PAS Euro ’16 Last Sixteen round up

Hola!

The updated table can be found here

So, after 44 games (the last one in the Last 16 was England v Iceland, ahem…), Debbie L has had the lead taken away by a very impressive Howard Thomas 60 (10) who, it seems, has taken his Viking”bonus” points with some aplomb & used them to full advantage as he pulls 7 points clear of the chasing pack…

Alex Rossi led the Last 16 stage way with 15 (3) and without any bonus points!

However, it’s close at the top with at least 8 players all making a case to be the eventual winner…

Francis B is no longer rooted to the bottom as newbie Jessica So 21 (1) takes over the mantle of basement girl – 6 others posting sub-twenty five point returns so far are trying their hardest to wrestle the wooden spoon away for themselves…

Four players trailed in last for the Last 16 matches with a very very bleak tally of 2 (0)!

The prize money info is here btw…and on the table too!

As you can see we have a bumper field so the prize fund is bountiful – even when we’ve siphoned off funds for the upcoming PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’16 (£200) and PAS CL 2016-17 (£200) – good work people and make sure you get involved in both those upcoming competitions!

So, we continue into the Quarter Finals (they start Thursday!) – fixtures are up for you to start predicting – so get to it…

Best correct score of the tournament so far is still with Francesca Fernandez for her “I’ll-tell-you-my-PAS-secrets-in-a-vlog-very-soon-but-working-on-my-presentation-skills…still”, Ukraine 0 Norn Iron 2.

19 got the Germans very efficient 3-0 break-up of Slovakia.

Fifteen got France 2 Eire 1. Even me!

13 got the Swiss-Polish score draw. Even me! Again!

12 got the bore off Wales 1 N Ireland 0. But NI played sooooo well didn’t they?

6 got lucky with Italy 2 Spain 0 thanks to Pab-a-Like Pelle’s thumping finish in the last minute (Rob C was particularly upset by that one!)

Suffice to say my sorry performance so far has improved and the desperate position of predicting the opposite of what I want to happen to protect my on-going bets is doing the trick! The faint hope of a France – Portugal final is now very much still on…did I tell you I backed Iceland @ 100/1 at the start too?! I did, in the last update didn’t I? Imagine…

Next round up will be with you next Monday!

Cheers

PAS Euro ’16 Group Stage Part 2 round up

Hola!

The updated table can be found here

So, after the first 36 games (the last one in Part Two was Sweden v Belgium), Andy F has had the lead taken away by a very impressive Debbie Lee 48 (9) who, it seems, has taken to tournament football a lot better than the domestic PAS! And  she’s not benefited from any “bonus” goals…

Jamie Sellers led the Group stage way with 22 (2) but only courtesy of 5 bonus points!

However, it’s close at the top with at least 16 players all making a case to be the eventual winner…

Richard H is no longer rooted to the bottom as newbie Francis Ball 14 (1) takes over the mantle of basement boy – 6 others posting sub-twenty point returns so far are trying their hardest to wrestle the wooden spoon away for themselves…

Eddie Osborne trailed in last for the Group Stage 2 matches with a very Rowan M-esque, nay, Debbie Lee-esque tally of 4 (0)!

The prize money info is here btw…

26 got the Vikings honourable, if unlucky 1-1 with the Magyars.

Ten got Spain 3 Turkey 0. Hmmphhh.

4 got Italy 0 Eire 1 (how??!) and four more got the David DeGea inspired Croatia 2 Spain 1

Richard H got lucky with Czech Rep 0 Turkey 2, David G got the unbelievable Austria 0 Portugal 0 & Alex R smashed in a 5 pointer with Belgium 3 Eire 0!

Suffice to say my sorry performance so far has improved slightly and the desperate position of predicting the opposite of what I want to happen to protect my on-going bets appears to be doing the trick! PAS Euro ’16 Group Stage Part 1 round up

Hola!

The first table can be found here

So, after the first 18 games (the last one in Part One was Germany v Poland), Andy Fowler leads the way with a very impressive 37 points considering he’s not benefited from any “bonus” goals!

Apart from the Toffeeman, it’s close at the top with over half the field all making a case to be the eventual winner…

Richard Hughes is rooted to the bottom with 3 more sub-double digit scorers trying their hardest to wrestle the wooden spoon away for themselves…

The table ISN’T displaying any team’s “round progression” points as yet, but don’t fear, once the Last 16 are confirmed the points will be allocated accordingly…

The prize money info is here btw…

Well actually it’s not there yet as we’re still waiting on Dave C, Arthur H & Eddie O to confirm their participation by transferring their tenners! C’mon chaps!

I can tell you though we have a bumper field so the prize fund will be bountiful even when we siphon off funds for the upcoming PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’16 and PAS CL 2016-17 – good work people!

So, we continue into the Group Stage Part 2 (well, they started today!) – fixtures are up for you to start predicting – so get to it…

Suffice to say my sorry performance so far has me in the sad, desperate position of predicting the opposite of what I want to happen to protect my on-going bets. Is the faint hope of a France – Portugal final really worth sacrificing a PAS Champions League spot for? Jeez, how did it get to this….

Anyway, best correct score of the tournament so far is with Francesca Fernandez for her “I’ll-tell-you-my-PAS-secrets-in-a-vlog-very-soon”, Ukraine 0 Norn Iron 2.

36 got the Rwoy is a tactical genius, England 2 Wales 1.

Seven got England 1 Russia 1. Last minute steal – grrrrr! For me I mean, not just “our boys”…

Ross B, Mark F & Norman L got the CR7 annoying Portugal 1 Iceland 1 (who knew Bejams would come do far! *millennials, ask your mum, actually, your nan…)

Francesca F (again!) got Germany 0 Poland 0. This girl is good! I taught her all I know…erm, hold on, maybe she’s learnt from my mistakes?

Next round up will be with you on Thursday!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’16 final table round up!

Final Table News:

“The Bomb”: It was one hell of a ding dong at the top for pretty much the whole season but it was a real dark horse that ultimately timed his run on the rails to perfection! He started way down in 65th, climbed to 28th, then back into mid table mediocrity until Week 6.

Once ensconced in the Top 20, he gradually went up to 13 – only to drop in Week 8 to the hellish depths of seventeenth! (God, imagine…57th was a dream for me!)

However, a recovery up to 10th was cemented and once he hit the Top 10 in Week 9 he stayed there!

Climbing to 6th, then 3rd before a slight blip down to 4th…and then –

Hats off & congrats to Danny Ashworth 314 (42) – you’re a winner!

Danny ended on a 3 point lead over another dark horse (with the same moniker) Dan Pelgrom in second place, (who, impressively,  wasn’t out the Top 11 after Week 3!) who in turn finished 5 points ahead of Nick Hogowood in third place. Another dark horse, who isn’t called Dan (but has a son who is), left it late to crash the Top 10 but hung in there from Week 9. A fine season for 2nd & 3rd as they are currently contesting the PAS Cup Final too…

Just two correct scores further behind, Tony Bowley & Pete Britton  couldn’t be separated right up to the end after a whole season of being side by side (usually in the Top 3) finishing in fourth spot with now perennial prize money botherer, Peter Morley scooping 6th place just another 3 points shy. A nice add to his PAS Cup semi-final appearance.

Old skooler Charlie Harris & syndicate topboy Jason Morris were another duo who couldn’t be split in 7th just another three points behind. A nice add for Jason too, after a PAS Cup semi-final appearance…

Only another three points behind, newcomer John King finished in ninth (a fine debut sir!) and another 1 point back, another newbie Lee Ford (another fine debut sir!) landed in 10th place netting the last of the “big prizes”courtesy of a measly 5 correct scores… *smiley face*

“Danger UXB”: You have to say even our champion couldn’t possibly be more happier then the rest of us to see  Mr 2-0 189 (11) rooted to the bottom 8 points adrift of the field. Our fictional foe takes the wooden spoon much to the relief of myself as it’s saved me having to “make” another wooden spoon…(you can’t give it to someone who doesn’t exist can you?! Can you?)

Anders H & Juian F made gallant efforts over the season to save Mr 2-0’s blushes but to no avail – good lads!

Spot Prizers: OK, YOU have finished on these positions and you HAVE won those prizes!

Scott Harrison on 11th, Dave Nicklin on 12th, Kate Hopper on 17th, Sam Craig on 25th, Savan Arora on 33rd, Predictz on 34th, Alex Taylor on 38th, Gary Blackburne on 49th, Shashi Arora on 60th, Debbie Lee on 67th, Moi on 78th, Sophie Bracegirdle on 80th & Julian Fernandez on 82nd.

click here to view the full table & to see how much you won!

*** all prize money will be winging its way over this weekend (less your PAS Euro ’16 entry fee) – promise! ***

And Another Thing: The other little bits…

Sam Craig picked up an additional £11 for getting the Best Weekly Score of the Season –  44(7)

Rich Lee picked up £8 for getting the Best Correct Score of the Season – Chelsea 5 Man City 1.

PAS Euro 2016? Congratulations to Jamie Sellers for sneaking the last spot (rules, entry fee details & scoresheets coming soon!)

Plaudits

Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to enter, we couldn’t do it without you!

And a final big thank you to Dave N & Dan H for providing all the behind the scenes techky stuff to enable another great (relatively glitch free!) season…check the new “feel” on the site! Apparently it’s absolutely mint now for mobile users…nope, me neither.

See you in June!

Cheers,
Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’16 Week 13 round up!

Everything In Its Right Place”: You can tell it’s the end of the season – people put down crazy scores, crazy scores come in. Mr 2-0 is oversubscribed as people “forget” or drift off into the spring sunshine (well, maybe not in MCR). Form goes out the window & “coupon busters” are celebrated by bookies across the country. So how do you combat this perennial problem? Don’t ask me, I got the same as Mr 2-0 this week – grrrrr! (and I tried sooo hard!!!)

Maybe Neil Hyndeman 38 (7) can tell us how he came up on the blindside to slip the last £20 from Olly O’s hands? My money’s on the fact he knew that Mr Bony would hit the bar to keep a 2-2 scoreline at the Etihad…

Burn The Witch”: It’s the end of the season, there are crazy scores expected and the sun really was out with a vengance. Why bother doing your scores?

Mr 2-0 13 (1) is wondering just that. Even though he isn’t real and hasn’t got the cognitive skills to do such things…

Correct Score of the Week:

Not a bad effort people – most popular score was Nottm Forest’s 1-2 win at Franchise FC – 26 of youse got that!

Fourteen got Burnley’s nil – three away at Charlton

9 got the ding dong 2-2 between Citeh & The Arse

Eight got the tasty Leicester 3-1 win over hapless Everton.

7 somehow guessed Spurs 1 Southampton 2

Four got the, erm, 3-2 hammering meted out in Glasgow. The Tim bit of Glasgow.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Savan Arora for his two-in-a-row-is-trending inspired, Aston Villa 0 Newcastle 0.

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 83 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

Get in! Don’t say this too loud but I think I now know how do this successfully next season…

51.52% Crystal Palace V Stoke – you’re meant to save this for Man Yoo Dwight!

48.48% Middlesbrough V Brighton – soooooooooooo obvious (except to me obv)

45.45% Preston NE V Leeds – 92nd minute Hugill goal. Thank you!

So, £8.91 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 80th.

Table News:

2+2=5”: Two crash the Top Ten and highest climber this week, up a whopping 18 places is Neil Hyndeman – honourable mentions go to Simon Linds (+11), Olly O (+11), Jamie S (+11) Neil O (+13), Lindsay S (+12) and Rich L (+12)

Let Down”: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 16 places is Mark Seels – dishonourable mentions go to Gary B (-14), Neil M (-13), Mark F (-10) and Chris B (-14)

PAS Cup 2016:

2nd leg results can be found here

Final – “part two” May 28th

PAS Euros 2016:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euros (with a reduced entry fee & a designated team to win you extra points!) you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… you’ll have to wait until at least the Premership is over! Why? Cos it makes it exciting, that’s why….ha!

And Another Thing: Thankyou for taking part in another fab season – we couldn’t do it without you!

Please come back soon. Very soon! Actually it will June (eek!) for the Euros and you’ll be getting a constant stream of reminders…

Special thanks to Dan & Dave once again for all their tireless work behind the scenes – they’ve made us truly millennial!

Prize Money Update  – League, Cup & CL prize money will be paid out at the end of the season. So don’t worry, that nasty BHS man hasn’t got your winnings – I have!

That’s it for this season! Well, nearly….

Cheers,
Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’16 Week 12 round up!

Underdog”: If at first you don’t succeed – try, try, try doing it a bit different until you hit gold!

Well, this debutant has done exactly that this season and my, how it’s paid off – Richard Hughes 40 (6) was flailing with yours truly at the bottom of the table early in the season but has gradually dragged himself into respectable mid table obscurity with a doggedness that maybe only Leicester have recently demonstrated…

Congrats & £20 then to the poor man’s Josh Homme! You’re not so Sp*rs after all then are ya Dicky?!

Club Foot”: Pursuing a hat-trick of “Correct Score of the Week” accolades or mugging off your 10 year old son with Mr 2-0 scores really doesn’t do very much for you really. Don’t believe me? Just ask James Challinor & Rowan Marriott 12 (0) who share this week’s “Hall of Humiliation” membership…

Correct Score of the Week:

Not a bad effort people – most popular score was Nottm Forest’s 1-1 with Wolves – 26 of youse got that!

Seventeen got Celtic’s one – three away at the Jambos

14 got the ding dong 2-2 between Chelsea and Spurs

Chris D & Neil C came good with Barnsley 2-2 Colchester

Predictz & Tony M got the tasty Birmingham 2-2 draw with Middlesbro.

Simon Linds & Richard H somehow guessed Watford 3 Aston Villa 2

James L got the 3-0 hammering meted out in Brentford. I’ve already told you about Brentford…

Norman L owned Leeds 1 Charlton 2

Richard H got West Ham’s 0-3 tonking of West Brom

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Savan Arora for his I-need-9-points inspired, Ipswich 3 MK Dons 2.

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 83 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

Back to form i’m afraid –

45% Reading V Preston – 91st minute PNE winner did for us!

43.75% Stoke V Sunderland – Jermaine’s 94th minute equaliser did for us!

43.75% Hamilton V Kilmarnock – couldn’t have been more wrong really, Unless it was 0-5 of course…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 61st. *frowny face*

Table News:

Empire“: We have what Sky Sports would die for!

It will be last day drama as Pete Britton is joined by Tony Bowley at the top cos they can’t be separated by points or correct scores!

They in turn are just one point ahead of Jason M in third as the Top 7 all have a very realistic chance of winning the title…how exciting is that then?!

Scott H & Jon T crashed the Top Ten.

L.S.F.“: Anders Hoglund remains at the bottom only five points behind Julian F who in turn is 3 points off Mr 2-0 as the wooden spoon will be going to one of this tragic triptych

Fire“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 24 places is Richard Hughes – honourable mentions go to Neil M (+12), Ben H (+16), Jazz S (+14) and Neil H (+14)

Where Did All The Love Go?“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 17 places is James Challinor – dishonourable mentions go to Matt W (-10), Neil T (-14), Jack B (-12) and Jamie S (-12)

Click here for further details…

PAS Euros 2016:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euros (with a reduced entry fee & a designated team to win you extra points!) you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is our canary in a coalmine…Ben Hogwood!

And Another Thing:

Sp*rs didn’t win it and we might catch them now…imagine!

That’s it for this week – oh, follow us on @PabsPAS if only to see those late scores rolling in every week. you know, the ones that make you squeal or shriek in equal measure!

And remember to add #pabpas to see your tweet on the site – actually some away game pics would be good this season. Or some pics of away fans. Or home fans. Or just the match. Or players you’ve met. Anything. Food? Beers? Lovely vistas?

Actually, Twitter is over isn’t it…

Cheers,

Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’16 Week 11 round up!

Sexy MF”: It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new (lease of) life for them! Did you score over thirty points this week? Well done the five of you! If your dad did, wouldn’t you too? Well, I suppose if you followed your ol’ man into the same profession it’s a given isn’t it?!

Seems a shame this good doctor wasn’t The Purple One’s too though, cos he is good! Savan Arora 38 (6) went seven better than Arora Senior to take this week’s £20 with much gratitude to Mr Martial’s artful 93rd minute scouse heartbreaker – that saw him clear of mightily improved Neil T even when he missed he first two prediction as well!

Anyway it’s refreshing to see “strike time” put to good use Dr. S –  maybe PAS could substitute Ritalin? It’d certainly give the little f*ckers something to concentrate on! Just sayin’…

Gett Off”: …and a world away in the depths, getting under 10 points is always a shocker. Especially when your only partner in criminal scores isn’t even real!

More shockingly, the young man in question should be worrying the upper echelons of the table given that he’s give Rain Man a run for his money in most pursuits! Yep, Ben Marriott 6 (0) will no doubt be counting furiously in a corner blocking out the noises and over admonishing himself for this epic of fails.

Many thought his dad fled Poland to take advantage of generous housing allowances & well paid menial jobs this sceptre’d isle has to offer. But no, young Ben was banished for card counting in a Gdansk casino. As any discerning communist will tell you, taking money isn’t very “comrade” and it’s more than a slight on the memory of Lech Walesa. Noski!

So Ben reapplied himself dedicating his “skills” to things like memorising the top 100 horror films of all time (replete with top line synopsis), naming in order the top 300 most deadly & dangerous animals in the world (with genesis) and doing 4,000 sit ups a day whilst analysing the understated nuances of north American offshore trading hubs. He’s a busy boy. Too busy for PAS it would appear – must try harder Ben.

Correct Score of the Week:

You did well this week – most popular score was Huddersfield’s 1-1 with Birmingham – 22 of youse got that!

8 got the dull all between Wolves and Rotherham

Six got Brighton’s one – three away at the beach in Charlton

6 got the ding dong 2-2 between Liverpool and Newcastle

Six more were spot on with the shellacking in Manchester

4 came good with Sheff Utd 0-0 Barnsley

Four more had Inverness 3 Kilmarnock 1

Another 4 got the 0-3 hammering meted out in Colchester. Is there a good part of Colchester?

Shashi A / James L / Lee P somehow guessed Celtic 1 Ross Co 1

Scott H  / Howard T / Dan H quite rightly said Rotherham v Forest would finish two apiece

John K & Savan A got the tasty Hull 2-2 draw with Leeds.

Neil O owned Spurs 1 WBA 1

Neil T got Sunderland’s 0-0 tonking of Arsenal

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Ross Butcher for his James C double inspired, Fulham 1 Nottm Forest 3.

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 83 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We wooooooooooooooonnnnnn!

53.42% Partick V Dundee – denied by an 81st minute goal!

47.95% Huddersfield V Birmingham – secured with an 82nd minute goal!

45.21% Blackburn V Bristol City – get in Danny Graham!

and look what was lurking as fourth popular – grrrrr

41.1% Wolves V Rotherham

So, £7.90 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd.

Table News:

Diamonds & Pearls“: We have a new leader! Pete Britton moves up 2 places to the top 2 points ahead of Tony B who in turn is five points ahead of Danny A in third as the race for the title really hots up…

No one crashed the Top Ten.

When Doves Cry“: Anders Hoglund slides to the bottom eight points behind Mr 2-0 who in turn is still 2 points off Julian F as the bottom three remain the same…sort’ve.

And Another Thing:

Sp*rs aren’t gonna win it now are they…(yay!)

Just me & James C then yeah?!

Actually, Twitter is over isn’t it…

Cheers,

Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’16 Week 10 round up!

Starchild”: Howay man! Tino’s shirt on a flag celebration! Mirandinha’s gloves! Wor Jackie! Phillipe mugging off Peter! Alan Gowling’s sweatbands! Super Mac’s gob! Ham & pease pudding stotties! Broon in a half pint glass! Clarty charvers at The Hoppings! Raaaaaaapha Benitez! Barry Venison’s barnet even!

You gotta love The Toon and the Toon loves PAS despite only having two of their brethren in the Top 32 (actually, one of them does the scores in the back end! Hmmmm anyway,,,), Top Geordie Jon Tofeili 36 (6) – yes, that’s right, you recognise him from “Pointless” way back when before it was “trendy”- especially loves PAS this week as he got his magpie claws into the shiny £20 prize! He has the Leeds (Leeds! Leeds!) 3-2 nine pointer to thank. Or was it Josh King’s 93rd minute consolation v Liverpool? Or Carl Ikene’s blooper-esque 93rd minute own goal away at Hull? Whatever, the boy done good – champion!

The Sun Goes Down”: One – nil! Two – one! Three – one! Seven – nil! Four – three! Three – nil! Thirty six – nil (yes, that did happen)! Four – nil! Four – two! Nine – nil! Five – two! Eight – two (yep, that happened too *sob*) even!

You gotta love it when a home win notches up a double digit tally and we love to see a “blanket score” home win splutter & crash especially when it’s Mr 2-0 7 (0) finishing exactly where we want him this week!

Ha!

And, his three hapless disciples really have been rewarded for their lack of commitment this week – Championship!

Correct Score of the Week:

The uniques doin’ it again this week – most popular score was Burnley’s 1-2 win at Birmingham – 30 of youse got that!

8 got the ding dong 2-2 between Leicester 1-0 and West Ham

Dave N / Lindsay S / Jon T nailed the thrilllllling 3-2 at Elland Road

Lee P & Jason M came good with Burton Albion 0-0 Barnsley

Danny A & Jamie T got the dull-all Scottish Cup semi final

Jamie T (again!) & Chris B quite rightly said Rotherham v Forest would finish goalless

Brett A got the 0-3 hammering meted out in West London. The wrong bit of West London (Brentford is the good bit – check “People Just Do Nothing” if you don’t believe me..)

Gary B got the tasty Palace 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

Shashi A somehow guessed Blackburn 0 Huddersfield 2

Dave C owned Exeter 0 Northampton 0

Richard H got QPR’s bore draw at Cardiff

However, this week’s best correct score goes to James Cha- I mean, Ross Butcher for his ’61 inspired, Stoke 0 Spurs 4.

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 83 of you who entered predictions and guess what?! Yeah, we ignored that and went for games with over 3.5 goals instead…and guess what?

13.16% Colchester V Peterborough – banker really!

10.53% Burton Albion V Barnsley – couldn’t have got more wrong could we?!

10.53% Rangers V Celtic – unfortunately 120 minutes doen’t count – grrr,,,

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th.

Table News:

Weave Your Spell“: Tony Bowley stays top but now only 2 points ahead of Nick H who in turn is one point ahead of Pete B in third as the peleton gains ominously on the long time leader…

Peter M, Martin S & Lee F crash the Top Ten.

Hot Water“: Julian Fernandez stays stuck to the bottom now a mere four points behind Anders H who in turn is still 8 points off Mr 2-0 (ha!) as the bottom three remain the same…

Something About You“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 17 places are Jon Tofeili & Dave Crisp – honourable mentions go to Lee F (+10), Mark F (+13), Chris B (+16) and Ben H (+10)

Sandstorm“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 20 places is Savan Arora – dishonourable mentions go to George T (-13), Neil M (-10), Paul V (-14) and John K (-12)
