L13 Winter 2007 : Week 11 – BotW

Anthony Yearwood is tasked with reducing the deficit this week…

Well, seeing as I have to bail you guys out, my BOTW… the “real” 2nd city quadruple… wins for Manchester City, Manchester United, Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers. Now, gimme my f*cking winnings!

As you can see he’s a charmer, that little four-timer will get you odds of around 3.5/1 so if it comes in it’ll make a dent into the £35 we’re down…

Week 11 results may be late as I’m off to Seveeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaa with Mr Crisp to watch our foreign lads show them foreigners what being an English team is all about – yeah!

Have a good ’un!
Pab

Result: LOSE! -£40

L13 Winter 2007 : Week 10 Table Roundup

It’s looks like a formality but anything can happen (it won’t) in the beautiful game – Jazz Sian is now 20pts clear of Danny A in 2nd with 3 weeks to go.
Second Choice Steve :
It’s looks like a formality but anything can happen (it won’t) in the beautiful game – Neil Birchall is now 11pts away from Ben A in 65th with 3 weeks to go.
Fabio :
Highest climber this week is Scott Aslett up a I-never-move-anywhere-further-than-2-places-usually-oh-know-i’ve-got-a-nosebleed-now jump of 16 places to 44th – fellow climbers are Anthony Y (+13), Janine R (+8), Dave C (+11), John W (+10) and Jon T (+10)
Sam :
Falling furthest this week is Andy Chesworth (again) down a whats-happened-to-my-football-knowledge?-is-it-cos-I’m concentrating-on-my-wedding-next-year-and-getting-distracted (oops, did I just say that out loud? again? it’s gonna happen you know! why do you think he’s saving like Scrooge at the moment??) drop of 10 places to 61st – fellow fallers are Tim B (-9), Stephen P (-8), Ben H (-9) and Olly O (-8)
Marmite :
Love it or hate it, finishing here on Week 13 will bring a you a big jar of Guinness Marmite – the Mark Grey his lawyer shaped knife at the ready and toast in the toaster…

Cup 2007 :

L13 Winter 2007 : Week 10 Roundup

Chicken Stevens :
He was run to the wire but Anthony Yearwood 45 (6) saw off the challenge of Scott A, Jon T, Janine R and Dave C to win this weeks £20. What can I say? First time for aaaaaages that Sp*rs fan has celebrated winning something – spend your sheckels wisely m’boy!
Shaky :
All whole cluster of people limped in 16 (0/1) – you know who you are, you should be ashamed.
Correct Score of the Week:
15 (eek!) got Czech – Slovakia (can you see what I did there?), 19 (eeeekerer!) got Das Germans systematic 4-0 break-up of a small weaker nation, 6 (amazingly!) got Norn Iron’s thoroughly thrilling 2-1 win v Danmark and Martin S & Jon T got Greece 5 Malta 0. This week’s accolade though goes to ever absurd Scott Aslett for his Latvia 4 Liechtenstein 1 (more for the fact that the Liechs actually scored than anything else…)
Bet of the Week :
as dire as Frank & Stevie running around aimlessly on a pitch that Hackney Marshes would have been ashamed of – yep, we lost again and now down to the tune of 35 sheets – Anthony Y, your fellow PASers need you!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2007 : Week 10 Update

Anthony Yearwood leads the pack on 36 points Serbia v Kazakhstan was called off due to heavy snowfall so doesn’t count (obviously!). 9 games to go on Wednesday Surely even McLaren can’t mess it up now….

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2007 : Week 10 – BotW

We’re £30 down but I’m excited by this one – we’re due a winner! Week 9 winner, Tim Birtwisle writes…

Bet of the week – 3 draws Scotland Italy, Israel Russia & Spain Sweden. You can always bump it up a little bit by betting on the usual losers to get beat – teams like Luxembourg, San Marino, The Faroes, England…

Odds are around 45/1 for the draw treble and if you add the “surely-nailed-on-losers” playing Latvia / Portugal / Holland / Serbia / Germany / Finland it’ll go up to around 105/1 – get on!

Result: LOSE! -£35

L13 Winter 2007 : Week 9 Roundup

iPhone :
Bet you thought you had a good week eh? Got around late 20’s early 30’s? Yeah me and the other 40 people I’m afraid – for once all the scores went with the form (bar the Championship cos it’s mental) so it was just a question of nailing the correct scores. Well one person who did was Tim Birtwisle 43 (6) who ran out a comfortable winner in the end thanks to Arsenal sloppiness at the end of last nights game. Old skool former Champion Tim might spend his winnings going back home to Sporston Green…
Two yoghurt pots & piece of string :
We all know people who love to talk don’t we – well I can’t wait for Dave Crisp 12 (0) to talk me through his one when we’re at the next Arsenal game…
Correct Score of the Week:
14 people simultaneously jumped up from their sofa when Shorey slotted home, 4 people got Plymouth while I waited in vain for Norwich to score, Julian F got the “most obvious 0-0 EVER!” at Bolton along with Matt H & Ben H, myself and Janine R reluctantly got Sp*rs 4-0, Howard T & Mark J B impressed even themselves with Everton’s draw at the Bridge, Howie T nailed Motherwell as well, Ben McK got Hull 3-0 and Stephen P got Charlton 3-0. Best score of the week (and some Jambos would argue, best of the season! But not me cos I’m Hibee!) goes to Paul Jenner for his Hearts 4 Aberdeen 1
Bet of the Week :
the most obvious 0-0 EVER! scuppered our bet so we’re now £30 down but have international specialist, Tim B to set us right (bet he puts England to win 2-0…)

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2007 : Week 9 – BotW

Not heard from Ben H (he said he was spending his winnings on fish, chips and mushy peas so he’s probably in hospital with an over eating disorder…) but Mark J B has come up with a “as safe as Everton winning in Europe” four timer…

Spurs, Arsenal, Bolton & Man Utd – a fiver on that will get back around £30, which is what we need to get back on an even keel…

Results might be late next week as I’m in London until Tuesday and as you know the computer type laptop type things have forgotten what Word & Excel are…

Result: LOSE! -£30

L13 Winter 2007 : Week 8 Table Roundup

I’m Brilliant :
The machine, Jazz Sian, stretches his lead to a healthy 14 points from Neil T who in turn, is a further 5 points in front of Matt D.
I’m A Spaz :
Despite doing well this week (cos Mr 2-0 did his scores) Neil Birchall is still bottom. If Neil had a sat nav and he punched in Jon T as his destination, he would be very near to hearing “you have arrived”… Well, 7 points away.
Brilliantesque :
Highest climber this week is Ben Hogwood up a just-short-of-the-cup-qualification leap of 14 places to 33rd – fellow climbers are Joanne G (+6), Ciaran McG (+11), Jon A (+10), Steve B (+7) and Karl C (+6)
Spazzy :
Falling furthest this week is Andy Chesworth down a whats-happened-to-my-football-knowledge?-is-it-cos-I’m concentrating-on-my-wedding-next-year-and-getting-distracted (oops, did I just say that out loud?) drop of 14 places to 52nd – fellow fallers are Gareth M (-9), Stephen P (-11), Pam D (-12) and Scott A (-8)
Marmite :
Love it or hate it, finishing here on Week 13 will bring a you a big jar of Guinness Marmite – the Mark Seels consortium have their knives at the ready and toast in the toaster…
Spotters :
Current residents are 14th – me! (+2), 17th – Tim B (+4), 23rd – Neil M (-4), 33rd – Ben H (+14), 39th – Mr. 2-0 (+4), 46th – Matt H (+2), 58th – Anne C (-1) and 64th – Ben A (non mover – again!)
Cup 2007 :
At the end of Week 13 you need to be where Simon L is (+1) to qualify for the Lucky 13 Spring 2007 & the Big PAS Cup!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2007 : Week 8 Roundup

Konichiwa Bitches :
In a fairly lo-scoring week it went to the wire with around a dozen in with a shout before Monday’s games – Tony B was just nudged aside by Mark J Brown & Ben Hogwood 33 (6). Bluenose Brown was cursing his own James Vaughn’s 101st minute goal as it robbed him of 3 points and an outright win. £10 each then that Browny has probably spent on 9 cheesy nudgers from Greggs and Ben, umm, I dunno, what would Ben spend £10 on?
See You Next Tuesday You Is A Punk :
Serial “crazy” score predictor Scott Aslett 10 (0) is steadily heading the way of Palace…
Correct Score of the Week:
12 disciples got the Emirates epic, 7 clock watchers got Everton, Tony B / Olly O / Anthony Y got East Anglian inbred derby and hats off to Mark Grey who managed to gauge in ineptitude of the Brazilian Bramble to come up with Newcastle 1 Portsmouth 4. Best correct score of the season so far without doubt.
Bet of the Week :
He ruffled a few feathers with his “scouse” treble and just like Liverpool’s 17 claims to a league title he failed. We go into Week 9 in the capable hands of Mark J B/Ben H to turn round the £25 deficit. Come on!

Cheers,
Pab

Fings We Noticed :
Nice to see Sir Alec’s hearing isn’t as bad as his eyesight – Arsenal getting accused of an atmosphere! Who’d have thought it! And while we’re here, let’s hope when all the “bloody foreigners” get turfed back to where they came from, it’s extended to having English-only managers too. I’m sure he’d love it back in Aberdeen… Waitrose in Cheadle is the coldest supermarket EVER! Juande Ramos is Jack Lord (ask yer dad about the Five-O kids!) Stephen Ireland is mentally ill.

L13 Winter 2007 : Week 8 – BotW

£20 down for the season so far so up steps Week 7 (see Danny, I got it right this time!) winner Rich Lee, who’s gone off-piste…

Hi Pab, Re bet of the week thingy, I’ll go for a Merseyside treble: Liverpool win at Blackburn, Tranmere win at Forest, and a Man U loss at Arsenal. Haven’t got a clue what odds this gives

In that case I’ll tell you Richie – it’s around 23/1

Bon chance, vive les Goonres!
