PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’25 Week 3 round up

Football?! Nah mate, it’s rugby season…

Superstylin’:

It was a lively Week 3 right up to late on Monday night.

A tightly contested field was bunched together as 19 punters reached & breached the 30 point mark.

But only 4 could have won it, tbh…

Darren McC was right up there courtesy of a 10 pointer & an eight pointer, Lily T was back to her best not not quite “best” enough and Simon B was right there with help from Millwall’s 95th minute winner and the 101st minute goal at the Hawthorns!

Then came the late late goal-fest in south Yorkshire…

That 91st minute 3rd goal for Leeds really did rob Simon as his correct score disappeared and kept Kate Slee 38 (7) on top after a very nervy wait!

A very Happy Monday for Mrs S collecting the weekly £20 prize.

Well done Peter Kate – a sliver of a silver lining for one Gooner at least this week…

The Satisfying Seven

Assists

J Coburn (90′ + 5) – Millwall

O Dabbagh (90′ + 1) – Aberdeen

Save My Soul:

Oooof!

A mere 4% of the runners and riders failed to notch up any more than fifteen points this week.

Four of those suffered the ignominy of collecting zero correct scores…but please spare a thought for Sam W, poor lad.

Feeling the pain particularly pressing with a single figure return?

Alan Clarke 6 (0)

Good luck at the family dinner A!

Correct Score of the Week:

Sparse…most popular score was Heart of Midlothian’s 1-2 win at St Johnstone – 34 of us got that!

Seven got Everton’s “Desmond” with Man Yoo

4 said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for their Ross Co 3 Dundee 1

Lily T, Emma T & Anthony R (welcome!) were well away with the 1-3 away win for Leeds

Stephen P, Darren McC & David G just knew Brighton would keep a clean sheet for a o-4 at Southampton

Darren McC (again!) & Rob C lapped up the injury time joy of Norwich 4 Stoke 2

However, this week’s best correct score goes to ………no-one-had-a-unique-correct-score-which-is-rare!

Bet of the Week:

Olly Osmond was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 2 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

“For this week’s bet I’m going for 3 seaside wins”
Bournemouth – more like Blackpool…
Brighton – blue flag!
Plymouth – docked…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th – boooo!

Andy Kelly & newbie Seb De Sousa are at 45th this week….first out the hat was Andy!

Mr K, I need your 3 team treble by Friday morning, please!

Can you get us back to winning ways?

Table News:

Love Sweet Sound:

Nick Hogwood stays top, 7 points ahead of Paul V who, in turn, is four points ahead of Ben H in third…

Three crashed the Top Ten!

I See You Baby:

All change at the bottom, Howard Thomas slides 4 places to the bottom, ten points behind Matthew M who, in turn, is one point adrift of Mike K

I Won’t Kneel:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 37 places is Kate Slee – honourable mentions go to Darren McC (+27), Peter M (+27), Matt W (+33), Dickie H (+26), Lily T (+34), and Will O (+30).

“Get Down”:

Twitter is dead & so is Instagram – but we’ve got a What’s App group!

Wanna join?

Why?

Well, I send round reminders that you don’t have to check your email for.

Erm…some people are quite funny (some are annoying) & hopefully, we’ll get some good pics of away fans at games.

We will crush any “hilarious GIFs” though…

Plus, you can gloat when you land that 9 pointer in the 91st minute!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’25 Week 2 round up

A “Wolf Fox in the Box” in sheep’s clothing…

Photoshop Handsome:

If you felt like you had a good chance of winning this week, ummmm, you probably thought wrong!

It was a kinda condensed week with an impressive twenty-three players scoring over 30 points AND 1 punter scoring over forty points… and they were very much on the mark!

And all vying for the £20 prize right to the end…

New kid in town, Seb De S smashed in a couple of 5 pointers and our man in Scandinavia, Anders H, upped the ante notching 3 x five pointers.

Paul V was looking good with 20 points from 4 games (with some added-on time assists to boot) whilst Jonathas M didn’t need any on them fancy scores, instead reaping rewards from goals beyond the 90 minute mark to go close!

Still with us…

Good.

Paul & Jonathas were ultimately undone by placing their faith in Man Yoo and Paliss respectively…

So that left Elliot Davy 41 (8) a good way in front – nicely cemented by Leeds 95th minute winner in the 30th game to get him safely over the line.

Now there’s something to phone home about E! Congrats!

The Yes, Mate! Eight

Assists

Y Salech (90′) – Cardiff City

P Struijk (90′ + 5) – Leeds Utd

Regret:

Meanwhile…

Fourteen poor souls scored 15 points or less at the other end.

3 didn’t register a correct score.

Only one didn’t make double digits…

Rob Currin 8 (0) must be feeling a bit “ouch” right now…

Correct Score of the Week:

Why can’t games end on 90 minutes anymore…most popular score was Cardiff’s 1-1 Severnside derby draw with Bristol City – 31 of youse got that!

Twenty eight were all over the 1-3 to the Cherries at Southampton

26 doffed a cap to Celtic’s 3-0 deconstruction of Dundee Utd

17 got the 1-3 Rangers win at Hearts

Nine had Kilmarnock’s 3-1 win over St Johnstone

7 were grateful for the 3-1 Bristol Rovers win versus Burton Albion

Four celebrated the bore draw between PNE & Burnley

Paul F & Leo C turned up St Mirren 0 Hibs 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there.

Sam A & Leo C (again!) had their secret prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at Rodney Parade

Sam W thanked the Lord for James Maddison

Chris D just knew Watford would score against Boro for a 0-1

Patricia F got the very annoying 96th minute spoiling Oxford 0 Pompey 2

Leo C (again! again!) believed in Brentford. A 0-1 kinda belief…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Laura Harrison for her I-knew-that-The-Superhoops-would-come-good-eventually-this-season inspired, QPR 4 Derby County 0!

Bet of the Week:

Li’l Leo Clarke was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 1 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

We wonnnnnnnnnnnn! (kinda)

“BTTS in the following games, my dad definitely DID NOT help me with these…”

Brighton & Hove Albion v Chelsea – three goals but none from them lot…
Cardiff City v Bristol City – near enough everyone in PAS knew this would happen – tick!
Hull City v Norwich City – everyone scores against Norwich, don’t they! Tick!

A fine start – bravo Leo!

So, £2.27 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd – yay!

Alan Clarke, My Mum, Sam Webber & Olly Osmond are at 60th this week….Olly was first out the hat, so…

Mr O, I need your 3 team treble by Friday morning, please!

Can you go one better this week?

I hope so…

Table News:

Schoolin’:

Nick Hogwood stays top, 8 points ahead of Charlie H who, in turn, is four points ahead of Bijay L in third…

Four crashed the Top Ten!

Suffragette Suffragette:

All change at the bottom, Matthew Murphy slides 3 places to the bottom, two points behind Thomas S, Mr 2-0 & Dave N who, in turn, are one point adrift of Howard T

Cough Cough:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 71 places is Elliot Davy – honourable mentions go to Jonathas M (+36), Dan C (+40), Ric P (+33), Seb de S (+52), Mark S (+48), Leo C (+43), Gary R (+51), Darren McC (+45) and Patricia F (+31).

Don’t Try:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 43 places are Luke Stafford & Greg Fleming – dishonourable mentions go to Simon Lindq (-33), Lee T (-30), John J (-34), Ray B (-30), and Debbie L (-30)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’25 Week 1 round up

The *$%**%! magic of the Cup!

Skylarkin’:

We’re back! With a bang!

No, not Vinicius Jr – PAS!

Although, given the sharpness of this update, I could’ve waxed lyrical about “as we haven’t signed anyone, imagine if Havertz gets injured, we’re f-“, how karma works (something about humble mumbling…) and gone into the absurdness (and utter delight) of the absence of that unnecessary thing called VAR in the Cup…

But I won’t.

I’ll cut to the chase as it was all about the “hot out the blocks” points trailblazers – and, they deserve props, right?

Two PASers were 3 x flame emojis this weekend reaching the heady heights of 50 points.

Imagine?!!

Bijay L eschewed the clutches of last season’s bout of Woodenspoonitis & put up a good fight. A really good fight!

However, he was ultimately undone by a couple of added-on time goals.

Boooo. And, indeed, hisssss…

Nick Hogwood 52 (8) bagged a load of correct scores including 2 x big bonus pointers to power to victory (actually, he’s definitely indebted to that madness at The Hawthorns…).

Big up!

Anyone else close?

Nine punters ended up hitting the hallowed 40 point marker (and beyond) but a reward wasn’t forthcoming – sometimes football can be a cruel mistress…

So, congrats Mr H, the second season on the trot the £20 is winging its way back to you in Week 1 – everything else is a bonus for you once again this season!

The Grrreat Eight

Assists

H Maguire (90’+3) – Man Utd

C Paterson (90’+3) / J Molumby (90+6) – Sheff Wed / WBA

D Keillor-Dunn (90′) – Barnsley

Bless You:

Did you score 30 points + this week? Wow, we’re great aren’t we…!

Forty one (!) of us managed that, but 9 punters couldn’t manage any more than 15 points this week  – and 10 players couldn’t muster a correct score!

Shocking.

Not as shocking as that game in Devon though, eh?

Anyway…

Everyone managed to break into double digits – but feeling no joy in Week 1 is Will Oppong 12 (0).

Willo, you spared Mr 2-0’s blushes – you’re too kind young man!

Correct Score of the Week:

Really?!…most popular score was Celtic’s 5-0 win over Raith Rovers – 41(!!) of youse got that!

Nineteen got Aberdeen 3 Dunfermline 0

9 had Dundee’s merciless deconstruction of Airdrieonians

4 celebrated like Walsall at Highbury in ’83 after that 2-3 at St Andrew’s

Bijay L got the dull-all at Deepdale

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Alan Clarke for his they-don’t-call-me-Sniffer-for-nothing-look-what-I-unearthed inspired, Coventry 1 Ipswich 4!

Bet of the Week:

So, we’ve failed quite spectacularly in the last few seasons on this – actually, we’ve always failed.

But last season, we did alright. Welllllll, alright(ish)…

So!

We’re being brave and we’re gonna stick with it to see how we go!

How?

Whoever is on the “Bet of the Week” position for the following week will be asked to provide a treble selection so we can place the allocated £3 for the bet.

The winnings will stay on that slot and collected by the lucky person residing there at the end of Week 13.

Got that? No?!

OK…

The person on 83rd will make the selections for Week 2, the person on 60th in Week 2 will make the selections for Week 3,the person on 45th in Week 3 will make the selections for Week 4 and the person on 33rd in Week 4 will make the selections for Week 5 and back round again to 83rd…yeah?!

Good.

So, Leo Clarke is first up.

Leo, I need your 3 selections by Friday please (ask your dad if you’re allowed to get involved in betting first though mate!) ! It can be homes, aways or draws. Or a mix of all three. It doesn’t have to be football! It can be horses! Or rugby! Or dogs! Or fighting crickets! But not cricket…that’s a step too far!

Let’s get off to a winning start for a change.

No pressure young man…

Table News:

It’s Week 1 – it is what it is! Click here for the full table

Please be aware we lost a few players but we can still gain some more…and we’ve done well so far this season!

Thanks to those of you who recruited the newbies this season – love youse! (Shouts to Sam A and newbie Ciaran N!)

So, if you know anyone out there who wants to get involved, put them in touch.

It’s never too late…they’ll get a, ahem, “respectable” Mr 2-0 13pts for Week 1 to boot!

The draw was made (we couldn’t afford Frankie’s appearance fees for a “live” What’s App draw now that she’s a drama protégée…soz)

And…

…here is the draw!

We had drama as Louis W  dropped out allowing Andy K a free hit!

So, we have a tasty Man Yoo v Liverpool clash, The CL Queen taking on a former PAS Cup winner, a serial CL winner up against a Northwich Vics manager and another Geordie at risk of an upset to a student in Leeds!

PAS Champions League Round of  Sixteen

Jack Buxton (D1) v Debbie Lee (E2)
