PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’14 Week 6 round up

You Take My Breath Away”: Howay, it was a reet ol’ ding-dong for top spot this week with the top three separated by just 2 points! And, although we couldn’t split second & third, ex-Pointless star Jon Tofeili 35 (7) was anything but as some celtic Jocks helped out a Geordie courtesy of an injury time goal! No doubt there’ll be dancing on the streets of Ponteland tonight! Well, £20’s worth of dancing. That’s quite a lot of Broon Ale isn’t it?

Silent Shout”: Beginners luck is one thing but beginner’s catastrophe is very much something else! Welocme to PAS James Lee 9(0) you’ve truly arrived!

Correct Score of the Week: Some very good form in evidence again – most popular score was Celtic’s last gasp win at Pittodrie (I had 1-1 *sigh*) – 30 of youse got that!

5 got the 3-1 at Craven Cottage, 5 more got Birmingham’s 0-0 v Cardiff City.

4 got QPR’s 2-2 thrashing of Man City.

Four more got the south Yorkshire stalemate between Sheff Wed & Rotherham.

Even four more got the 3-1 in Leeds…

Julian F & David G got Swansea 2 Arsenal 1(see Theo has got his touch back then…) and Neil C & Michelle F had West Ham drawing with Villa 0-0.

Paul C & Savan A landed the Friday night 5 pointer at the Macron Stadium (the Reebok to the rest of us).

James C got Man Utd 1 Palace 0 (thanks to a post & F Campbell) and Shashi A had the very entertaining (no, really!) Middlesbro 0 Bournemouth 0.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Will Oppong for his Cup-tastic, Luton Town 4 Newport County 2.

Bet of the Week:

Votes: 27

Selections: Sunderland – Everton 40% / Man Utd – C Palace 37% / Leeds Utd – Blackpool 37%

Prize Slot: 33rd

Returns: £0. Confusion reigned! The glitch barring votes didn’t help the low turn out and one punter even managed to vote at 12.51 when the poll was meant to close at 11am??! Shame he didn’t get in earlier cos it would have changed Leeds for Kilmarnock – duh!

Ahhh well, we’re slowly getting better at this…

Don’t forget to cast your vote EVERY week and make sure you do it by 10am Saturday!

Table News:

Full Of Fire“: David Goggin stays top but now with only a 4 point lead ahead of Richard H who in turn is 1 point ahead of Dan H in third.

Ryan G & newbie Alex T crash the Top Ten…

Is It Medicine“: Yowsers! Donna Edmead stays anchored to the bottom six points behind Reda A who in turn is 1 point away from Felix H (RIP)…

Heartbeats“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 26 places is Jon Tofeili – honourable mentions go to Steve M (+18), Neil C (+20) and Will O (+18).

Pass This On“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 19 places is James Lee – dishonourable mentions go to Eddie O (-13), Mark S (-15) and Graham E (-13).

PAS Cup 2015: In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2015 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…new man, Peter Morley!

PAS Champions League 2014/15: Quite quiet compared to previous matchdays to be honest – a fair few hammerings were meted out, two recorded their first point leaving one hapless entrant all alone on “nul point” & one 1 point heartbreaker….oh, and unlike Dortmund but very like Arsenal, no one has actually qualified for the knock out stages yet!

Matchday 3 fixtures & results can be found here

And Another Thing:

Trouble with your PC/rubbish work computer/tablet?

Why don’t you be ultra-modern and use your phone to submit your scores!

Dan H has worked tirelessly to enable & improve access via mobile devices so it’d be rude not to…and i’m told it’s easy peasy to do!

That’s it for this week – oh, you on Twitter yet? Noticed anything??

We’ve got some very cool things in the pipeline for all our followers so make sure you don’t miss out!!

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’14 Week 5 round up

I”: Syndicated party time this week as Richard Hirst 40 (7) pulled a trick to treat himself by ghosting past Simon B courtesy of Aberdeen’s 0-1 win in the Highlands on Monday night. Neil T wasn’t far off either in a pretty widescale high scoring week – horror show then if you didn’t break the 20 point mark! Congrats Ricardo, £20 heading into Mr Seels’ account…is that scary?

So Oh”: Dan R was obviously more knackered than he thought after this marathon (did your sis beat ya Dan?!) last week clocking in with a woeful 14 (0) but what excuse has Neil Critchlow 13 (1) ? Maybe it’s all that country air you moved to mate…

Correct Score of the Week: Some cracking unique scores this week – most popular score was Watford’s 3-1 win over Millwall  – 19 of youse got that!

8 got the 3-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium, 8 more got Blackburn’s 3-1 v Reading and six got Dundee Utd’s 3-0 against St Mirren.

5 got the 2-2 between Stoke & West Ham.

Clare T & Dave T got Newcastle 1 Liverpool 0.

Dan H & Predictz got Huddersfield 3 – 0 Nottm Forest.

Dan R (again!) somehow dreamed up Citeh beating Man Yoo 1-0!

Shashi A landed the 5 pointer at Selhurst Park.

Debbie L got Rotherham 0 Middlesbrough 3 and Clare T (again!) had Everton 0 Swansea 0.

Steve M got nine points for his Bournemouth 3 Brighton 2.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Dave Crisp for his frankly, quite ridiculous, Wigan 3 Fulham 3.

Bet of the Week:

Votes: 36

Selections: Man Utd – Man City 26% / Leicester v WBA 22% / Huddersfield – Nottm For 19%

Prize Slot: 11th

Returns: £0. Don’t be too hard on yourselves as only two out the seven choices actually had both team scoring. Who knew?

Don’t forget to cast your vote EVERY week and make sure you do it by 10am Saturday!

Table News:

Glory Days“: David Goggin stays top with only a 6 point lead ahead of Dan H who in turn is seven points ahead of Richard H in third.

Simon B & Neil T crash the Top Ten…

Low“: Yeeoow! Donna Edmead goes down 1 place to the bottom one point behind Reda A who in turn is 3 points away from Stuart F…

In The Heat Of The Moment“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 21 places is Savan Arora – honourable mentions go to Nick H (+19), Mark S (+16), Danny A (+17), James L (+20) and Sam A (+18)

Rattlesnake“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 21 places is Neil Critchlow – dishonourable mentions go to Dan R (-16), George T (-15), Norman L (-15), Paul V (-15), Ryan G (-16), Neil O (-14), David N (-14) and Will O (-14)

PAS Cup 2015:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2015 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is….newcomer, Peter Morley.

PAS Champions League 2014/15:

Could be a pivotal week in terms of qualification to the knockout stages – Matchday 3 fixtures can be found here

If you’re at “home” – don’t forget to play your “joker”!

And Another Thing:

Just in case people have noticed the intermittent “void” status…just to allay any concerns, it’s a display issue only – saved predictions unaffected, weekly points will be unaffected! So there.

Trouble with your PC/rubbish work computer/tablet?

Why don’t you be ultra-modern and use your phone to submit your scores!

Dan H has worked tirelessly to enable & improve access via mobile devices so it’d be rude not to…and i’m told it’s easy peasy to do!

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’14 Week 4 round up

Rocco”: Oooh it was a right ol’ ding-dong for top spot this week with the top three separated by just 3 points! And, although we couldn’t split second & third, everyone’s fave faux Scouser Alex Rossi 33 (5) dipped into that bin marked “last kick of the game goal from a hated rival” and netted this week’s £20! Well done lah, a score – not to be sniffed at…

Let Down”: It’s dark(o) days being a Leeds fan at the moment so don’t be surprised if Dave Tagger 9(0) gives himself two more weeks before sacking himself or ditching that single vent purple mohair suit & selling that Vespa with 17 mirrors…

Correct Score of the Week: Another week of tip-top predicting – most popular score was Wolverhampton’s win in the principality of West Ridings – 23 of youse got that!

9 got the 0-0 at Firhill, 7 got Reading’s 3-0 v Blackpool and 7 more got WBA’s 2-2 against Palace.

5 got the 1-3 between Burnley & Everton & five more got “Desmond” in Ipswich.

Four got Sheff Wed 0 Norwich 0.

Rob C, Dan R & Eddie O got Bolton 3 – 1 Brentford and David G & Jon T somehow imagined West Ham beating Citeh 2-1!

James C & Arthur H landed the 5 pointer at Oakwell.

Neil C got Derby 1 Wigan 2 (much to the chagrin of our Dan H!) and James L had St Mirren 2 Ross County 2.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Carter for his 18 month Anfield wait, Liverpool 0 Hull 0.

Bet of the Week:

Votes: 35

Selections: Sheff Wed – Norwich 19% /Inverness – Dundee Utd 17% / QPR – Villa 13%

Prize Slot: 65th

Returns: £0. A late flurry for Man Utd-Chelsea came just too late people! I waited til 10.30 to put the bet on and QPR v Villa was just edging it at that point – grrrr! What can I say – do it early people so we don’t miss out!

Don’t forget to cast your vote EVERY week and make sure you do it by 10am Saturday!

Table News:

The Best Day“: David Goggin stays top with a 15 point lead ahead of Dan H who in turn is 5 points ahead of Alex R in third.

Jazz S & newbie Stephen M crash the Top Ten…

Bad Reputation“: Ouch! Reda Allam goes down 3 places to the bottom of the pile four points behind Donna E who in turn is 4 points away from Pete B…

Heaven’s Made For Two“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 18 places are Tony Bowley & James Lee – honourable mentions go to Julian F (+16), Dan R (+16), Will O (+13), Scott H (+17) and Neil T (+13)

Kill The Fun“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 27 places is Dave Tagger – dishonourable mentions go to Nick H (-17), Stephen S (-18), Mark S (-23), Ben McK (-18), Doug The Pug (-23), Stephen P (-18) and Jamie T (-18)

PAS Cup 2015:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2015 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…music world Sp*rs person, Simon Lindsay.

PAS Champions League 2014/15: A whole bunch of “1 point” last gasp wins, a humdinger of a Guardian derby, a draw (!) and a “correct score” heartbreaker…who needs UEFA!

Matchday 2 fixtures & results can be found here

And Another Thing: Thought you had a bad week predicting? Spare a thought for our very own Dan H who placed a free £10 bet on a 11 team acca (yeah, that’s what I thought) & watched Geoff tell him all of them came in (inc a PNE miracle) only for Derby to surrender a one goal lead to Wigan…put it this way, he would’ve probably built HAL with all the money he could’ve won!

Trouble with your PC/rubbish work computer/tablet?

Why don’t you be ultra-modern and use your phone to submit your scores!

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’14 Week 3 round up

Hola,

I’m sorry to report some sad news – my good friend & fellow PASer Felix Hines passed away on Saturday aged just 41. It was sudden and obviously a great shock to us all. I won’t bore you with tales of what we did & didn’t do but I will tell you he was a genuine top fella – cool, laid back (to point of being horizontal), wicked sense of humour and impeccable taste in music. He’ll be sorely missed…

Understandably, this weeks round up will be very low key but we’ll be back to normal next week – i’m gonna leave Felix in the standings as he wasn’t one for fuss or wailing or gnashing of teeth. Let’s hope Mr 2-0 gives him the send off he deserves…

For posterity then, here’s what happened on Week 3

Weekly Winner : Dan Hogwood 36 (6)

Worst Score : Neil Critchlow, Chris Marriott, Mark J Brown & Pete Britton 11 (0)

Highest Climber : Simon Buxton (+29)

Biggest Faller: Mark J Brown (-26)

Best Correct Score : Neil Birchall (Ross County 0 Celtic 5)

Bet of the Week : +£1.70

Cheers,

Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’14 Week 2 round up

Had To Hear”: You’d think scoring 45 points would secure a weekly win wouldn’t you? But no, Neil O, it doesn’t. So, then you’d think getting 49(!) points would win you £20 yeah? Well no, actually, Kate H. It’s about being even better than that…

David Goggin 63 (9) pulled out the best weekly tally in PAS history to make his £10 intro entry stake seem like a very good investment indeed! Well done David, it’ll take some beating…

Hostiles”: Oh dear! I think the time difference in Australia was playing havoc with Paul Carter 13 (0) as he brings shame to all Poms abroad. Get yeself on walkabout mate, clears the mind apparently…

Correct Score of the Week: Another round of fine predicting – most popular score was Spain’s win in the principality of Luxemborg – 26 of us got that!

19 got the 5-0 at Wemberlee, 10 got Norway’s 0-3 v Malta and 6(!!!) got Belgium’s 6-0 against Andorra.

Chris M (welcome!), Olly O & David N (welcome too!) got the 2-2 between Poland & Scotland.

Simon Linds & David G got Holland 3 Kazakhstan 1 (how?!)

David G (again!) & Francesca F got Republic of Ireland 7 Gibraltar 0.

Martin S (welcome back!) got Liechtenstein 0 Montenegro 0 and John H had Italy 2 Azerbaijan 1.

However, this week’s best correct score, and new best correct score of the season, goes to Douglas “The Pug” Hogwood for his barking (see what I did there?!), Germany 1 Ireland 1 (!!).

Bet of the Week:

Votes: 33

Selections: Hol v Kaz 34% /Ire v Gib 27% /Bel v And 24%

Prize Slot: 33rd

Returns: £6.35. Good work people – we’re up & running!

Don’t forget to cast your vote EVERY week and make sure you do it by 10am Saturday!

Table News:

The Best Day“: Unsurprisingly David Goggin moves up 13 places to go 19 points (!) ahead of Kate H who in turn is 2 points ahead of Neil O in third.

Where No Eagles Fly“: Ooops! Jon Tofeili goes down 2 places to the bottom of the pile two points behind Paul C & Donna E.

Happy Idiot“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 45(!) places is Tony Morris – honourable mentions go to Arthur H (+42), Dan P (+35), Francesca F (+34), Norman L (+33) and Olly O (+32)

This Is Not About Us“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 42 places is Adhnan Zuel – dishonourable mentions go to Gary B (-40), Neil M (-39), Shashi A (-39), Neil B (-39) and Dave N (-38)

Click here for further details…

PAS Cup 2015:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2015 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…the Yam Yam Gooner, Rob Currin.

PAS Champions League 2014/15:

We’re off! Some big scores, a few heartbreakers, only 3 away wins, no draws and a tight Geordie derby settled by a “joker”…

Matchday 1 fixtures & results can be found here

And Another Thing:

Lots of payments have come in – thanks! Anyone who hasn’t got round to it, i’m naming & shaming next week…

Trouble with your PC/rubbish work computer/tablet?

Why don’t you be ultra-modern and use your phone to submit your scores!

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’14 Week 1 round-up

Sweetest Thing”:

If you’re gonna win a week might as well do it early! Congrats then to Paul Vinson 38 (6) who raced away from the opposition (the closest was Dave C 7 points back!) with a Super Sunday to win in, let’s be honest here, a tricky week for predicting scores. Congratsm you’re the first £20 weekly prize winner of the season! #firstcutisthedeepest

Repeated Offender”:

If you’re gonna fail you might as well fail in the first week eh?! Stephen Peaston 7 (0) is all alone (well, Donna E is v close neighbour!) at the bottom and really needs to shake off the “Pardews” sharpish! Commiserations SRP, you’re our first weekly loser! #cutmeloose

Correct Score of the Week:

Wow! Quite a few correct scores knocking about (despite the mad scorelines)… most popular score was Leeds Utd’s 1-1 draw with Yorkshire rivals Sheff Wednesday – 23 of youse got that!

6 got the 1-1 in the Scottish Highlands derby and 6 got the “Desmond” between Forest & Ipswich.

5 got the 2-2 at Moulineux and Dave C, Arthur H & David N got another two-two between The Swans & The Toon.

Paul C & Paul V got the 3-1 involving Partick & Motherwell.

Anders H & Yours Truly just knew Millwall would draw 0-0 with Derby and Michelle F & Shashi A got a fine Leicester 2 Burnley 2.

Chris M & Paul V (again) got Aberdeen’s 9 point thriller at Dundee.

Alex R got Norwich 1 Rotherham 1.

Neil C got the 0-0 in Blackburn.

However, this week’s best correct score and therefore best correct of the season so far, goes to debutant Adhnan Zuel for his beginners-luck inspired, Brentford 3 Reading 1.

Bet of the Week:

We had varying degrees of success with this last season so we’ve stuck with it and this week’s 75p trixie went as follows –

Votes: 47

Selections: Norwich 25% /Leicester 20% /Derby 20%

Prize Slot: 11th

Returns: £0. Boo! Wipeout! Not the best start eh?

Don’t forget to cast your vote EVERY week but make sure you do it by 10am on this Friday due to the annoying internationals week!

Table News:

It’s Week 1 – it is what it is! Click here for details…

Please be aware we may lose some players (rubbish monkeys) but we may gain some (especially as Mr 2-0 had a good showing!) so if you know anyone out there who wants to get involved, put them in touch tout suite!

PAS Champions League 2013/14:

Starts next week! Matchday 1 fixtures can be found here

Please note Ryan Graves will take the place of the AWOL Paul Campbell…

If you’re at “home” – don’t forget to play your “joker”!

PAS Cup 2015:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2015 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…our very own interweb whizz, Dan Hogwood.

And Another Thing:

Lots of payments have come in – thanks! Anyone who hasn’t got round to it, please do as soon as possible – don’t make me chase you!

Follow us on @pabspace and remember to add the #pabpas to see your tweet on the site!

We’ve got some very cool things in the pipeline for all our followers so make sure you don’t miss out!!

Cheers,
Pab

ps – if you’re below Doug Hogwood in the table, please be aware you’re getting beat by a dog. Yeah, a dog! A pug. Who picks his scores by sniffing or eating strategically placed treats. A bit like that octopus. But with only 4 limbs.

Frankie has got an excuse –  she’s 6. And a girl….
