PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’24 Week 9 round up

It’s Tottenham…

If You Were There”:

When your luck’s in, yer luck’s in!

There were 9 matches with added-on time goal drama.

Your luck’s in if you max out on 33% of them.

Your luck’s really in if two of those games knock out your nearest rivals for the £20 weekly prize…

Your luck really isn’t in if Willy Gnoto spoils a 3-3 in the 91st minute and Antoine Semenyo rattles the bar instead of equalising in the 93rd.

Only a fab four managed to score 30 points or more this week.

Yeah.

That kinda week.

Ben H continues to defy the odds after finishing 93rd last season & Paul C bagged 95th & 96th minute correct scores only to be done over by dirty Leeds…

Damian W pushed all the way with a 93rd & 94th minute brace of correct scores, only for ‘Wall to spoil the party against Sunderland in the 93rd minute.

So that left Tony Morris 35 (6) sitting pretty for the second week running with barely a look back (still not going say it…) to see where his sibling might be.

Congrats T, at least we know who “Noel” is now!

The Swaggering Six

Assists

  1. Gray (96′) – Watford
  2. Brooks (93′) – Bournemouth
  3. Azeez (93′) – Millwall

This Old Heart Of Mine”:

Get caught short this week?

You did well if you didn’t, it was utter carnage…

Thirty six players scored less than 15 points as the hangover from International Week lingered on.

17 (SEVENTEEN) punters failed to notch a correct score!

Fourteen didn’t make double digits (Mr 2-0 naysayers take note!)

The walk of shame?

That’s with Reagon Karki 6 (0).

Can I suggest the (German) Christmas markets for a steinkrug or six, R?

Correct Score of the Week:

All hail Desmond…most popular score was PNE’s 1-1 draw with Derby – 29 of us got that!

Eight doffed a cap to Arsenal’s 3-0 deconstruction of Nottm Forest

6 got WBA’s “Desmond” with Norwich City

Five nailed Coventry 2 Sheff Utd 2

5 more banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt Plymouth & Watford

Four (!) somehow stumbled on Hearts 1 Celtic 4 (how??? The what? 94th min goal? Oh…)

Mike K, Laura H & Matthew E we’re so happy for Aston Villa 2-2 Palace they will actually wear that ballet dress…

Stuart F & Lily T had their secret prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at Goodison

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Carter for his I-love-summer-doing-my-scores-whilst-flippin-prawns-and-necking-Swans inspired, Southampton 2 Liverpool 3!

Bet of the Week:

Dan H was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 8 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

It could’ve been so good…but, no.

“3 correct scores – high risk, high reward!”

Man Utd to win 1-2 – could’ve

Rangers to win 2-0 – should’ve

QPR to draw 1-1 – was!

So, £0 is added to “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd leaving it on £0 – oops!

Emma Tudor is at 83rd this week…

Mizz T, I need your 3 selections by Friday lunchtime, please!

We need this! Make it a good ‘un (Everton? Wrexham? Gee-gees?)

Table News:

It’s Your Thing”:

Hira Yonzan is still at the summit 13 points ahead of Ben “Lazarus” H who, in turn, is three points ahead of Ryan G in third.

Two crashed the Top Ten.

Behind A Painted Smile”:

Leo Clarke stays rooted in the basement slot 7 points adrift of Stephen P, who, in turn, is 3 points behind Lee T…

Highways Of My Life”:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 32 places is Damian Walsh – honourable mentions go to Tony M (+18), Andy B (+19), Dan C (+20), and Paul C (+28).

Work To Do”:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 20 places is Laura Harrison – dishonourable mentions go to Tim P (-15), Mark J B (-15), Thomas S (-15), Chris D (-15), Dan W (-16), Gary R (-15) and Richard H (-16).

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’24 Week 8 round up

International Week is just so boring now…

Up The Bracket:

Is there anything better than squaring up & smashing your sibling especially when it’s a bit contentious to boot?

Coming on like the PAS version of Oasis, the “Syndicate” brothers duked it out for the £20 weekly prize in a field that only had ten players scoring 30 points or more.

Chris D and Neil M threatened briefly with a late surge courtesy of a 10 pointer, but then just slid away (Neil is probably regretting missing the first four games too!).

So that left our brothers to sort it.

Jason M could only look back (no, i’m not going to say it…) and feel aggrieved as two added-on time goals denied him the family and PAS bragging rights.

Tony Morris 41 (6) on the other hand, had two added-on time goals to thank for his victory – wonderwallful!

The Surging Six

Assists

N.Nanni (91′ pen) – San Marino

D. Adu-Adjei (92′) – Carlisle Utd

What A Waster:

First the good news.

Everyone managed to hit double figures!

And…

Fourteen punters scored 15 points or less.

Nine of those didn’t register a correct score.

Propping up the table this week is new kid on the block, Leo Clarke 11 (0).

Don’t worry Leo, proper football is back now!

Correct Score of the Week:

“This Nations League has ruined everything”…most popular score was Sweden’s 2-1 win over Slovakia – 31 of us got that!

Eight quite rightly predicted Norway’s 5-0 thrashing of Kazakhstan

David G & Norman L just knew Italy would score against France for a 1-3

Ben McK & Chris D thrilled at the thrilling Netherlands 4 Hungary 0

Neil M & Chris D (again!) had Sweden’s merciless 6-0 deconstruction of Azerbaijan

Matthew S had Israel’s 1-0 win over Belgium

Anders H nailed Bosnia 1 Netherlands 1

Danny B saw his typo come good on the game in Liechtenstein v San Marino

Paul F believed in Lee. A 0-3 in Greece kinda belief…

Matt W believed in Lee. A 5-0 over Ireland kinda belief…

Roshan T thanked the Lord for Bryan Zaragoza and his 93rd minute penalty conversion

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Best Correct Score of the Season, goes to Dave Crisp for his I-trust-the-process-and-I-know-Kai-does-too-and-he-knows-Leroy inspired, Germany 7 Bosnia-Herzegovina 0!

Bet of the Week:

Simon B was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 7 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

We “won” – well done Si!

“Over 2.5 goals

Belgium v Italy – under

Norway v Kazakhstan – over

Czechia v Georgia – over”

So, £1.66 is added to “Bet of the Week” slot 45th taking it to £4.66 – healthy!

Dan Hogwood is at 33rd this week…

Dan, I need your 3 selections by Friday lunchtime, please!

Crunch those stats my son!

Table News:

Don’t Look Back Into The Sun”:

Hira Yonzan stays top 15 points ahead of Ryan G who, in turn, is five points ahead of Ben H in third.

Four crashed the Top Ten.

Can’t Stand Me Now”:

Leo Clarke slips one place to the bottom 10 points adrift of Lee T, who, in turn, is 2 correct scores behind Bijay L…

I Get Along”:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 42 places is Tony Morris – honourable mentions go to Ben McK (+23), Jason M (+30), El Presidente (+27), Chris D (+35), and Neil T (+22).

What Became Of The Likely Lads”:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 22 places is Charlie Harris – dishonourable mentions go to Reagon K (-16), Thomas S (-18), Dom W (-20), and Dan H (-18).

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’24 Week 7 round up

Should’ve had a Red Bull mate…

The Man Who Stole A Leopard:

Just when I thought another bizarre week of scoring was on the cards, we returned to “normal” service…

Twenty one punters righted last week’s wrongs by posting scores of over 30 points.

7 went to forty and beyond – bravo!

Newbie Lee P applied PAS approved tactics & smashed in 2 x 9 pointers!

Andy F didn’t miss missing 4 games and was warmly assisted by 2 x 90+4 minute penalties!

Resurgent Ryan G was similarly recompensed by late late goals!

George T confirmed his return to form by snaffling up eight correct scores (and some how didn’t win!)!

In a cruel twist of fate to the chasing pack, Gareth Morgan 47 (6) had the temerity to miss thirteen games, nail a 9 pointer and have Mr 2-0 as an able assistant to claim this week’s £20 prize!

Congrats G, bet that latest AngeBall mishap doesn’t smart as much now, eh?!

The Steady Six

Assists

Mr 2-0

Save A Prayer:

Meanwhile on planet Earth…

Only five players scored 15 points or less this week.

6 PASers didn’t notch a correct score (spare a thought, if only fleeting, for Stephen P…)

Only one didn’t get into double figures though.

Neil Critchlow 9 (0) will be even more crest fallen after what happened in Brighton…

Correct Score of the Week:

Impressive…most popular score was Millwall’s 1-1 draw at Stoke – 28 of youse got that!

Fourteen got the 3 goal demolition of Leicester by Man Yoo

10(!) made us all green by happening upon Brentford 3-2 Bournemouth

Five felt Fergie vibes when a 92nd minute goal secured a 5 pointer 3-0 for Dundee Utd

5 more decided to deploy catenaccio to reap the rewards at West Ham. And they did…

Four(!!) put us all to shame by predicting Brighton 2 Man City 1

Darren McC, Dave C & Paul C got the 1-3 Blackburn win over Cardiff

Norman L & Thomas S will shout out loud about the humbling of Spurs by Ipswich

Justin C & Laura H were well away with the 1-3 away win for Toon at Forest

Lee P & Mike K somehow stumbled on Aberdeen 4 Dundee 1 (how????)

Jonathas M just knew Watford would keep a clean sheet for a 1-0 against Oxford

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Louis Williams for his I-knew-Pompey-would-play-up-sooner-or-later inspired, Portsmouth 3 Preston N E 1!

Bet of the Week:

Sam A was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 6 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He went gee-gee and…

It was a no-no.

Doncaster

11.45 – Onemorenomore – agghhh, 8th!

12.15 – Capotes Dream – ooooh, 2nd!

14.00 – Station X – 1st!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th – unlucky Sam, would’ve been good if that came in!

Simon Buxton is at 45th this week…

Mr B, I need your 3 selections by Friday lunchtime, please!

Let’s have a winner please Si!

Table News:

My Own Way”:

Hira Yonzan remains at the summit 17 points ahead of Ryan G who, in turn, is fifteen points ahead of Ben H in third. Some gap that…

Three crashed the Top Ten.

Is There Something I Should Know?”:

Lee Taylor is still in the basement slot, but now only 6 points adrift of Leo C, who, in turn, is 2 points behind Stephen P…

Hungry Like The Wolf”:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 42 places is Gareth Morgan – honourable mentions go to Lee P (+31), George T (+41), Danny B (+27), Nick H (+24), and Danny A (+38).

Skin Trade”:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 29 places is Will Oppong – dishonourable mentions go to Sam A (-22), Chris D (-23), Simon Linds (-21), Rowan M (-22), David G (-22), Pete C (-24), Thomas S (-24), and Roshan T (-22).

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’24 Week 6 round up

The Don Dadas…

Mr Pharmacist:

Gobsmacked.

The What’s App group was alight with horror stories of having an absolute ‘mare in Week 6.

Usually, it’s people on 27 (4) realising that they shouldn’t have trusted Arsenal as yet another red card is brandished with an hour to go…

But this week. It. Was. Real.

Only one punter scores over 30 points this week.

Yep, one.

When you’re luck is in, it’s in.

So much in, you can forget about the Cardiff spoiling your weekend in the 93rd minute as the £20 weekly spoils are all yours…

Ben Hogwood 36 (7) defied the curse of the Friday night correct score and then collected 10 points from the last 4 games, of which, nine came courtesy of added-on time goals.

And when was the last time VAR was your friend too?!

Mustard Ben, mustard…

The Surprising Seven

Assists

Mateta (90′ + 6 ) – VAR

Dalby (90′ pen) – Dundee Utd

Wilson (90′ + 2 & 90′ + 7) – Fulham

Totally Wired:

Unchartered territory here too.

54 <FIFTY FOUR> punters flopped with fifteen points or less this week.

Twenty one <21> didn’t register a correct score!

12 <TWEL-i’ll stop now> couldn’t get into double figures…

Repping in the Hall of Shame this week were Simon Lindquist, Danny Bushell & Tony Morris 6(0)

Wowsers.

Correct Score of the Week:

Would you Adam n Believe it…most popular score was Fulham’s outrageous last gasp 2-1 win over Brentford – 28 of youse got that!

Twenty four got Leeds 3 Plymouth 0

13 snaffled up the 5 points served up by VAR Wolves & Palace

Dom W & Paul F celebrated the bore draw between St Mirren & Ross County

Dave N & Martin S had their secret prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at St James’s Park, Newcastle, Exeter, Brackley

David M knew that Toon would beat Arsenal 1-0 again. This time fairly & squarely…

Martin S (again!) doffed a cap to Forest’s 3-0 deconstruction of West Ham

Dan H got very annoying last minute spoiling Dundee 3 Kilmarnock 2

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season goes to Norman Lee for his you-have-to-feel-for-them-with-all-their-woes-injures-limited squad-tiredness-as-they-didn’t-stand-a-chance-against-the-might-of-The-Cherries inspired, AFC Bournemouth 2 Manchester City 1!

Bet of the Week:

Simon T was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 5 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Ambitious, but…

Sunderland to win by 2+ goals at QPR – it was 0-0
Bradford to win by 3+ goals v Aldershot – close!
Liverpool v Brighton 4+ goals in the game – close again but…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd – good for you Si, we like bets like that (but I spose we like money posted up more!)

Chris D, Pete B & Sam A are at 60th this week…first out the hat was Sam!

Mr A, I need your 3 selections by Friday lunchtime, please!

Are you gonna go gee-gees?!

Table News:

Victoria”:

Hira Yonzan stays top 19 points ahead of Matthew S who, in turn, is nine points ahead of Ryan G in third.

Three crashed the Top Ten.

Lost In Music”:

Lee Taylor remains rooted to the bottom, now 13 points adrift of Bijay L, who, in turn, is 2 points behind Paul V…

Hit The North”:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 51 places is Ben Hogwood – honourable mentions go to Howard T (+20), Harry H (+37), Ric P (+22), Pete C (+41), David M (+23), George T (+23), and Eddie O (+24)

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 28 places is Tony Morris – dishonourable mentions go to Anders H (-20), Danny B (-22), and Simon Lindq(-23).
