PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’25 Week 7 round up

Our new Starboy got swag…

Uh Huh Oh Yeh:

Well that was a busy (international) week!

I’ll get to it then…

A massive 47 PASers scored thirty points or more this week and five of those cracked the 40 point mark.

Neil C did that, Howard T missed predicting 8 games but was still only undone by that late late goal Gibraltar on Tuesday, Lee T went closer courtesy of the two games he missed ending up 2-0 (more on that debate later…), and Harry H must be kicking himself as he managed to miss eleven games and still amassed a massive score!

That left Dom Webber 46 (7) out front and centre to collect the £20 weekly prize – very much in debt to Czechia going to the bitter end!

Well done Dom, I take it this extends the Geordie party for another week?!

The Serious Seven

Assists

M Merino (90′ + 3) – Spain

D Vlahovic (90) – Serbia

J Kliment (90 + 5) – Czechia

Hung Up:

Well that was a (international) week!

Amazingly, only 4 punters scored less than fifteen points.

And all those four didn’t get a correct score.

But they did all score double figure totals (every cloud…)

Simon Buxton 11 (0) finds himself in very unfamiliar surroundings right at the bottom of the pile.

Expect Jack B to pile in…

Correct Score of the Week:

Two-nil anyone?…most popular score was England’s 3-0 win over Latvia – 29 of us got that!

Nineteen just knew Czechia would keep a clean sheet for a o-4 in Gibraltar

16 made us all green by happening upon Belgium 3-0 Ukraine

Thirteen were grateful for the 3-1 Wales win over Kazahkstan

7 we’re so happy for Spain 2-2 Netherlands they will actually wear that ballet dress…

Seven more already had that dress on for the reverse fixture 2-2 of the above

Neil C, Bijay L & Sam W got the dull-all at the County Ground

Simon Linds, Patricia F & Jonathas M somehow stumbled on Portugal 3 Denmark 2 (how????)

Rob L got the 0-1 Scotland win in Greece

Norman L just knew Hungary wouldn’t score against Turkiye for a 0-3

Tony M landed on the two-two in Cumbria on Tuesday night

Justin C said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for his Bradford 4 Colchester 1

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season, goes to Simon Lindsay for those-little-teams-know-how-to-sort’ve-make-a-game-of-it-now inspired, San Marino 1 Romania 5!

Bet of the Week:

Norman Lee was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 6 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

We won! Full house ‘n’ all!
“Home team to win with -1.5 handicaps”
Cyprus vs San Marino
England vs Albania
Wales vs Kazakhstan

So, £6.63 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th – whoop whoop!

That Med sunshine suits you Norm!

Ben McKeown  is at 45th this week….

Benny , I need your 3 team trixie by Friday morning, please!

Hope you’ve sobered up by now….

Table News:

Sunflower:

Ben Hogwood moves up one place to hit the summit, eleven points ahead of Nick H who, in turn, is ten points ahead of Pete B in third…

Two crashed the Top Ten!

Broken Stones:

Laura Harrison drops twelve places to the basement slot, 5 points behind Dave N who, in turn, is one point adrift of Matthew M

Out Of The Sinking:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 22 places is Mark J Brown – honourable mentions go to Bijay L (+16), Dom W (+16), Rowan M (+19), Neil C (+20), Justin C (+16), and Lee T (+18).

The Changingman:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 23 places is Norman Lee – dishonourable mentions go to Elliot D (-22), Chris D (-21), and Mike K (-20).

It. Was. Exciting!

We had 6 successful jokers! 1 really successful joker! 2 close games! 2 heartbreakers! And, no away wins!

But who went though to the money rounds?!

PAS Champions League 2025-26:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2025-26 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is, The Stockport Super Sixer, Ric Pardoe!

And Another Thing:

This…
“I want to complain about the laziness of my family members. My brother and father received 2×4 points for failing to enter their scores in time in two matches today.

Meanwhile, hard-working PAS players like myself who correctly predict 2 x 2-0 victories get an equal reward to these part-time players who don’t show sufficient dedication to their predictions.

Is it time to give 0 points to those who show such a lack of commitment?
Is there any chance of points deductions?
I would vehemently hope so.
Some would say I’m bitter. And they would be right.”
Yours
PAS Punter
“Dear PAS Punter,
Thanks for voicing your concerns and the ongoing frustration with Mr 2-0 “disciples”.
Whilst laziness and tardiness are not to be condoned, we have always felt that those who genuinely missed the deadline, should not be harshly punished for NOT READING THEIR F*****G EMAILS!
Mr 2-0 has a worse PAS record than me (which is saying something) and i point you to the current table to allay your fears of punters benefiting from “marginal gains”.
Keep on predicting and the cream will rise to the top.”
Yours sincerely,
El Presidente
“Dear El Presidente
Many thanks for your reassuring words.
I fully appreciate your thoughts.
I will continue to meet deadlines with my own predictions and look forward to being more like cream than gravel.
I will also await the inevitable sports washing of PAS, when a regime will rule which will not stand for such lacklustre performances and will implement such punishments as will see fit…”

Yours
PAS Punter
So the whole Mr 2-0 witch hunt debate rages on (you should see the What’s App group!!) and we’ve listened!
There will be an announcement at the end of the season that we think will put this “issue” to bed once and for all…

Oh, and if you’re doing Sky Super 6 you need to join our league! (No. You really do!)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’25 Week 6 round up

“Slainte!” – Toon PAS on tour

Daniel:

It really was a weekend of surprises eh?!

Five players scored 30 points of more this week but 11 PASers could have won the £20 weekly prize!

Yeah. One of them weeks…

Richard H tricked his way to 4 added-on time assisted correct scores, Danny A got killed by Killy, Jason M was the latest victim of the “Friday Night Curse”, Matt W smashed home a 9 pointer, Jack B must really hate Bruno F, Ben H showed some champion-elect form, Emma T roared back to to the fore with 2 x 5 pointers, and Chris D had a fine finish to a fine Sunday all round for him!

But it wasn’t enough.

New kid Samir R was right there, but was another one deadened by Kilmarnock.

Greg F landed a couple of late late correct scores only to be undone but the late late goal at Millwall.

That left Andy Chesworth 31 (6) out front and clear of the melee behind him!

Well done A, you had half your correct scores in by 2pm on Saturday so that wait must have been hellish…and you didn’t put Citeh to win!

The Securing Six

Assists

M Ivanovic (90′ + 4 pen) – Millwall

J O’Brien (90+1) – Everton

Don’t Go Breaking My Heart:

I think this is some kind of record.

I would ask Dave (Toon) or Dan (Scouse) to check but I think both are still drunk for different reasons…

31 punters couldn’t score more than fifteen points this week.

And.

Everyone got a correct score!

And.

Everyone got a double digit return!

Scant consolation?

Well, not for Rowan Marriott 10 (1) who props up the rest in Week 6.

Ha. Ha.

Correct Score of the Week:

Everyone in on the act then…most popular score was Burnley’s 0-2 win at Swansea – 36 of youse got that!

Thirteen got Brighton’s “Desmond” at Man City

9 thrilled at the thrilling Liverpool 1 Newcastle 2

Nine more were all over the 0-3 to Man U at Leicester

8 nailed Motherwell 2 St Mirren 2

Bijay L & Greg F got Coventry 3 Sunderland 0

Matt W & Matthew S put us all to shame by predicting Plymouth 2 Derby 3

Predictz banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt QPR & Leeds

Predictz (again!) celebrated the bore draw between St Johnstone & Aberdeen

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Ric Pardoe for his you-should-check-me-out-Super-6-if-you-think-this-is-good inspired, Luton 0 Middlesbro 0!

Bet of the Week:

Damian Walsh was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 5 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

It was a no-show…

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd – taking it to £5.27. We’ll take that…

Norman Lee is at 60th this week….

Mr L , I need your 3 team trixie by Friday morning, please!

Winner please!

Table News:

Rocket Man:

Nick Hogwood is still top of the tree, six points ahead of Ben H who, in turn, is seven points ahead of Jason M in third…

One(!) crashed the Top Ten!

Tiny Dancer:

Dave Nicklin drops one place to last place (like he cares right now!), two points behind Matthew M who, in turn, is two points adrift of Mr 2-0

Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 24 places is Chris Dixon (more toon joy!)– honourable mentions go to Tony M (+20), Dom W (+16), Greg F (+23), Emma T (+19), and Samir R (+16).

I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Reds Blues:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping(?) 17 places are Rowan Marriott, Paul Flaherty, Simon Lindquist & Rob Leland – dishonourable mentions go to Paul H (-12), Jonathas M (-12), Lily T (-11), Patricia F (-11), Ray B (-11), Sean K (-12) and Paul C (-11).

And Another Thing:

Do you like the new colour scheme of the site?!
We thought it fitting that the Geordies get their 15 minutes in the sun after 282 years (plus Dave is from Toon!) and it inspired us to give future L13 winners a bit of an incentive…
If you win the league, you can choose the colour scheme of the site for the following season!
Personally, I hope Ben H wins it this year – just to see the garish yellow & green melt people’s eyes! Or maybe not….
Newbies!
Prep yourselves for next week…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’25 Week 5 round up

i went drinking with my mum on her (86th) birthday, and THAT’S why this is late…

Mr Brightside:

Hic!

I’ll cut straight to the chase people…

Twenty three punters scored 30 points or more this week.

Paul V went close but it was left to two Man City fans who really “were there” this week.

Andy C had the same pain as me this week (predicting not hangovers) seeing 9 points disappear with late late goals in Brighton & Harrogate.

That left Pete Britton 39 (6) toasting the aforementioned goal at the Amex to take this week’s £20 weekly prize!

Well done Pete, not a bad season after all eh?!

The Safe Six

Hearts 3 1 Dundee
Aberdeen 4 1 Queens Park
Brighton 2 1 Fulham
Sheff Utd 1 0 Preston NE
West Brom 1 0 QPR
Wolves 1 1 Everton

Assists

Joao Pedro (90′ + 8) – Brighton

When You Were Young:

Only five players scored no more than 15 points this week.

5 got no correct scores (Justin C & Rob C must be wincing)

Everyone got a double digit total!

Bottom this week?

Little Leo Clarke 11 (1) trailed home last.

Bless.

Correct Score of the Week:

I have no idea…most popular score was Bolton’s 1-2 win at Burton – 31 of youse got that!

Twenty-one landed on the two-two in north London on Sunday. The wrong side of north London…

18 nailed Hearts 3 Dundee 1

Seven thrilled at the thrilling Aberdeen 4 Queens Park 1

4 made us all green by happening upon Burnley 4-0 Luton

Debbie L, Harry H & Laura H snaffled up the 5 points served up by Liverpool & Southampton

Greg F nabbed the form book upsetting Portsmouth 1 Leeds 0

Debbie L (again!) put us all to shame by predicting Chelsea 1 Leicester City 0

Sam W decided to deploy catenaccio to reap the rewards from Stockport v Charlton. And he did…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Ben McKeown for his it’s-a-game-so-far-away-from-anywhere-they-deserve-to-lose inspired, Plymouth Argyle 0 Sheffield Wednesday 3!

Bet of the Week:

Dickie Holloway was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 4 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

It was justified!

“Trixie bet is: KLF”

Kelty Hearts – draw – yes!

Livingston – draw – no!

Falkirk – win – yes!

That’s the type of bet we like – bravo Ricardo!

So, £3.53 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd – we might get enough for an ice cream (van) on here!

Damian Walsh is at 83rd this week….

Mr W, I need your 3 team trixie by Friday morning, please!

Tough act to follow unless you make a million quid we can then burn…

Table News:

Smile Like You Mean It:

Nick Hogwood stays top, nine points ahead of Ben H who, in turn, is four points ahead of Pete B in third…

One(!) crashed the Top Ten!

Human:

Howard Thomas remains rooted to the bottom, two points behind Dave N who, in turn, is two points adrift of Matthew M

All These Things That I’ve Done:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 29 places is Andy Chesworth – honourable mentions go to George T (+21), Lily T (+22), Ric P (+22), Olly O (+22), Rich L (+20) and Predictz (+20).

Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 27 places is Leo Clarke – dishonourable mentions go to Julian F (-20), Norman L (-21), and Ciaran N (-20).

And Another Thing:

“So it seems to me Predict-a-Score questions Arteta’s career limiting assumption that predicting football scores is not only possible, but an essential component of fan power.
And then he comes over all Trumpian, and threatens the integrity of our leader.
What next?
We need a united and collective response!
It might be easier for him to see the light, if for instance, he played with a front man…”  – Kate Slee’s “management” team call our Mikel

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’25 Week 4 round up

One thing you ain’t winning Arne…

This Is The Day:

So, who cannot wait til we get rid of VAR/incompetent refs?

We’ll come back to that…

A pretty fruitful week for about quarter of the league as twenty four of you amassed 30 points or more.

Frankie F actually did her own scores and got amongst it, further compounding my Weston of a week – we’ll come back to that…

Two punters went beyond the forty point mark and went neck & neck to line for the £20 weekly prize!

Both returned an impressive haul of 8 correct scores and the deciding factor was literally Peter M having faith in a Watford win – they didn’t.

That left Ben Hogwood 43 (8) out up front scooping up another Hogwood clan weekly win…

Tell me though B, is this accolade soured by the fact a 96th minute equaliser against your team did a lot of heavy lifting in this victory?!

The “Yes,mate! Eight

Crystal Palace 3 1 Millwall
Blackburn 1 1 Norwich
Salford City 1 2 Bradford
QPR 1 2 Sheff Utd
Harrogate Town 2 1 Accrington
Dundee 1 1 St Johnstone
Hibs 2 1 Hearts
Man Utd 1 1 Fulham

Assists

A Weimann (90′ + 6) – Blackburn

Infected:

One man’s forty-tude is another’s, erm, faintheartedness?

Nearly a quarter of the league (yep, you lot. Yes, you 22 cowering in the corner with me!) couldn’t even manage more than fifteen points this week!.

Seven of us couldn’t even muster a correct score between us.

Luckily for me, I ordered Dave Nicklin 10 (0) to fall on his sword to spare my blushes.

Sometimes this job has it perks. Sometimes…

Correct Score of the Week:

I’m staying out of this…most popular score was Sunderland’s 1-2 win at Sheff Wednesday – 39 of youse got that!

Eighteen revelled in the 3-1 schadenfreude of JPM at Selhurst Park

9 nabbed the form book upsetting Man City 3 Plymouth 1

Eight nailed Aberdeen 2 Dundee Utd 2

7 got 3 goal demolition of Newport by Doncaster

Four decided to deploy catenaccio to reap the rewards on Stoke v Watford 0-0. And they did…

Norman L made us all green by happening upon Ipswich’s 1-1 draw at Forest

Leo C saw his typo come good on the game at Ibrox

Debbie L banked the five points on offer for the 0-0 betwixt Wrexham & Bolton

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Debbie Lee (again!) for her I-love-Fat-Frank-and-he-loves-me inspired, Oxford United 2 Coventry City 3!

Bet of the Week:

Andy Kelly was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 3 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

“ALL HOOP VICTORIES”

QPR to beat Sheff Utd – uh oh
Hamilton Academicals to beat Falkirk – oh no (a 91st minute equaliser!)
Alloa Athletic beat Cove Rangers – oh yeah

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – unlucky that!

Dickie Holloway is at 33rd this week….

Ricardo, I need your 3 team treble by Friday morning, please!

Can you do what the Saints have only managed once at home this season?

Course you can!

Table News:

Perfect:

It’s a family affair…Nick Hogwood stays top, joined by bruv Ben H who, in turn, are fifteen points ahead of Simon B in third…

Two crashed the Top Ten!

Uncertain Smile:
