PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’23 Week 1 round up

Ola!, i’m Number One…

Only You:

We’re back! With a bang!

No, not Arsenal – PAS!

Anyway…

I’ll cut to the chase (sort’ve) as it was all about The Girls this week – and, 4 of the 7 we have signed up this season finished 11th or higher – go girls!

Emma T made an impressive return to the fold and Debbie L has probably got a nosebleed being so high in the Top Ten.

Kate S continues to use the resources at her disposal to great effect but was denied the £20 weekly prize by a girl who has perfected the art of “getting things done” –  for her…

Friday after school :

“Frankie, you need to do your scores, it’s Week 1 and you’re in the CL this season!”

“Cool! Yeah, will do..”

Friday 19:57 :

No scores entered so I put 0-3 for her based on my 0-4 prediction…

Saturday 09:00 :

“You didn’t do your score last night but still got 5 points, make sure you do your scores when you’re back from drama…”

“Cool! Yeah, will do…”

Saturday 12:15 :

No scores entered so I do her scores for her based on her normal, “the higher placed team will beat the lower placed team by one goal unless they’re away, then it will be draw” method + not replicating any of my scores

Monday 22:00 :

I limp home with a score less than Mr 2-0 (having been denied a correct score at least twice thanks to 90th min+ goals) and Frankie Fernandez rocks up with 44 (9)

NINE CORRECT SCORES!!! I’ve never got 9 correct scores EVER!

And when I do, they’re not for me…

I hate PAS.

Ahem, congrats lovely daughter, £20 (that I paid anyway) winging its way back to you my darling…

I’m sure you’ll spend it wisely.

Don’t Go:

Did you score 25 points+ this week?

Wow, we’re in awe…

Eighteen of you managed that but 18 punters couldn’t manage more than 15 points this week  – and four couldn’t muster a correct score.

Shocking.

Not as shocking as the 2 that didn’t break double figures this week though!

Darren McC was spared big blushes courtesy of another scouse tragedy – yep, Mark Seels 7 (0) – it really was a weekend to forget mate…

Correct Score of the Week:

Proper mad scores this week…most popular score was Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 draw with Brentford – 27 of us got that!

Six were all over the 0-3 to the Sunderland on Friday night

5 (FIVE!) thrilled at the thrilling Wrexham 3 Crewe 3

Martin S, Matt M & Luke S decided to deploy catenaccio to reap the rewards at Hibs. And they did…

Howard T, Sam A & Chris D were well away with the 1-3 away win for Oxford Utd

Paul V & Debbie L were grateful for the 3-1 Southampton win over Leeds Utd

Ben McK & Matthew S revelled in the schadenfreude of Arsenal’s late late show at Bournemouth

Roshan T will shout out loud about the humbling of Everton by Luton Town

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Will Oppong for his I-like-rugby-and-this-was-always-going-to-be-trying-for-Rovers inspired, Blackburn 1 Leicester City 4!

Bet of the Week:

So, we’ve failed quite spectacularly in the last few seasons on this – actually, we’ve always failed.

But last season, we did alright. Welllllll, alright(ish)…

So!

We’re being brave and we’re gonna stick with it to see how we go!

How?

Whoever is on the “Bet of the Week” position for the following week will be asked to provide a treble selection so we can place the allocated £3 for the bet.

The winnings will stay on that slot and collected by the lucky person residing there at the end of Week 13.

Got that? No?!

OK…

The person on 83rd will make the selections for Week 2, the person on 60th in Week 2 will make the selections for Week 3,the person on 45th in Week 3 will make the selections for Week 4 and the person on 33rd in Week 4 will make the selections for Week 5 and back round again to 83rd…yeah?!

Good.

So, newbie Gary Mitchell is first up.

Mr M, I need your 3 selections by Friday please! It can be homes, aways or draws. It doesn’t have to be football! It can be horses! Or dogs! Or fighting crickets! But not cricket…that’s a step too far!

Let’s get off to a winning start for a change.

No pressure mate..

Table News:

It’s Week 1 – it is what it is! Click here for the full table

Please be aware we lost quite a few players but we can still gain some more (thanks to those of you who recruited the newbies this season – love youse!) – so if you know anyone out there who wants to get involved, put them in touch! It’s never too late…they’ll get a respectable Mr 2-0 20 (4) for Week 1 to boot!

PAS Cup 2024:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2024 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is the Darlo darling…Dom Webber!

And Another Thing:

Would I really smirk if Spurs won the League and Harry went empty handed in Munich?

Would I really smirk if that VAR cost Liverpool the title?

I really would smirk if Kai went on to win the Golden Boot…

Oh, and if you’re doing Sky Super 6 you need to join our league!

PAS Sky Super 6 League too (pabPAS – pin: KCTRQ3)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 final table round up

“Pep Talk”:

So, who won?

Well, I think you all guessed…

Letting the “this-is-how-to-win-a-league-title” weekly performances do the talking “on the pitch” and opting to stay away from our What’s App group (erm, the rest of youse are all on that aren’t you?!) paid dividends (yet again!) despite missing out on giving it pelters to the “bottlers”, as is the want of everyone on there…<shakes fist & sobs>

And, it was another pretty close, compacted & competitive season.

Whilst Citeh smoothly glided (glode?) their way to the Treble with their robotic belief & consistency in the real world, our champion pretty much emulated Mikel’s “Process” (but actually delivered) in the PAS victory!

A few players kinda threatened to win it, but…nah!

No one got really got that close in the end to a tally that now goes in, with a bullet, as the 14th “best winning score” ever!

To be perfectly frank, it really was an almost perfect campaign…

Our “Spring” champ started the season off at an easy 23rd, before jumping to 1st in Week 2 with a 43 points season high (and weekly win)

And there they remained for the duration…

Jeepers!

Any dips?

No.

Well, bar Week 8, when it was a season low of 15 points…

Week 12 was all about putting any challengers to the sword with a 32 point haul.

Now as a fully fledged PAS pro, all challengers were brushed aside with remarkable performance of concentrated consistency!

So, lords, ladies & gents, please be upstanding and doff your caps to Dan Wayman 367 (51) – He. Is. A. Winner! Again!!

That’s back to back League wins – a first in PAS history!

Bravo Mr W, you’re frightening everyone now…

Danny Boy won by a comprehensive 11 points from the “surprise package” Paul Henshaw in second place.

The “Top Syndicator” finished one point ahead of, the much improved, Peter Morley, in third spot.

Charlie Harris was a further four points behind, for yet another Top Ten finish, in the not-too-shabby 4th berth, with Francesca Fernandez 4 points shy in 5th – proudly flying the “Best In Clan” banner by using her wooden spoon from last year to stir up some startling form that also won her £20 from me in a bet about being “Top Girl of the Season” (yes, it really was misery maximus for me!)

Neil Meredith was 5 points behind in sixth spot. How “Liverpoolsy” of you Neil…

Just one correct score further back, Neil Osborne can reflect on a fine season, (2 x weekly wins!), finishing in seventh whilst in eighth place (only 1 point back), was a Spurs fan with something to shout about, Simon Lindsay. And, five points behind him in 9th, was the ever-improving Andy Kelly!

Relieved Evertonian Andy Fowler was just edged out by 2 correct scores, but grabbed 10th spot – courtesy of a single point – from Citizen Andy Chesworth (the casbah was rocked!)

“Arteta Process”:

Only 19 points, but 72 places, separated our new champion from our wooden spoon champion, Patricia Fernandez 241 (29) in Week 1!

Mothers, eh?!

Awkward…

Starting in 95th, my mum never really recovered.

Like a role model to consistent rubbish scoring, she stayed at 95th in Week 2, then…

Week 3 it was down to the Bottom.

And there she stayed with a season performance like an inverted Dan Wayman.

A ray of hope in Week 11, a season high of 31 points, came to nothing as securing the wooden spoon for a 4th time was already done.

Howard T, John J, Paul V, Lily T and a dazed & confused, hopelessly lost Tony M made gallant efforts over the season to save Tricia’s blushes, but…

Spot Prizers

Ok, YOU have finished on these positions AND you HAVE WON those prizes!

Jasper Marriott on 13th, Kate Slee on 17th, Richard Hirst on 23rd, Orla McKeown on 27th, Rowan Marriott on 33rd, Sam Osmond on 39th, Max Morgan on 42nd, Mr 2-0 on 45th, Stephen Harrison on 57th, Bijay Lama on 60th, Hira Yonzan on 65th, Greg Fleming & Nick Hogwood on 71st, Dilip Adhikari on 83rd, Dom Webber on 89th and John Jennings on 93rd…

Small victories kids – lap it up!

Click here to view the full table & to see how much you won!

*** all prize money will be winging its way over later this week – promise! Look out for that Monzo link notification on email/text/WA!***

PAS Champions League 2023/24 Group Stages

Congratulations to Stockport’s finest, Ric Pardoe, for sneaking the last spot (by one point!) for entry to PAS Champions League 2023/24 Group Stages.

The Top 32 have qualified and the big draw will take place when the real CL one does…

Other little bits

Deepak Bogati picks up £10 for getting the Best Weekly Score of the Season on International Week (Week 7) –  50 (8)

My mum picked up £5 for getting the Best Correct Score of the Season – Liverpool 3 Nottingham Forest 2!

Plaudits

Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to play, we couldn’t do it without you!

And a final big thank you to Dave N Dan H for providing all the behind-the-scenes tech stuff to enable another great (relatively glitch-free!) season…

See you in August PASers.

Cheers, and enjoy your summer…

Oooh, this popped up on the Guardian’s Fiver Football Daily…

“If Manchester City win the Champions League final 5-1, will the match be known as the InterCity 125?” – Richard Hirst.

And,

look at this from Sky Super 6!

come and have a go next season…I was always better at the smaller football games   : )

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 13 round up

“Proper…”

The Lion’s Roar:

This is late due to the PAS Cup semi-final replay.

So cast your mind back to the Coronation weekend…

Actually, don’t. I’ll just get on with the facts.

Only eight players scored 30 points or more in the final week of the season and they all could have won the £20 weekly prize.

In fact, the 10 that left Mr 2-0 in charge of their scores could have won it too.

And yes, all of them beat my score…

So lots of youse can count yourselves unlucky, but it was Peter Morley 33 (6) that came out as top dog with absolutely no luck involved given that 4 of his 6 correct scores were from the Scottish Premiership!

McImpressive!

Blue:

And in the final week of the season at the other end, eleven punters failed to get more than 15 points.

Seven didn’t get a correct score (spare a thought for Rowan M with his 18 points!).

One didn’t get into double figures.

Tony Morris 8 (0) is on the beach ladies & gents…

Correct Score of the Week:

Blimey, that was a week…most popular score was Hibernian’s 2-1 win over St Mirren – 23 of youse got that!

Seventeen said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for their Burnley 3 Cardiff 0

7 celebrated the bore draw between Wigan & Rotherham

Five had their secret prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at Kenilworth Road

Howard T, Justin C & Deepak B nabbed the form book upsetting Bournemouth 1 Chelsea 3

Olly O & Darren McC lapped up the 14 minutes of injury time joy of Exeter 3 Morecambe 2

Richard H just knew Bristol City would keep a clean sheet for a o-2 at QPR

El Presidente celebrated like Walsall at Highbury in ’83 after that 1-0 at Anfield

Luke S put us all to shame by predicting Spurs 1 C Palace 0

Paul H believed in Man City. A 2-1 kinda belief…

Dilip A thanked the Lord for Joe Piroe – his 93rd minute goal gifting a whole nine points at Swansea

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Orla McKeown for her I-knew-my-team-could-do-it-and-in-style-too inspired, PNE 0 Sunderland 3!

Bet of the Week:

Ryan Graves was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 12 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Oh dear.

He played it safe with a very conservative top-of-the-table Stirling to win at bottom-placed Albion, promotion-chasing Stockport to beat relegated Hartlepool, and scrambling Cambridge to beat relegated Forest Green…

L L W!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd leaving it on £8.02 – oh well…

Great effort from all our BoTWers this season.

Say it quietly, but I think we may be onto something here…but I always say that, don’t I….

Table News:

One crashed the Top Ten.

My Silver Lining”:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 18 places, is David Goggin – honourable mentions go to Darren McC (+12), Jazz S (+18), Scott H (+12), Dan H (+12) and Jack B (+13)

Out Of My Head:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 26 places, is Lisa Ward – dishonourable mentions go to Pete B (-17), Matthew S (-17), Rich L (-15) and Sam A (-15)

PAS Cup 2022:

Semi Finals ties went ahead this week…

It. Was. Really. Dramatic!

We had 1 successful joker! And, 1 heartbreaker!

Simon Buxton dispatched Andy Kelly 27 (5) to 21 (2) to take his place in the Final.

But the only non-successful “joker” of four meant Jack Buxton earnt a replay against Charlie Harris in a 31 (5) all draw!

It went to extra time (17 games over last weekend) and, amazingly, we finally got a winner. But only just…

Jack Buxton emerged the winner by 16(3) – 15 (3) in a nail-biter to set up a family affair in the Final

Now that was a Cup tie!

Commiserations to the losers – the £30 should see you right though eh?!)

And Another Thing:

I really hate Boro…

And This:

Thank you very much for taking part in another fab season – we couldn’t do it without you!

Please come back soon.

September, actually.

Make a note as you’ll be getting a constant stream of reminders from, erm, August onwards…

Special thanks to Dan & Dave once again for all their tireless work behind the scenes – they’ve made us amazing!

Well, bar my ubiquitous glitches obv…

Prize Money Update  – League, Cup & CL prize money will be paid out at the end of the season.

So don’t worry, The Libertarians haven’t got your winnings – I have!

That’s it for this season! Well, nearly….full season update (including the PAS Cup & CL Finals) to follow…

When the season ends!

Mwwahhhhahaha…

Cheers,
Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 12 round up

 “Stool…”

You Were Right“:

Bit of a classic this week!

Twenty one bods racked up 30 points or more, prompting a proper scrap for the £20 weekly prize…

Paul H put in a good shout with his 95th minute 9 pointer at Sheff Utd and Pete B sprang into life only to see a weekly win disappear as the clock ticked to 93 minutes at Anfield – oooof!

Andy K continued his sparkling form adding another 7 correct scores to his collection.

Only two breached the 40 point mark with Neil O going very close to an unprecedented hat-trick of weekly wins (Dave! Dan! Has that been done before?!) with TWO last minute goals denying him at the death.

That left the classical Ben Hogwood 43 (7) up front & centre like a Proms conductor in full pomp – he too benefitted from Bentford’s last gasp winner, Arsenal taking their foot off the gas and the gall of Rotherham beating play off chasing Boro!

Congrats sir, drop the prim formalities and whistle, stamp & commence the bobbing up and down – you’re a winner!

Silent Sigh:

From a classic to a near-mythical week as only THREE players failed to score more than fifteen points!

And, only 3 didn’t register a correct score (spare a thought for Andy B on his lonely 18 points though…)

Julian F was denied the obligatory family shaming as our man Down Under, Paul Carter 13 (0), went under…

Correct Score of the Week:

Jolly good show…most popular score was WBA’s 2-1 win over Norwich  – 28 of youse got that!

Twenty two believed in Arsenal. A 3-1 kinda belief…

8 were well away with the 0-3 away win for Wednesday

Five were grateful for the 3-1 Toon win over the Saints

4 thrilled at the thrilling Morecambe 3 Lincoln City 2

Neil T, Nick H & Greg F got Leicester’s “Desmond” with Everton

Jamie S, Greg F (again!) & Suman K lapped up the injury time joy of Hartlepool 3 Barrow 1

Bijay L & Matthew M were all over the Scottish Cup Semi Final 0-3 to Super Cally

Eddie O & Jasper M felt “Fergie vibes” when Sunderland’s Patrick Roberts 95th minute goal secured a 5 pointer 2-2 v Watford

Paul H & Lisa W put us all to shame by predicting Sheffield Utd 4 PNE 1

Ben H nabbed the form book upsetting Rotherham 1 Middlesbro 0

Lily T doffed a cap to Celtic’s 1-0 semi-final win over Rangers

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Nick Hogwood for his lower-league-match-talk inspired, Carlisle Utd 2 Salford City 3!

Bet of the Week:

Jason Morris was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 11 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He produced!

“Treble mate…Brentford, Brighton, Liverpool –  all BTTS (both teams to score) and win”

Brentford – last gasp!

Liverpool – LOL!

Brighton – six goals but none for Wolves!

So, £7.55 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th leaving it on £10.55 – bravo!

Ryan Graves is at 33rd this week….

Mi amigo viejo, I need your 3 team treble by Saturday morning, please!

Decent amount to build on here sunshine!

Table News:

Another Pearl:

Dan Wayman is top with a week left & has a lead of 23 points over Paul H who, in turn, is eight points ahead of Simon Linds in third…he’s done it, hasn’t he?!

Two crashed the Top Ten!

Once Around The Block:

Patricia Fernandez is bottom, but fighting back, nine points behind Howard T who, in turn, is 6 points off Lily T

The Shining:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 35 places is Ben Hogwood – honourable mentions go to Kate S (+20), Pawan GC (+16), Pete B (+25), Max M (+16), Matthew M (+17), Neil T (+19), and Nick H (+19).

Everybody’s Stalking:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 17 places is George Triantafillou – dishonourable mentions go to Matthew S (-16), Suman K (-15), and Julian F (-16)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 11 round up

“it’s nearly May and the weather…jeeeez!”

King For A Day“:

Greetings from a train travelling to Oporto from Lisboa! (yes, the wifi works Avanti!).

As we close in on another season, the madness arrives once again…

But for all the “chancey” predictions, only 5 players scored more than thirty points this week.

Andy F put in a sterling effort with 19 point-scoring predictions, George T is possibly rueing not predicting on the Friday night festival of football the Emirates and my mum, well, she scored over twenty points…and how!

Jazz S recalled the halcyon days with a couple of five-pointers that took him close to the £20 weekly prize.

So, who was at the top?

Well, we have another double weekly winner amidst us!

Neil Osborne 40 (8) has a brace of injury-time goals to thank this time round – Bristol City’s 91st minute winner & the 94th minute own goal equaliser for PNE to be precise.

Well done Señor O, can you predict an away win at the Etihad tonight?!

If You Were Here:

Meanwhile, the madness at the other end of the scale, was off the scale!

Twenty nine of you failed to score more than 15 points and seven of those didn’t have a single correct score between them – ooof!

Greg F, Dom W & Suman K didn’t get out of single figures.

But their shame was spared by Dan Clarke 7 (0) who tipped us all off on What’s App –  which is kind of a jeopardy spoiler?

Correct Score of the Week:

Amazing stuff players…most popular score was Fulham’s 2-1 win over Leeds  – 31 of youse got that!

Seventeen got Man City’s 3 goal semi-final demolition of Sheffield Utd

5 decided to deploy catenaccio to reap the rewards at Palace. And they did…

Patricia F & Debbie L made us all green by happening upon Burnley 1-2 QPR. Wait, what???!

Mark S & Sam A just knew Ipswich would keep a clean sheet for a 0-3 at The Posh

Pete C obviously guessed Crawley would beat Hartlepool 0-2

Gareth M saw his typo come good on the game at Birmingham

Deepak B said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for his Charlton 2 Morecambe 3

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season, goes to Patricia Fernandez for her out-of-chaos-eventually-comes-order inspired, Liverpool 3 Nottingham Forest 2!

Bet of the Week:

Rich Lee was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 10 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He must have moved to Germany cos we didn’t hear from him…

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th leaving it on £5.27 – just about get you a pint then…

Jason Morris is at 45th this week….

Jay, I need your 3 team treble by Friday morning, please!

Make The Syndicate proud!

Table News:

Love On Your Side:

Dan Wayman is looking good to retain his title, 25 points ahead of Charlie H who, in turn, is two points ahead of Peter M in third…

Three crashed the Top Ten!

Hold Me Now:

Patricia Fernandez stays bottom, but now only nine points behind Lily T who, in turn, is 1 point off John J

You Take Me Up:

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 10 round up

 “Yes, i know, i know…”

Forget Me Nots“:

In a week that saw only 19 punters score thirty points or more, an edgy “tactic” came to the fore…

Rob C decided that only predicting for 11 games might be the way forward – and only missed the £20 weekly prize by six points!

Olly O & Charlie H took the traditional route and came up short by 5 and 4 points respectively.

Matthew M had a stormer, including Celtic’s very unlikely (at half time) 9-pointer and was scuppered only by his belief in Forest to beat Man Yoo – ohhhhh, Maffew!

So that left Will Oppong 41 (6) to scoop it up and strut proudly down Croydon High Street smug in the knowledge that putting in just 33% of effort (yes, that’s 10 predictions) can sometimes pay off…

If only Arsenal had done the same on Sunday eh, Willo?

Anything Can Happen:

Down in the depths, it was a real case of “whoah! it’s me” as only seven players didn’t score more than 15 points this week.

3 didn’t manage a correct score between them.

And of those, Tom Morley & Ben Hogwood 12 (0) were the barrel scrapers…

Maybe a 33% alcoholic beverage will make you feel a bit better chaps!

Correct Score of the Week:

My word…most popular score was Brighton’s 1-2 win at Chelsea  – 27 of us got that!

Eleven quite rightly predicted Celtic’s 1-4 thrashing of Kilmarnock

Neil T & John K landed on the two-two in East London on Sunday. <stifles sob>

Darren McC & Norman L were well away with the 0-3 away win for Coventry at QPR

Debbie L & Predictz were grateful for the 3-1 City win over Leicester City

Deepak B celebrated like Walsall at Highbury in ’83 after that 1-3 to Fulham at Everton

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Max Morgan for his even-watching-Sp*rs-isn’t-this-bleak inspired, Blackburn 0 Hull 0!

Bet of the Week:

Matthew Murphy was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 9 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He replied, and we have a winner (kinda)!

“Games with over 2.5 goals…”

Spurs v Bournemouth – oh yes!

QPR v Coventry – uh huh!

Grimsby v Mansfield – nah!

So, £2.27 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd taking it to £13.32 – very acceptable, me thinks…

Rich Lee is at 60th this week….

Ricardo, I need your 3 team treble by Friday morning, please!

Need a good slice on here mate!

Table News:

Number One:

Dan Wayman is still top, extending the lead to 26 points ahead of Charlie H who, in turn, is three points ahead of Peter M in third…

Two crashed the Top Ten!

Watch Out!:

Patricia Fernandez remains bottom, eighteen points behind Howard T who, in turn, is 10 points off Lily T

I Was Tired Of Being Alone:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 27 places is Will Oppong – honourable mentions go to Matthew M (+21), Olly O (+23), and Rob C (+23).

Haven’t You Heard:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 29 places were Tom Morley & Ben Hogwood – a dishonourable mention goes to Bijay L (-20)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 9 round up

 “Build a rocket boys!”

Weather To Fly:

This week in 2015...

“Imagine one of your best mates got sacked from a Championship side at the behest of some chicken frying clowns – you’d be gutted, right?

Imagine if, in the same week, you managed to record the WORST score EVER in PAS history!

Double gutted?

Triple gutted??!

Embarrassed even?

That’s exactly what happened to our favourite Polski PAS son, Rowan Marriott 4 (0) this week – imagine??!

Surely, a punt on the Lottery can do no harm now can it Row…”

This week

“Imagine one of your best mates is sitting atop the Scottish Championship with a city famous for its comic clowns (we won’t mention their up-to-1983 policy on Catholics..) – you’d be made up, right?

Imagine if, in the same week, you managed to record your SECOND weekly win in the same season in your PAS history EVER!

Double made up?

Triple joy??!

Boastful even?

That’s exactly what happened to our favourite Polski PAS son, Rowan Marriott 41 (6) this week – imagine??!

Surely, you feel like you’ve won the Lottery Row…”

Another £20 coming your way then fella!

Oh. And…

12 people scored thirty points or more this week – Charlie H & Darren McC went close and, were it not for a 93rd minute goal for Plymouth, a resurgent Paul H would have taken the spoils…oooof!

The Loneliness Of A Tower Crane Driver:

A proper barren Week 9 for most, with lots only notching 1 correct score in a “twenty odd points” kinda week.

Nineteen only managed no more than 15 points or less.

5 with no correct scores.

Two got a single digit tally.

Bottom of the pile then, were Lily Templeton & Suman Kaflee 9 (0) – if you’re still here in eight years time mind…

Correct Score of the Week:

Pah!…most popular score was Toon’s 1-2 win at Brentford  – 22 of youse got that!

Eighteen(!) thrilled at the thrilling Celtic 3 Rangers 2

12 got the very annoying last minute spoiling Morecambe 1 Plymouth 3

Twelve somehow stumbled on Southampton 1 Man City 4 (how????)

8 snaffled up the 5 points served up by Liverpool & Arsenal

Reagon K was all over the 0-2 to St Mirren at Hearts

John J got the 1-2 Robins win over Stoke

Paul C was well away with the 0-2 away win for Norwich at Blackburn

Will O just knew Blackpool would score against Cardiff for a 1-3

Jason M got the dull-all at The New Den

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season, goes to Charlie Harris for his I-love-Colin-and-his-pints-of-raw-eggs inspired, Watford 2 Huddersfield 3!

Bet of the Week:

Dilip Adhikari was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 8 so we asked him (again) to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

It was a no show – again!

Obviously, something lost in translation or people really don’t read this far down…imagine?!

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd taking it to £8.03 – noice!

Matthew Murphy is at 83rd this week….

Mathaus, I need your 3 team treble by Friday morning, please!

Don’t let me down, son!

Table News:

Leaders Of The Free World:

Dan Wayman stays top, now a big big 22 points ahead of Paul H who, in turn, is two points ahead of Neil M in third…he’s on for a title defence, y’know!

Three crashed the Top Ten!

Forget Myself:

Patricia Fernandez stays in last place, a big big sixteen points behind Howard T who, in turn, is 7 points off Lily T…she’s on for a wooden spoon defence, y’know!

Starlings:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 36 places is Darren McCarthy – honourable mentions go to Rowan M (+19), Charlie H (+18), Kate S (+19), Andy C (+21), and Jason M (+15).

Grounds For Divorce:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 23 places is Suman Kaflee – dishonourable mentions go to Dan C (-16), Dilip A (-19), Danny A (-16), Matt W (-20), Mark S (-17), and Norman L (-17)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 8 round up

“Yes, away fan. You’re sitting all the way up there, man!”

Dreams Of Children:

A poor performing week with a ridiculous scrap at the top – so I’ll cut to the chase!

Only six people scored 30 points or more…

Greg F & Max M put in a fair shift but came up short (Greg will be fuming at that 91st minute goal at Kenilworth Road!).

Mike K walloped in the Brighton score only to be scuppered by Barnsley’s 5th in the 93rd minute.

Andy K lashed in the Man City score only to be undone by the 94th minute winner at Hartlepool.

Tom M was robbed by that Campbell goal at Luton…

So that left Neil Osborne 34 (5), rueing a 94th winner at Palace AND a 99th minute winner at Cardiff, but jumping for joy a la Jeff Stelling as that 94th minute Oliver Finney winner secured the £20 weekly prize!

After all that Neil, I bet you were as breathless as Roger at Wembley in ’78!

Funeral Pyre:

It really was a bonfire for the 35(!) of us who couldn’t score more than fifteen points this week.

Thirteen didn’t notch a correct score.

4 didn’t get a double figure tally!

Propping us all up this week was Simon Lindsay 8 (0) – mate, really hasn’t been a week to be Spurs has it?

Correct Score of the Week:

Just, no…most popular score was Forest’s 1-1 draw with Wolves – 18 of youse got that!

Nine obviously guessed Arsenal would beat Leeds 4-1

Danny B, Neil O & Matthew M had their secret prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at The Hawthorns

Danny B (again!), David G & Tom M turned up Hull 0 Rotherham 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there.

Paul C, Lee T & Andy B just knew Blackpool would score against Preston for a 3-1

Chris D, Mike K & Dan C bribed Dan & Dave to tinker with the PAS timelapse cog in the back end and waltzed off with Brighton 3 Brentford 3

Andy K & Justin C somehow stumbled on Man City 4 Liverpool 1 (how????)

Tim P nabbed the form book upsetting Kilmarnock 2 Hearts 1

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Sam Arora for his Emery-is-no-Dick inspired, Chelsea 0 Aston Villa 2!

Bet of the Week:

Dilip Adhikari was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 7 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

It was a no show – not a bratwurst!

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – up & running!

Dilip Adhikari is at 33rd this week….wait! what?!

Herr A, I need your 3 team treble by Friday morning, please!

Surely you’ve read this far this week?!

Table News:

Precious:

Dan Wayman is still top, 13 points ahead of Paul C who, in turn, is eight points ahead of Paul F in third…

Three crashed the Top Ten!

Down In A Tube Station At Midnight:

Patricia Fernandez is still in last place, nine points behind Howard T who, in turn, is 13 points off Paul V

Pretty Green:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 32 places is Tom Morley – honourable mentions go to Andy K (+22), Chris D (+24), Mike K (+26), Max M (+25), Neil O (+24), and Greg F (+22).

The Bitterest Pill (I Ever Had To Swallow):

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 7 round up

 “International Week, bloody hell!”

Das Model:

Even the “anti-International” Week purists had to admit this one was more in keeping with a regular week – saying that, if you didn’t rack up the bonus points this week, you were in as much trouble as you would in a normal “goal-fest” International Week.

Yeah, I know…

A whopping 42 PASers filled their boots with 30 points or more this week!

Nine of those cracked the hallowed forty point mark, and one reached a season-high fifty points – toll!

Tom W-S will be cursing Leao’s 88th minute 6th goal for Portugal as it denied him 10 big prize winning points and Reagon K will be similarly flailing and wailing at Sweden’s Elanga for his 89th minute goal v Azerbaijan on Monday – it could’ve been you too!

In keeping with the international feels though, it was a German debutant that stole the show this week – Deepak Bogati 50(8) will be dusting down the lederhosen, getting the steins in & inviting the “gegenpress” from his entourage as 8 correct scores (5 of them worth more than 4 points!) secured his maiden £20 weekly prize.

Gut gemacht mein sohn!

Radioaktivität:

Ever get the feeling that your “nearly 30 points” is “more like 18 points”?

Three ill-prepared punters didn’t manage more than fifteen points this week and 8 didn’t even get a correct score…spare a thought for Gareth M who went all Sp*rsy with 21 (0) – eeek!

And in keeping with the international feels, it was a Swede (not a turnip) that propped up the rest this week – Anders Hoglund 13 (0), you need to be more Zlatan mate!

Correct Score of the Week:

Like having your nose pressed against a fancy restaurant’s window…most popular score was Romania’s 0-2 win in Andorra – 25 of youse got that!

Twenty one were all over the 0-3 to Greece on”The Rock”

Another 21 doffed a cap to Espana’s 3-0 deconstruction of a Haaland-less Norway

Nineteen made us all green by happening upon Scotland 3-0 Cyprus

13 had Hungary’s 3-0 win over Bulgaria

Twelve will shout out loud about the humbling of Liechtenstein by Portugal

8 are grateful for the 3-1 Denmark win over Finland

Six saw their typos come good on the game between Netherlands & Gibraltar

6 more put us all to shame by predicting Luxembourg 0 Portugal 6

Five got the dull-all at Field Mill

Neil M, Rich L & Frankie F had Sweden’s merciless deconstruction of Azerbaijan

Rowan M & John K revelled in the schadenfreude of Wales’ late late show in Croatia

Howard T & Tim P got the 1-3 Dirty Ol’ Town win over Stevenage

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Suman Kaflee for his the-German-newbies-are-here-and-we’re-coming-for-you inspired, Sweden 0 Belgium 3!

Bet of the Week:

Tom Morley was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 6 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

He said..

“Wednesday to beat Forest Green
France to beat Netherlands
Exeter to beat Accrington
Will that work?”

And guess what?!

It worked (kinda).

The dodgy curry got the Dutch & Exeter mashed up Accrington –  but Big Dunc finally got his vegan credentials up and running at Forest Green to deny us another full house…

So, £2.27 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th – cool(ish)!

Dilip Adhikari is at 45th this week….

Herr A, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

You gonna go all Bundesliga on us?!

No sauerkraut please mate…

Table News:

Die Mensch Maschine:

Dan Wayman remains top, now 18(!) points ahead of Paul C who, in turn, is three points ahead of newbie Jasper M in third…

Three crashed the Top Ten!

Kling Klang:

Patricia Fernandez remains in last place, now sixteen(!) points behind Howard T who, in turn, is 3 points off Paul V

Die Roboters:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 35 places is Reagon Karki – honourable mentions go to Jamie S (+20), Pawan GC (+20), Francesca F (+28), Bijay L (+25), Andy C (+26), Tom W-S (+32), Ric P (+26), and Deepak B (+31).

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 6 round up

 “How dare you dis Paddy!”

Lucky Star:

Either you lot are getting better (notice I said “you lot” and not “we”) at this or the bar has been lowered when it comes to winning the weekly £20!

Either way, it’s going to some time for me to get anywhere near being a contender (woe is me…)

So,

yet another hotly contested week saw 11 PASers notch up thirty points or more – and nearly all of them in with a shout right up to Sunday afternoon…

Dave C will be cursing his favourite villain as that Man Yoo 96th minute pen did for his claims to the prize & Danny B must have thought he was in when that “worldy” won it for Sheff U.

Peter M was sitting pretty, when up popped Matthew S courtesy of 3 red cards helping to put him in line for a second share of the spoils in a row…

Then,

from the other side of the earth, Paul Carter 36 (4) produced a Super Sunday to top all Super Sundays – accumulating 24 points from 5 games, including three quite remarkable correct scores from the last 3 games (yep, that’s a 4-1, a 5-0 and a 3-1 and two with +90th minute goals!).

You ripper!

Think Of Me:

When Mr 2-0 gets the sod all points tally he should be getting and you get less, you know it’s a bad bad week…

Sixteen punters got 15 points or less this week, with 6 of those unable to register a correct score.

Only one didn’t break into double figures this week…

And that one was you, Stephen Harrison 9 (0)!

Correct Score of the Week:

Wow…most popular score was Reading’s 1-1 draw with Hull – 27 of youse got that!

Twenty three felt Fergie vibes when that Bruno Fernandes 96th minute penalty secured a 5 pointer 3-1 v Fulham

21 got the very annoying last minute spoiling Celtic 3 Hibs 1

Six thrilled at the thrilling Arsenal 4 Paliss 1

5 lapped up the injury time joy of Sheff Utd 3 Blackburn 2

Dave C, Paul C & Jack B got the 5 goal demolition of Grimsby by Brighton

Anders H & Julian F nailed Chelsea 2 Everton 2

Matthew S & Deepak B got Villa 3 Bournemouth 0

Matt W & Andy B quite rightly predicted Boro’s 4-0 thrashing of PNE

Matthew S (again!) got Bradford’s “Desmond” with Hartlepool

David G celebrated the bore draw between Stoke & Norwich

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Orla McKeown for her I-do-like-to-be-beside-the-seaside inspired, Blackpool 1 Coventry City 4!

Bet of the Week:

Anders Hoglund was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 5 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

My word, we were close to a record haul!

At one o’clock on Sunday we were looking at £65 for 83rd slot, but then Bristol City did what Bristol City do, and caved in again when in south Wales…

However, the self-proclaimed “draw liker” came up with two very unlikely draws!

Southampton v Spurs – 93rd min pen, tack!

Chelsea v Everton – 89th minute maiden goal, tack!

So, £11.05 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd – skol!

Tom Morley is at 60th this week….

Tommy, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

You have the International Week at your mercy or will you go all Football League?

Another winner please!

PAS Champions League 2023-24:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2023-24 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is, the slightly less anxious Toffee…Andy Fowler!

And Another Thing:

International Week next week…

Twitter is dead & so is Instagram – but we’ve got a What’s App group!

Wanna join?

Why?

Well, I send round reminders that you don’t have to check your email for.

Erm…some people are quite funny (some are annoying) & hopefully, we’ll get some good pics of away fans at games.

We will crush any “hilarious GIFs” though…

Plus, you can gloat when you land that 9 pointer in the 91st minute!

Email me over your number and i’ll add ya ([email protected])

Cheers,
