PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’20 Week 1 round up

“Something to rub into this wound of a year…”

Free:

Oh man! It was all a dream, right? Right??! The chaos of a new world order had us in tailspin here at PAS HQ – and then some.

But we’re back!

I trust you’re all safe, well & COVID free – let’s keep it that way, please.

Meanwhile, Dan has had a birthday AND got engaged and is currently threatening to crash the Tour de France next year (@JulianF – PAS cycle tops perchance?!) and Dave has sluiced himself in every real ale known to man in 6 short (long) months…oh, and started running again after a particularly nasty knee knack.

Moi? I’m congratulating myself on my enforced absence from The Emirates & Granit effing Xhaka coinciding with me not actually being able to go anyway!

Here’s to Barca snaffling up our midfield general next summer…

So apologies for the lateness of this update – i’m still in shock at how good “Cobra Kai” was.

And, I’ve actually been in a  pub…and i’ve kinda forgotten how to do all this?

Would you Adam & believe it?!

Anyway, back to the now – as per usual, quite a lot of you clearly knew what I didn’t this week.

Best of the bunch?

Our own unstoppable machine, Paul Carter 38 (6) indie danced in front of the unlucky Reagon K courtesy of that correct score on Monday night, and left Pete H, Lee F & “Top Girl” Debbie L in his wake!

Those long days & nights of lockdown did you no harm at all, eh P?!

If you got 30 points or more this week, you were one of 9 – I’m in awe, you jammy…

So, congrats to Mr C, £20 winging it’s way back to you ASAP – always the best week to win innit!

Wildfires:

Did you score more than Mr 2-0 this week?

Some of us only just managed it & 20 managed the same points or less than that this week.

Shocking.

Not as shocking as Chels though eh?! <smiley face>

Four players didn’t manage a correct score and 8 couldn’t muster up a measly 14 points!

One Gooner probably wishing he was still in Costa del Maguire is Rob Currin 7 (0).

A woeful start sees him at the bottom of the pile in the opening week – let me guess, this nu-football is all greek to you, right Roberto?

Correct Score of the Week:

I will never ever take a 0-0 for granted ever again…most popular score was Liverpool’s hard-press 3-1 win over us– 25(!) of youse got that!

Seventeen doffed a cap to Celtic’s 3-0 deconstruction of the beautifully kitted Hibs

7 revelled in the schadenfreude (yes, you Maupay!) of Bruno’s later than late late show at Brighton

Four celebrated the bore draw between Barnsley & Coventry. And I for one, bow to youse…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Carter for his I-know-all-about-proper-northern-outpost-matches inspired, Ross County 0 Aberdeen 3!

Bet of the Week:

So, we’ve failed quite spectacularly in the last few seasons on this – actually, we’ve always failed.

So!

This year, we’re being brave and we’re gonna stick with it to see, with hope, how we go! Again…

How?

Whoever is on the “Bet of the Week” position for the following week will be asked to provide a treble selection so we can place the allocated £3 for the bet.

The winnings will stay on that slot and collected by the lucky person residing there at the end of Week 13.

Got that? No?!

OK…

The person on 11th will make the selections for Week 2, the person on 33rd in Week 2 will make the selections for Week 3,the person on 45th in Week 3 will make the selections for Week 4 and the person on 65th in Week 4 will make the selections for Week 5 and back round again to 11th…yeah?!

Good.

So, Jason M, Paul H, Gary McC, Dom W & John J are all in joint 11th, but Jason Morris was 1st out the hat.

Jay, I need your 3 team treble by Friday please! No pressure son…

Table News:

It’s Week 1 – it is what it is! Click here for the full table.

Please be aware we may lose some players but we may gain some – so if you know anyone out there who wants to get involved, put them in touch! It’s never too late…and we’re soooooo close to that magical 100 player benchmark, so go get ’em people!

PAS update – please read!

Hola!

Hope you’re all well, fit & healthy – it’s been emotional, eh?

And don’t talk to me about hair…

Anyway,

We’ve thought long and hard at PAS Towers about how we finish the season and now we’ve decided…

I can officially reveal that PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’20 is null & void.

The table will stay on the site for posterity and the league leader of “The Season That Never Was” will be awarded a “ghost trophy” to mark the occasion. Congrats, Hira! You’ve won the “ghost” prize money too!

Ditto for the person propping up the league (that was close Frankie!) – you’ll get a “ghost spoon”. (Un)Lucky you.

So, where does that leave us?

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’20

We’ll start PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’20 as usual, once all the leagues confirm when next season will officially start.

I propose we carry all the entry money (and prize money!) over, meaning you’ll only have to pay around half the usual entry fee for next season…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’20 entry fee money

If anyone would like their money back now, we can pro-rata the amount you get refunded.

Then, if you join again for next season, it’ll be the usual twenty quid…

PAS Cup 2020

At the start PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’20 we will conclude PAS Cup 2020 from the quarter finals stage

PAS Champions League 2019-20

At the start PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’20 we will conclude PAS Champions League 2020 from the quarter finals stage

It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but in the end probably the fairest, as it will be like starting from scratch from a “virtual” pre-season.

No form to go off, no crowds, no real “home” advantage, no idea on fitness, no way of knowing if “safe teams” will bother to compete and no guarantee once it starts, it will actually finish…

Apologies if this isn’t the outcome you wanted – let’s hope we can get back to normal pretty soon.

Or at least, have a new normal.

Or a “not quite normal, but one where things can still happen on a regular basis…”

Stay safe, be sensible and tell the racists to f*ck off.

Cheers,

Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’20 Week 5 round up

“Scousers beware…”

Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft:

We’re living in strange times right now – strange things like…

Will football end just as Liverpool have re-invented it with a blast from the 80s?

Will we ever be allowed out of our houses ever again?

Will we eventually get sick of eating plain pasta?

And will my quest to win the competition I founded be scuppered just as things look as rosy as they’ve ever been?

Yep, proper strange times…

6 mere mortals passed the 30 point barrier this week and that included Debbie L, a newbie and Fernandez x 2 – so yeah, proper strange week alright!

John K gave it his best shot but was blasted out the water by the strange site, Predictz 40 (8).

Our benchmarking friends, who predict for a living remember, often rival Mr 2-0 for ineptitude.

Strange how they can run a business based on predictions that rarely come to fruition  – but they do, so hey…

Anyway, this week’s £20 winner isn’t a real person in our eyes (we did invite them to play “properly” but they have never got back to us) and usually one “lucky” homeless person in MCR benefits instead.

However, sometimes you have to look after your own – so we’re taking the unprecedented step of rolling the weekly prize over to Week 6.

Yep, an emergency board meeting at PAS Towers resulted in the unanimous decision that one PASer deserves twenty quid and enough toilet roll to help them through these troubled times.

Oh, and we may throw some pasta in too if our dark web connect comes through…

Don’t say we don’t look out for you!

Rainy Days and Mondays:

Nowt stranger than folk!

53 punters failed to cross the 20 points tracks this week – brutal!

Thirteen poor souls couldn’t muster a correct score between them either.

But at least Sam Arora & Norman Lee 9 (0) had each other for company as they contemplated not reaching double digits and being the worst of the worst…

Correct Score of the Week:

If you got a good one, you got a good one…most popular score was Fulham’s 1-1 draw at Bristol City– 26 of us got that!

Five got the very annoying last minute spoiling Celtic 5 St Mirren 0

Predictz, Stuart F & Dom W got the dull-all at the DW

Matt W & Paul S had Aberdeen’s 3-1 win over Hibs

Brett D nabbed the form book upsetting Swindon 0 Forest Green 2

Mike K got Derby 3 Blackburn 0

Debbie L secretly said prayers the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at Molineux

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Patricia Fernandez for her I-knew-this-random-method-would-pay-dividends-eventually inspired, PNE 1 QPR 3!

Bet of the Week:

My Mum was on “Bet of the Week” position 65th in Week 4 so we asked her to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

She was too busy organising her 81st birthday bash so granddaughter Frankie stepped up…

And won!

Sheff Utd v Norwich (home win) – just…
Wigan v Luton (draw) – what a shout!
Swindon v Forest Green (home win) – proper vegan shocker!

So, £4.59 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 65th – result!

Harry Hopper is at 11th this week….

Young Harold, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

Now then, won’t let an 11 year old girl better you, will you..??!

Table News:

Top of the World:

Hira Yonzan stays top, now only 6 points ahead of Howard T who, in turn, is 1 point ahead of Paul C in third…

Three crashed the Top Ten.

Yesterday Once More:

Frankie Fernandez remains rooted to the bottom, now ten points behind Darrell S who, in turn, is 3 points away from Neil O…

(They Long to Be) Close to You:

We’ve Only Just Begun:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 34 places is Norman Lee – dishonourable mentions go to Alex R (-31), Charlie H (-21), Bry D (-20), Lily T (-20), Sam O (-22) and Sam A (-20)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’20 Week 4 round up

“Mind the (Watford) gap…”

The Boy with the Arab Strap:

So, the “weather” continues to put pay to our fixture list, and boy, did some of us need that extra game eh?

Cos it really was gonna be 3-2 right?

What? Eh? Oh…

I’ll start again.

In a week that saw yet another game postponed, only 7 players managed to score more than 25 points!

Three of them even managed topped 30 points.

Very impressive stuff.

Paul C was the early pacesetter only to see Gary B sitting pretty on a massive thirty-one points with one game to go.

But, with five games to go, our £20 weekly winner amassed a massive 13 points, cruelly snatching a veteran PASer’s moment of glory from his grasp to consign him to wait even longer for that elusive weekly win (and he’s been waiting since 1989 folks!)

Yep, Hira Yonzan 35 (4) must have been happier than an Arsenal fan this week as his ridiculous Sunday afternoon prediction landed just in the nick of time!

Well done sir – your enthusiasm for PAS has been infectious (no pun intended!) since you joined, a well deserved win, more power to you predicting elbow!

I Want The World To Stop:

A crippling week for some, especially the 55 bods who scored no more than 20 points.

However…

Sam A flopped with 11 (0)

Neils T & O drooped to 10 (0)

Mike Krasnowski & Buxtons, Jack & Simon 9 (0) were most deflated this week as a kinda family trait of worst scores was the order of the day…

No doubt being kind gents, giving Frankie the week off…

Correct Score of the Week:

Interesting week…most popular score was Millwall’s 1-1 draw with Bristol City – 19 of youse got that!

Thirteen landed on the two-two in West London. The wrong side of London…

12 got Swansea’s “Desmond” with Blackburn

Ten nailed Cardiff 2 Brentford 2

5 got the dull-all at St James’s Park (no, not that one, that one)

Five more banked the five point 2-2 betwixt Bournemouth & Chelsea

4 just knew Sheff Wed would score against Derby for a 1-3

Rowan M, Tim P & Pete H we’re so happy for Boro 2-2 Forest they will actually wear that ballet dress…

Matt W, Chris B & John K believed in West Ham. A 3-1 kinda belief…

Simon Linds, Stuart F & Hira Y will shout out loud about the humbling of Spurs by Wolves

Gary B & Samantha P (welcome!) quite rightly predicted Palace’s 0-1 thrashing of Brighton

However, this week’s best correct score goes to ummm, no one, cos there-wasn’t-a-unique-correct-score-this-week!

Bet of the Week:

Jamie Sellers was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 3 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

It crashed & burned!

“you want me to tell you three winners for this weekend, am I right?
Here goes, then:
QPR
West Brom
Gillingham
Good luck to everybody, and may they all get less points than me.”

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – ooops!

Patricia Fernandez is at 65th this week….

Mum, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

This will be very interesting…

Table News:

Step Into My Office, Baby:

Hira Yonzan moves up 1 place to take top slot –  11 points ahead of Paul C who, in turn, is 1 point ahead of Howard T in third…

Two crashed the Top Ten.

She’s Losing It:

Frankie Fernandez drops one place to the bottom – four points behind David G who, in turn, is 2 points away from Ric P…

The Stars of Track and Field:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 51 places is Gary Blackburne – honourable mentions go to Chris D (+19), Dave N (+19), Gareth M (+22), Stuart F (+37), Samantha P (+17) and Chris B (+17)

Lazy Line Painter Jane:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 30 places is Simon Buxton – dishonourable mentions go to Olly O (-20), Neil O (-27), Neil T (-29), Jack B (-27) and Mike K (-28)

In the 1st Round Proper, Richard H took advantage of his wildcard entry to be rewarded with a home tie against the Wizard of Oz, Scott H had his joker to thank and takes on the Belfast Boy, Red Tony Morris avoids his brother and must be relishing the prospect of an off colour Red Neil M in a Manc/Scouse derby, Pete H pulled off an epic away win and has it all to do again against the replay victor Rob C, Frankie rewarded me with an away tie against my old mucker Mark S, Cup holder Kate S continues her defence versus lively newcomer Angelo H, fellow Board member Dan H takes on Sweden’s finest and family derby victor Ben H avoids another derby, but now takes on the ominous “syndicate” member, Jason M…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’20 Week 3 round up

“Play with matches, you get burned…”
Current PAS champ throws down the gauntlet

Little Fluffy Clouds:

It was a lively Week 3 right up to Sunday evening.

A tightly contested field was bunched together as 14 punters reached & breached the 30 point mark.

Any one of those 14 could have won it.

Then came the goal-fest at The Emirates…

That 9 pointer catapulted John Jennings 42 (6) right to the top, and the 2 goal West Ham haul on Monday made sure he kept a grip on the weekly £20 prize.

Well done Mr Jennings – it could be argued that the only scoreline you failed to predict on coming up trumps and that 90th minute Swansea goal was the real difference for you, but y’know…<winking emoji>

Back Side Of The Moon:

Oooof!

Over a third of the runners and riders failed to notch up more than 20 points this week.

Eight of those suffered the ignominy of collecting zero correct scores…

Those feeling the pain particularly pressing?

Gary McCarthy & Ric Pardoe 10 (0) kept each other company – and shared the blushes.

Correct Score of the Week:

Wowsers …most popular score was Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat of Spurs– 25 of us got that!

Fifteen were grateful for the 3-1 Celtic win over Kilmarnock

9 doffed a cap to Wolves’ 3-0 deconstruction of Norwich

Eight got Man Yoo’s 3 goal demolition of Watford

8 more believed in Swansea. A 3-1 kinda belief…

Six had Charlton’s 3-1 “Paul Walsh derby” win over Luton

5 banked the five point 2-2 betwixt Brentford & Blackburn

Five more said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for their Arsenal 3-2 Everton

Martin S, Paul C & Dom W turned up Hamilton 0 Motherwell 0. Then sobbed a little bit as they thought of those 2,531 poor souls who were actually there.

Norman L & Reagon K made us all green by happening upon Burnley 3-0 Bournemouth

Danny A nabbed the form book upsetting Leicester City 0 Manchester City 1

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season, goes to Rowan Marriott for his I-did-my-scores-whilst-running-38-miles-whilst-carrying-my-youngest-whilst-moving-house inspired, Birmingham City 3 Sheffield Wednesday 3!

Bet of the Week:

Norman Lee was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 2 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

We didn’t get a reply!

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd – decent start to be fair!

Jamie Sellers is at 45th this week….

Mr Baba Louey, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

Table News:

A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From The Centre Of The Ultraworld:

Sam Arora moves up 1 place to the summit –  1 point ahead of Hira Y who, in turn, is three correct scores ahead of John J in third…

Five crashed the Top Ten.

Outlands:

Ric Pardoe plummets nine places to the basement slot – two points behind Frankie F who, in turn, is 6 points away from Chris B…

Perpetual Dawn:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 49 places is Scott Harrison – honourable mentions go to Paul H (+41), John J (+41), Jerry S (+41), Tony M (+36), Neil T (+33), Predictz (+30) and Andy C (+30)

Supernova At The End Of The Universe:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 33 places is Chris Dixon – dishonourable mentions go to Gary McC (-32), Bry D (-30), Dave N (-30), Olly O (-28), Gareth M (-28), Glynn F (-27), Dan W (-26) and David G (-25)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’20 Week 2 round up

“raise your hand if you think you understand, raise your standards if you don’t..”

Come Home (The Andy Weatherall Mix):

An awful week all round then…

Even in PAS.

It was a proper bunfight to be the best of a bad bunch in Week 2.

Twenty four of us got over 20 points in a week that saw the 30 point barrier remaining intact for probably the first time ever?

Lily T showed her dad that she’s stepped up to the plate her mum vacated this season with vim & vigour.

Hira Y is basically doing a Leicester of 2016.

If Leicester were in fact, well, Notts County.

But heading up the trio who got nearest to flirting with thirty was our exile in Oz, Paul Carter 27 (5).

Mr C has Ross County’s 94th-minute equaliser to thank for edging out Mr Y and securing the twenty nicker.

I think that’s the definition of a flaming galah.

Not certain though…

Raise (63 Steps to Heaven) [Redskin Rock Mix]:

18 poor souls got zero correct scores.

A terrible week all round then…

Lightened only by the fact that Mr 2-0 5(0) and his followers were bottom of the pile.

Yep, scant consolation that…

Correct Score of the Week:

Barren…most popular score was Ross County’s 1-1 draw with St Johnstone – 27 of youse got that!

Seven got WBA’s “Desmond” with Forest

6 had the very annoying last minute spoiling Aston Villa 2 Spurs 3

Four landed on the two-two in Edinburgh. The wrong side of Edinburgh…

Justin C & Nick W nailed Rotherham 2 AFC Wimbledon 2

Ben H was all over the 1-0 to the ‘Gers

Sam A was well away with the 0-1 away win for Liverpool

Paul C got the dull-all at Molineux

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Chris Dixon for his whey-aye-man-i’m-alreet-pet inspired, Cardiff 2 Wigan 2!

Bet of the Week:

Kate Slee was on “Bet of the Week” position 11th in Week 1 so we asked her to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

We didn’t get a reply!

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th – decent start to be fair!

Norman Lee is at 33rd this week….

Mr Lee, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

Table News:

Soon (The Andrew Weatherall Mix):

Hira Yonzan will be delirious with joy as he moves up 2 places to go 8 points ahead of Sam A who in turn is one point ahead of Chris D in third…

Four crashed the Top Ten.

Abandon (Boys Own Mix):

Neil Meredith drops one place to the bottom, two correct scores behind Mr 2-0 and his acolytes

Weekender (Audrey Is A Little Bit More Partial Mix):

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 61 places is Lee Ford – honourable mentions go to Paul C (+46), Ryan G (+48), Gareth M (+46), Jamie S (+47), Moi (+51) and John J (+50)

Only Love Can Break Your Heart (A Mix In Two Halves):

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 48 places is Sam Craig – dishonourable mentions go to Neil O (-34), Samantha P (-30), Angelo H (-41), Will O (-35), Matt W (-38), David G (-31), Bijay L (-41) and Andy F (-45)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’20 Week 1 round up

“Head the ball…”

Firesmoke:

New year, new start ‘n’ all that.

I did my scores from a position of excellent preparation, plenty of research and a knowing that it’d be a week that would go as it ought to go…

It didn’t.

So apologies for the lateness of this update – i’ve been in shock. And in pubs.

Quite a lot of you clearly knew what I didn’t…

Best of the bunch?

Dom Webber 40 (7) deftly manoeuvred, on his debut, to the front of the pack thanks to, well, no last minute dramas basically!

Or VAR interventions.

If you got 30 points or more this week, you were one of 9 – I doff my cap, you jammy…

So, congrats Dommo, £20 winging it’s way to you ASAP – you’re already a tenner up!

Always the best week to win it – innit!

People’s Faces:

Did you score more than Mr 2-0 this week?

Wow, I’m in awe…

13 of us couldn’t manage that this week.

Shocking.

Not as shocking as Sheff U though eh?! <horrorfied face>

Six players didn’t manage a correct score and 10 couldn’t muster up a measly 15 points!

One girl wishing she was more “Blades” though is Francesca Fernandez 9 (1).

A woeful start sees her at the bottom of the pile in the opening week – a lesson learnt not to farm out your scores to a “boy that knows about football”…

That’s (not) my girl!

Correct Score of the Week:

I’ve got that sinking feeling already…most popular score was Motherwell’s 1-1 draw at St Mirren– 19 of youse got that!

Thirteen were all over the 0-3 to the Bhoys

7 had Everton’s 3-1 win over The Eagles

Five thrilled at the thrilling Brentford 3 Middlesbrough 2

4 made us all green by happening upon Hamilton 0-4 Rangers

Dave N, Howard T & Samantha P (welcome!) got the bore draw between Salford & Crawley

Mark S, Kate S & Matthew M celebrated the dull-all at the Pirelli Stadium

Jazz S, Matt W & Darren McC were grateful for the 3-1 Stoke win over Charlton

Howard T (again!) & Bijay L got Colchester 3 Plymouth 0

Paul C secretly said prayers the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at Pittodrie

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Mike Krasnowski for his start-as-you-mean-to-go-on inspired, Swansea City 2 Derby County 3!

Bet of the Week:

So, we’ve failed quite spectacularly in the last few seasons on this – actually, we’ve always failed.

But last season, we did alright. Welllllll, alright(ish)…

So!

We’re being brave and we’re gonna stick with it to see how we go!

Good.

So, last season’s “leading lady” Kate Slee is first up.

Pete Katy, I need your 3 team treble by Friday please!

No pressure…

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’19 Week 13 round up

Now you can have your own emoji Miguel…

Street Fighting Man”:

You can tell it’s the holiday season – people put down crazy scores, crazy scores come in.

Mr 2-0 is oversubscribed as people “forget” or drift off into an alcoholic abyss with little chance of predicting succour.

Form goes out the window & “coupon busters” are celebrated by bookies across the country.

So how do you combat this perennial problem?

Don’t ask me, I had Blackburn v Wigan as 4-0 & ‘Wall to beat Barnsley 4-1…

However, as no one netted in the last minute (or any minute!) at Ewood Park, the miracle of Christmas left Danny A & Simon Linds trailing in the wake of Martin Stafford 39 (8)

Ding, dong! (merrily on high)

Sawreetferthee M, eeeyafflaff?!

Art suppin bowt?

Best use that twenty quid eh?!

Ahem,

Here’s the science bit – 14 of youse managed 25 points or more.

Merry Christmas!

Gimme Shelter”:

It’s Christmas, there are crazy scores expected and there’s last minute shopping to be done.

Why bother doing your scores?

Matthew M, Nick W & John J are wondering just that in a week where 32 bods only managed 15 points or less.

Someone who really didn’t have a Scooby this week was newbie Jon Vaughan 7 (0) – don’t run off scared Jonny, come back brighter!

Correct Score of the Week:

Some crackers here…most popular score was Norwich’s 1-2 defeat to Wolves– 32 of youse got that!

N-n-n-n-nineteen obviously guessed Villa would beat Cardiff 3-1 (yesssss, I had 2-1!)

10 got the dull-all at McDiarmid Park

Eight got the very annoying last minute spoiling Forest Green 2 Swindon Town 2 (yesssss, I had 1-2!)

7 just knew Hibs wouldn’t score against Rangers for a 0-3 (yesssss, I had 1-3!)

Six landed on the two-two in London. The wrong side of London…

Martin S & & David G celebrated the bore draw between Blackburn & Wigan

Ben McK & Danny A believed in Hull. A 3-0 kinda belief… (yep, I had 2-0…)

Patricia F & Tim P both got Aston Villa 1 Southampton 3, which tells you everything about that result…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to, erm, no one again as there-was-no-unique-correct-score-this-week-again…weird, non?!

Bet of the Week:

Gary Blackburne was on “Bet of the Week” position 65th in Week 12 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He bombed!

Palace to win at Toon – bust!

Sheff U to win Brighton – boom!

Leeds to win at Fulham – bust!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 65th meaning it stayed on £3.00 for the season – yeah!

Great effort from all our BoTWers this season.

Say it quietly, but I think we may be onto something here…

Table News:

She’s A Rainbow”: Two crashed the Top Ten and highest climber this week, up a whopping 24 places is Martin Stafford – honourable mentions go to Danny A (+22), Simon Linds (+17), Mike K (+13) and Gareth M (+13)

You Can’t Always Get What You Want”: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 15 places is Jon Vaughan – dishonourable mentions go to Tom M (-14), John J (-11), Gary B (-11) and Nick W (-10)

Full season update is imminent once I can work out what day it is…

Actually, I’ll get it done before you go back to work – honest!

PAS Cup 2020:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2020 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…yeah right, like i’m gonna tell you that now!

Patience is a virtue mes amigos…

And Another Thing:

Thankyou for taking part in another fab season – we couldn’t do it without you!

Please come back soon. Very soon!

Actually, it will be early February – fear not, you’ll be getting a constant stream of reminders!

Oh, and bring some friends…

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’19 Week 12 round up

“Everything is awesome…”

Ch-Check It Out:

Football is rubbish eh?

Bookselling sites are hosting whole weekends of viewing, no one can be @rsed to actually go to actual games anymore (ok, maybe just me then – thanks Granit…) and VAR is doing it’s utmost to derail our beautiful game (PAS, not the game).

So predicting scores is taking one hell of a beating at the minute.

I may be wrong, but I think this week is the closest week ever in terms of players vying to win the £20 prize.

Fifteen players broke the 25 point mark and only, don’t faint, 3 got over thirty points!

Tony M went really close, but he missed out on Charlton & Peter M went really really close with a Super Sunday of 3 correct scores…

But, it turned out to ladies night on Monday!

Sam Craig 31 (5) had all the above plus Wilf to thank for his stunning strike to deny Them Lot for her 1-1 prediction.

What’s more amazing about this win is the fact that Sam only actually put scores in for 9 games…and landed 4 correct scores!

If you were ever gonna make use of Mr 2-0, this is the way to do it folks!

Merry Christmas Sam!

I Don’t Know:

So 25 points was the heady heights.

Wow.

Twenty punters got less than 15 points.

Ow!

Eight of youse didn’t manage a correct score, with Matt W & Anders H posting a measly 10 points eaxh.

However, the Fernandez clan & Pompey will surely now disown Julian Fernandez 9 (0)

Bah ‘umbug…

Correct Score of the Week:

Ouch…most popular score was Wigan’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield– 31 of youse got that!

Twelve we’re so happy for Charlton 2-2 Hull they will actually wear that ballet dress…

Olly O, Andy C & Paul C had Swansea’s 3-1 win over Middlesbro

Gary B, Nick H & David G made us all green by happening upon Birmingham 2-3 WBA

John K & Paul S will shout out loud about the humbling of Arsenal by Citeh

Rowan M & Stuart F turned up Stoke 0 Reading 0. Then sobbed a little bit as they thought of those poor souls who were actually there…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to, erm, no one as there-was-no-unique-correct-score-this-week…weird, non?!

Bet of the Week:

Tom Morley was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 10 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Fail!

Derby to draw with Millwall – nah

Man Yoo to beat Everton – nah

WBA to win at Brum – just!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th meaning it’s on £2.35 for the season – don’t all rush…

Gary Blackurne is at 65th this week….

Gee, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

Table News:

The Maestro:

Nick Hogwood remains a-top, now a massive 15 points ahead of Jason M who in turn is one point ahead of Pete B in third…

Two crashed the Top Ten.

Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun:

Norman Lee stays stuck to the bottom, seven points behind Tim P, who in turn is 3 correct scores adrift of Jamie F

The New Style:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 15 places are Tony Morris & Sam Craig – honourable mentions go to Peter M (+13), David G (+12) and Chris D (+10)

Get It Together:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 15 places is Julian Fernandez – dishonourable mentions go to Darren McC (-11), Matt W (-10), Will O (-10) and Anders H (-10)

Matchday 6 Group games went ahead this week…

It. Was. Decisive!

We had 9 successful jokers! 4 hammerings! 2 close games! 7 away wins! 2 heartbreakers! 1 correct score heartbreaker!

One won their game with 16 points & one lost their game with 25 points!

So, who got through to the money rounds? And, who crashed out?

There was heartbreak in Groups B, E & G and absolute scenes of tragedy in Group H….!

A word from the tech team…

“Because of some intermittent issues with the new Edit Predictions “save” functionality, we have reverted back to previous behaviour:

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’19 Week 11 round up

“Fred’s dred baby, Fred’s dred…”

Just Like Heaven:

It was a pretty average week this week, even Mr 2-0 sat happily in the middle on 20 points.

Bah.

But average it was not at the top of the weekly pile – it was a right ol’ ding dong!

Only eight players breached 30 points or more and 3 of them produced our very own Super Sunday…

Andy K claimed top spot with a double whammy of correct scores via Newcastle & Sheff Utd.

Then Paul S retorted with a 5 pointer at Brighton.

Exciting eh?!

On to Monday then, and at half time, Lee Ford 38 (5) couldn’t have possibly envisaged his 1-3 prediction coming in (it only happened cos West Ham are even more inept than us btw…) but come in it did!

Those five points propelled him to the top and the £20 prize was claimed!

Bravo!

Just in time for that overpriced mulled wine in the Christmas markets then.

Or not…

Boy’s Don’t Cry:

Thirteen of us suffered the nightmare before Christmas this week.

As Mr 2-0 lorded it on 20 points, we hit the misery of not even getting to 15 points.

Six of us didn’t register a correct score.

Only one though didn’t get into double figures…

That was you in Sweden, Anders Hoglund 9 (0)

Skol?

Correct Score of the Week:

I’m sayin’ nowt…most popular score was Toon’s 2-1 win over Southampton– 31 of youse got that!

Eleven were all over the pretty obvious 0-3 to Liverpool

8 were well away with the 1-3 away win for Arsenal

Seven got Brighton’s “Desmond” with Wolves

5 thrilled at the thrilling Blackpool 3 Fleetwood Town 1

Five more banked the five point 2-2 betwixt Millwall & Nottm Forest

Sam C & Paul S lapped up the injury time joy of Cardiff 3 Barnsley 2

Paul C secretly said prayers the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at Vicarage Road

Lee F said “Look at me! Look at me! Yes! Me! Meeee!” for his Reading 2 Birmingham 3

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Sam Arora for his I-knew-the-Barlinnie-Bird-would-shake-it-up inspired, Everton 3 Chelsea 1!

Bet of the Week:

Nick Hogwood was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 10 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He went big, and…

Boom!

Newcastle to beat Southampton & BTTS – who scored the winner??!   : )

Luton to beat Wigan – what a comeback that was – last minute euphoria!

Colchester v Salford BTTS – damn!

So, £9 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd meaning it’s on £18.96 for the season – sweeeet!

Tom Morley is at 45th this week….

Thomas, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

Table News:

Why Can’t I Be You?:

Nick Hogwood moves up one place to the summit, 6 points ahead of defending champion Pete B who in turn is six points ahead of Neil O in third…

Two crashed the Top Ten.

Never Enough:

Norman Lee slips one place to the bottom, four points behind Jamie F, who in turn is 8 points adrift of Andy S

Jumping Someone Else’s Train:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 20 places is Lee Ford – honourable mentions go to Ben McK (+10), Andy K (+11), Paul S (+14) and Dave N (+11)

Close To Me:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 15 places is Anders Hoglund – dishonourable mentions go to El Presidente (-14), Howard T (-10), Mark J B (-10) and Shezan J (-13)
