PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’16 Week 2 round up

Insane In The Brain”:

There’ll be dancing on the streets of Whitefield this week! Not because the Tesco have still got Marmite , more cos the Syndicate now has its own PAS record holder! Fifty nine players got over 30 points this week! Yeah, mad eh?!

25 got over forty points!! Ten of you scored over 50 points!!!

And two managed the fabled heights of 60 points or more!!!

Aussie PayPal maestro George T must have had the prawns defrosting & the Fosters on ice when he totted up a massive 60 (7). Bonzer!  (he probably didn’t think to himself…)

Strewth swiftky ensued though, as, with 5 correct scores amounting to an unbelievable 38 points, Mark Seels 64 (8) has the total respect of his peers by setting a new PAS record for points in a week.

Congrats Seelsy, one to tell the 5-a-side boys once you’re back from injury ? Not back yet? Well, you’ve got £20 now towards the physio bill…

Hits From The Bong”:

Back in May 1978, Roger Osborne beat Pat Jennings in the FA Cup Final and then collapsed…

]38 years later, a collapse once again unites a Jennings & an Osborne! (see what I did there?)

John Jennings & Neil Osborne 22 (1) quite unbelievably finished bottom of the pile with a normally respectable score that back in the day represented the average score to finish in the Top Ten!

Harsh.

Correct Score of the Week:

Crazy scores, crazy predictions, crazy points scored – most popular score was Norn Iron’s 4-0 win over San Marino – 28 of youse got that!

18 got the 4-0 in Estonia. When they beat Gibraltar.

17 got the 10 point 0-6 between Gibraltar & Belgium.

15 got Germany’s fine win at the expense of Czech Republic.

13 got the ten points on offer from Portugal 6-0 Andorra.

6 nailed Wales away draw in Vienna.

Five got Ireland’s 1-3 defeat of Moldova.

5 came good with 10 points for Faroe Islands 0 Portugal 6.

4 got Belgium’s 4-0 hammering of Bosnia

Me, Mark S & Dan H got the 3-0 between Sweden & Bulgaria.

Matt W, Norman L & Richard H got Holland 4 Belarus 1.

Ricki M (welcome!), Ross B & Simon Lindq got France 4-1 Bulgaria.

Neil T & George T just knew it would be 0-0 between Slovenia & England.

James L & Dave C smashed in Oxford 1 Wimbledon 3

However, this week’s best correct score, goes to Andy Fowler for his savvy, Wales 1 Georgia 1!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 93 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We lost! Not the most auspicious of starts…

52% Holland V France – Paul P starts to revv up…

35% Oxford V Wimbledon – MK who?!

35% Blackpool V Cambridge – we got this one!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th. Hmmmm, we will persist…!

Table News:

The Phuncky Feel One“: Mark Seels moves up 17 places to go 11 points ahead of old team mate Pete B who in turn is one point ahead of Norman L in third.

Loads crashed the Top Ten.

Lick A Shot“: Ooops! Ian Pratt goes up five places but remains bottom of the pile (yeah, we lost a few people from last week!) 4 points behind Martin S who in turn is 2 points off Brett A.

The Funky Cypress Hill Sh*t“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 74 places is George Triantafillou – honourable mentions go to Norman L (+37), Peter M (+33), Jason M (+48), Simon Lindq (+62), Ricki M (+39), Jazz S (+61), Sam C (+57), Matt W (+65), El Presidente (+45), Ross B (+39), Dan H (+34) and Rowan M (+33)

PAS L13 W16 Week 1 round up!

We’re off and running!

joshh

Tasty…

Feel Good Hit Of The Summer”: Evans above! By George i think he’s got it! Follow Reading?! Even know where it is??!
Well, they’ve got a Manc centre back who popped up for a 90th minute equaliser against Derby on Saturday. So what you say?
Well, if you nailed a 5 pointer 2-2 at Watford & then clocked that last gasp goal go in, the “what” would be “you’ve won the week!”
Imagine that?!
One person who didn’t have to imagine, merely bask in smug realisation, was Richard Hughes 44 (8) who, courtesy of Mr E, stole in to take the £20 weekly prize when it looked like PAS Euro ’16 champion “Hitman Howie T” (ask your hip hop uncle millennials!) had it in the onion bag. Well done Hughesy, a fine week to win as you don’t have pay me your entry fee now!
Steve Sidwell will be sooo proud of ya mate, go paint the town orange my son!

No One Knows”: Is your surname Rossi? Oh dear! One correct score? Jeeeeez!
Actually, it’s not as”oh dear” as being called Pratt, Ian Pratt 8 (0).
Yep, a bottom of the pile shocker of a start, but the only way is up eh Ian?!
Shurely double figures beckon in one of the fabled PAS International weeks in Week 2?
Go on my son, make uncle John proud of you… (Google it millennials!)

Correct Score of the Week:
Wow! Quite a few correct scores knocking about (despite the mad scorelines – well, i thought they were mad)… most popular score was Norwich’s 1-2 win over Wolves – 36 of youse got that!
8 got the “Desmond” between Watford & Bournemouth.Patricia F (well done mum!), John J (welcome!) & Clare T got the Brentford – Wigan bore drawRicki M (welcome!) & Howard T got the 1-3 involving Motherwell & Hearts.

Mark J B just knew Celtic would win 0-1 at Dundee. Cake. Of. Piece, etc….

Dave N got Toon’s 0-1 thriller v lowly Rotherham.

Dave N (again! This won’t look good to the newbies D…) got Leicester 0 Southampton 0.

However, this week’s best correct score and therefore best correct of the season so far, goes to Granite City worshipping, Sam Arora for his 8 point inspired, Kilmarnock 0 Aberdeen 4.

Bet of the Week: We’ve got a new system. We tested it this week. It works. And it gives real time indication of exactly who you lot think will win, lose or draw! And, best of all, you don’t have to do anything at all (well, except put your predictions in on time!)We’re gonna roll it out it in Week 2!Expect, ahem, the bookies to be cowering…

Table News:It’s Week 1 – it is what it is! Click here for details…Please be aware we may lose some players (rubbish people) but we may gain some (Mr 2-0 did good!) so if you know anyone out there who wants to get involved, put them in touch tout suite!

PAS Champions League 2016/17:
Starts next week! Matchday 1 fixtures can be found hereIf you’re at “home” – don’t forget to play your “joker”!

PAS Cup 2016:In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2017 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…nephew of a cerain Beatles legend, Ian Harrison!

And Another Thing:

Lots of payments have come in – thanks! Anyone who hasn’t got round to it, please do as soon as possible – don’t make me chase you!

Cheers,

Pab

PAS Euro ’16 Final round up!

Hola!

The final table can be found here

So, after 51 games (the last one was that epic display of heart, discipline, bloody mindedness & the CR7 sideline show…), Howard Thomas 63 (10) with his Viking “bonus” points, maintained his 1 point lead to take the PAS Euro 2016 title narrow(boat)ly beating the inseparable Olly O & Dan P in joint second place.

Despite a whopping haul of 17 bonus points, Francophile Mark F was ousted from 4th by the bonus-less Jazz S – sacre bleu!

Tres bien you four – your prize money is winging it’s way over right now…

The aforementioned Jazz Sian led the Final stage way with a bumper 5 (1)

Debutante Francis Ball 23 (2) remained the basement boy but was at leasr kept company bythe seasoned Ian Pratt for a wooden spoon double – 3 others posted sub-twenty seven point returns…

Seventy four of us trailed in last for the Final match with an amazing tally of 0 (0)!

Sneaking in at the cut off point (32nd) for PAS Champions League Group Stage qualification was Rob Currin!

Best correct score of the tournament (and £10 to boot on her birthday!) was Francesca Fernandez for her “I’ll-tell-you-my-PAS-secrets-in-a-vlog-very-soon-but-working-on-my-presentation-skills-still-it-takes-time-to-be-perfect-y’know-and-i’m still-working-on-it-actually-it’s-my-birthday-so-now-i’m-like-distracted?-so-it-will-really-have-to-wait…”, Ukraine 0 Norn Iron 2.

Anders Hoglund & Jason Morris got the stoic goalless draw to earn 5 points just like Jazz S did…

Spot Prizers: OK, YOU have finished on these positions and you HAVE won those prizes!

Jamie Sellers on 7th, Kate Hopper on 13th, Jason Morris on 23rd, Simon Buxton on 33rd, Ric Pardoe on 45th, Stuart Fitzsimon on 51st, Alex Taylor & Gary Blackburne on 65th, Tony Morris & Neil Osborne on 77th & Eddie Osborne on 81st.

Suffice to say my sorry performance was just that and the desperate position of predicting the opposite of what I want to happen to protect my on-going bets has…

Who cares! We woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon the Cup and i got weighed in too!

Ahem, anyway….

As you can see we had a bumper field so the prize fund was bountiful – we even siphoned off funds for the upcoming PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’16 (£200) and PAS CL 2016-17 (£200) somake sure you get involved in both those upcoming competitions!

I WILL be in touch!

Put a note in your diary for a September start, get saving those pennies and spread the word so you can introduce some more players…..

Thanks again to all taking part, thanks to the newbies taking a punt (we hope you liked it and come back for more!) and special thanks to Dan & Dave for all their hard work in the boiler house…

Forca Portugal!

Cheers,

Pab

PAS Euro ’16 Semi Finals round up!

Hola!

The updated table can be found here

So, after 50 games (the last one in the Semis was France v Germany…), Howard Thomas 63 (10) with his Viking “bonus” points, still has only a 1 point lead – but now over Olly O who in turn is inseparable from Dan P in third – Francophile Mark F is now in with a real chance of stealing Le Crown in fourth…

Mr 2-0 led the Semi Finals stage way with a bumper 4 (1) – dontcha just hate that??!

Francis Ball 23 (2) remains the basement boy still accompanied by Ian Pratt – 4 others posting sub-twenty seven point returns so far are trying their hardest to wrestle the wooden spoon away for themselves…

Loads of you trailed in last for the Semi Final matches with an amazing tally of 0 (0)!

The prize money info is here btw…and on the table too!

As you can see we have a bumper field so the prize fund is bountiful – even when we’ve siphoned off funds for the upcoming PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’16 (£200) and PAS CL 2016-17 (£200) – good work people and make sure you get involved in both those upcoming competitions!

Currently sneaking in at the cut off point for CL qualification is Tony Bowley!

So, we continue into the Big Final (it kicks off 8pm on Sunday!) – the fixture is up for you to start predicting – so get to it…

Best correct score of the tournament so far is still with Francesca Fernandez for her “I’ll-tell-you-my-PAS-secrets-in-a-vlog-very-soon-but-working-on-my-presentation-skills-still-it-takes-time-to-be-perfect-y’know-and-i’m still-working-on-it…”, Ukraine 0 Norn Iron 2.

Jack B got the fortunate French win against the marginally less comedic team of spot kick takers of Italy. That’s Germany to you & me…

Suffice to say my sorry performance so far has suffered again and the desperate position of predicting the opposite of what I want to happen to protect my on-going bets has…

Guess what???

The seemingly faint hope of a France – Portugal final is now very, very much a reality…yes I am the Oracle of Euro ’16! A Lady @ 30/1 will do very nicely merci beaucoup!

Also, did I tell you I backed Iceland @ 100/1 at the start too?! Well, I cashed out just as the 2nd France goal in the Quarters went in and doubled my money – phew! Thank you Mr Vikings! I’m buying a frozen prawn ring as endorsed but the lovely Kerry K  by way of a thank you…Hoooooooooooooooooo!

The Final round up will be with you on Monday! Or maybe Tuesday…Wednesday?  : )

PAS Euro ’16 Quarter Finals round up!

Hola!

The updated table can be found here

So, after 48 games (the last one in the Last 16 was France v Iceland…), Howard Thomas 60 (10) with his Viking “bonus” points done now has been reeled in with only 1 point lead over Dan P who in turn is only one point ahead of Olly O in third – is it just these three in with a shout now?

Mark Fawke led the Quarter Finals stage way with a bumper 15 (2) – no small thanks to his “team” France smashing Iceland!

Jessica S is no longer rooted to the bottom as newbie Francis Ball 23 (2) takes over the mantle of basement boy but he’s been joined by Ian Pratt, cos he’s nice like that – 9 others posting sub-thirty point returns so far are trying their hardest to wrestle the wooden spoon away for themselves…

Norman Lee trailed in last for the Quarter Final matches with an amazing tally of 0 (0)!

24 got the Germans very lucky penalty win against the comedy spot kick takers of Italy.

Twenty four more got Portugal’s supreme, sublime, scintillating penalty win over Poland

Suffice to say my sorry performance so far has spluttered again and the desperate position of predicting the opposite of what I want to happen to protect my on-going bets is still doing the trick! The faint hope of a France – Portugal final is now very, very much still on…did I tell you I backed Iceland @ 100/1 at the start too?! PAS Euro ’16 Last Sixteen round up

Hola!

The updated table can be found here

So, after 44 games (the last one in the Last 16 was England v Iceland, ahem…), Debbie L has had the lead taken away by a very impressive Howard Thomas 60 (10) who, it seems, has taken his Viking”bonus” points with some aplomb & used them to full advantage as he pulls 7 points clear of the chasing pack…

Alex Rossi led the Last 16 stage way with 15 (3) and without any bonus points!

However, it’s close at the top with at least 8 players all making a case to be the eventual winner…

Francis B is no longer rooted to the bottom as newbie Jessica So 21 (1) takes over the mantle of basement girl – 6 others posting sub-twenty five point returns so far are trying their hardest to wrestle the wooden spoon away for themselves…

Four players trailed in last for the Last 16 matches with a very very bleak tally of 2 (0)!

So, we continue into the Quarter Finals (they start Thursday!) – fixtures are up for you to start predicting – so get to it…

Best correct score of the tournament so far is still with Francesca Fernandez for her “I’ll-tell-you-my-PAS-secrets-in-a-vlog-very-soon-but-working-on-my-presentation-skills…still”, Ukraine 0 Norn Iron 2.

19 got the Germans very efficient 3-0 break-up of Slovakia.

Fifteen got France 2 Eire 1. Even me!

13 got the Swiss-Polish score draw. Even me! Again!

12 got the bore off Wales 1 N Ireland 0. But NI played sooooo well didn’t they?

6 got lucky with Italy 2 Spain 0 thanks to Pab-a-Like Pelle’s thumping finish in the last minute (Rob C was particularly upset by that one!)

Suffice to say my sorry performance so far has improved and the desperate position of predicting the opposite of what I want to happen to protect my on-going bets is doing the trick! The faint hope of a France – Portugal final is now very much still on…did I tell you I backed Iceland @ 100/1 at the start too?! I did, in the last update didn’t I? Imagine…

Next round up will be with you next Monday!

Cheers

Pab
