford to win v Blackburn Rovers – yep
Oxford United to draw v Sunderland – nope. The Mackems looking good so far!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd – oh well…

Orla McK, Simon T & Mr 2-0 are at 83rd this week…first out the hat was Simon!

Mr Goalscorer Challenge, I need your 3 selections by Friday lunchtime, please!

Let’s get back on board please Si…
