Best Score (with a joker):
Jamie Sellers 36 (4)
Worst Score:
Dave McSherry/Dan Rayner 14 (1)
Highest Loser:
Andy Chesworth 22 (3)
Lowest Winner:
Karl Chartres 21 (2)
Best Correct Score:
Steve Tagger / Jamie Sellers (Chelsea 4 Norwich 0) – honourable mention to: Matt W (Leicester 3 Coventry 0)
Would You Adam n Believe It?!:
We had a another draw! Dave McSherry and Dan Rayner decided to mirror Reading et al and put out the reserves (Mr 2-0) and ended in stalemate as Dave McS didn’t play his joker – replay, with the advantage to Dan R, next week. Croydon holds it’s breath…

Steve T and Jamie S have a late Shevchenko goal to thank for maximising their joker to 16 points.

Pam R keeps the flag flying for the laydees by knocking out Andy C in the Guardianista derby – and she could afford to score nil points with her Man Yoo joker…

Ben A is probably wishing he placed his joker on one of the Old Firm instead of Oldham as he crashed out to the lowest scoring winner, Karl C.

Draw for the Quarter Finals will take place directly after the FA Cup draw at 1:30pm on BBC2.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 3 – BotW

Currently £10 down – next up is Stephen P…

I am lobbing the whole lot (£5) on a 7 bet Accumulator. Home matches to win are – Smoggies, Chel$ki, Cardiff, Mackems, Oldham, Man Yoo & Rangers. Potential return would be £68.75 with price obtained from www.bluesq.co.uk. Get on it!

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£15.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 2

Mumm-Ra:
Another hefty week of big scores (maximum points available was 140) as the leading pack set a searing pace to the new season. Top score this week goes to Stephen Peaston 47(6) who must’ve had a great weekend considering he was at St James’s Park witnessing some scousers getting robbed (for a change!) – howay! Well done Stevie, £20 coming your way, I’d imagine you’ll be treating the missus to slap up stotties or something on Wednesday now…
Dadrock:
With a score to match her height, Donna “Brumchick” Edmead 13(0) slips to the bottom of the pile, and in a way, mirroring the Villa – you’re bad! (as in bad).
Correct Score of the Week:
Everyone got Chelsea, Aberdeen and Rangers (just to really bore me) Julian F/Olly O/Neil M got Hartlepool 3 Walsall 1 but no one got a really good unique score this week. Ho hum.
Bet Of The Week:
Ben A gave us a patriotic treble and probably wishes he’d waited until Steve Mac had announced his “team” as it was the football leg that let us down. If you were a seasoned gambler (i.e. you lose 90% of the time) however, you would have been wise to place it as three doubles, and that way get your money back! ;-) We’re now £10 down and looking to Stephen P to turn it round…
News:
Get your outstanding payments in please – some of you have been in touch and made arrangements, but I’ve still to hear from a few of you…

Table updates in full will start next week.

Week 3/Cup 2nd round scoresheet will be mailed round on Thursday after all the replays have been settled.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 2 – BotW

This is what we like to see, commitment, enthusiasm and bare faced optimism!

Ben A has come straight back at ya with Week 2’s wager…

I was thinking of an England treble to win the Cricket [best of 3], Football [England Spain] and Rugby [England Italy]?

What you waitin for? You’ll get best odds of around 16/1 for that little lot – remember the football part kicks off Wednesday evening.

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£10.

Spring 2007 : Cup Replay & L13 Week 1 Roundup

Derby Co :
The best week to win as it’s all free and easy from now on in. Ben Alder 54(9) will be in full agreement especially as he has opened a healthy 11 point lead thanks to a superb correct score ratio (nearly 33%!!). Well done Ben, £20 (you owed btw) towards your first visit to Anfield, surely another fiver will get you there and back from Gloucestershireness…
Sp*rs :
He ain’t heavy (I got that gene) and now I’m not so sure he’s related either. Julian Fernandez 11(0) brings shame to the whole of London (and bit of Hampshire) with his utterly mad take on score predicting. Go on, say Pompey will make it to Europe!
Correct Score of the Week:
Not that many to get, but lots of you snaffled up Sheff Wed 1 PNE 3 and Hibs 3 Gretna 1 and Andy C got a creditable Wolves 2 Plymouth 2. This week’s best correct score (and probably for the season!) goes to Greg Edwards for his 9 pointer, Livingston 1 Celtic 4
Bet Of The Week:
It was entrusted to our current champion and in time honoured tradition he’s gets us off on the back foot with his disastrous “Yokshire” treble (sic). We are £5 down and looking to Mr Alder to halt the slide in Week 2.
PAS Cup 1st Round Replay:
Matt Gingell 27 (3) – Jazz Sian 37 (6). Jazz moves on in unerring fashion to play Matt W away in the 2nd round.
News:
Get your outstanding payments in please – some of you have been in touch and made arrangements, but I’ve still to hear from a few of you…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 1 – BotW

Bet of the Week comes courtesy of last season’s champion, Steve Tagger…

Yorkshire treble: Leeds, Bradford & Doncaster to win.

…bet you can’t guess where he’s from!

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£5.

Spring Cup 2007 – Round 2 Draw

Tie of the round pairs the 1st Round big hitters Steve T and Wayne C together justifying their prime time 5.15 live podcast slot….

Also, we have a Croydon derby in the form of Dave McS v Dan R and the buzz of the office here is on Pam R v Andy C who fight it out for Guardian bragging rights…

Stephen “unlucky loser” Peaston drew the home teams and the away teams have El Presidente to thank (for nothing).

  • Donna Edmead (8) v Gary Blackburne (34)
  • Mark J Brown (36) v Ciaran McGoldrick (11)

Would You Adam n Believe It?! We had a draw! Jazz S had his Chelsea joker to thank for salvaging a replay against Matt G in their 20(0) all tie. Replay next week (PAS Lucky 13 Spring 2007 Week 1) with Matt G to play a “Joker”.

Steve T, Ben A and Mark F all scored 16 points on their Spurs joker (I’ve seen that written somewhere else before..) thanks to Freddie Eastwood pegging one back for Southend.

Dave McS and Jamie S both notched up 14 points for their Chelsea joker thanks to Forest freezing at the Bridge.

Stephen P scored 0 points with his Rangers joker and Greg E decided not to play one at all…

The Cup holder, Simon L, was knocked out by one of only two girls left in the competition, Donna E – yours truly fell (as always) at the first hurdle to Mark F and Dave N lost to Pam R to leave PAS HQ on a downer going into a new season… it’s all about the League y’know!

Draw for Round Two will take place directly after the FA Cup draw at 1.30pm today on BBC 2.

L13 Winter 2006 : Week 13 – Final Standings

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star:
He’s been there for 9 weeks and fully deserves the title on his debut season – Steve Tagger 361 (43) walks away with the £150 1st prize 12 points clear of the field. Now he has the dilemma of spending his winnings on his brand new daughter or watching Dennis Wise’s team…
King Herod:
He joined us 2 weeks late, walked into an 11th place slot courtesy of Mr 2-0, and then proceeded to record a sequence of some of the worst scores ever seen at PAS Towers! A well deserved wooden spoon goes to Jon Allin 260 (25) who finished 7 points adrift of Will Oppong (who is now officially the worst “weekly winner” ever) in his debut season. We tried to get Ian Holloway to comment, but even he was lost for words…
Nine, ahem, Ladies Dancing:
(drum roll) Jazz Sian secured yet another £100 in 2nd place (check out his career earnings when the new webpage launches in January!) and will surely open betting accounts for his new baby twins, Matt Gingell picked up 3rd place (£75) and the “Best Correct Score of the Season” (£5) thanks to his mega-guess at Macc v Stanley, much to annoyance of myself who missed out on an extra tenner by finishing 4th (£65) (I know, I know, I’m great..) but at the same time pleased as I edged out my old mucker Dan Rayner into 5th (£55) by way of 4 more correct scores (unlucky Daniel son, not a bad debut fella!). Jamie Sellers kept the old skool flag flying by moving up 5 places to take 6th (£50).
Then it all got a bit close – Wayne Connolly beat “Top Girl” Donna Edmead by 1 point to finish 7th (£40) to her 8th (£35) (welcome back Donna, will this reflect the outcome of the Man Yoo – Villa Cup game in Jan?), Mark Fawke took time out from Internet-dating but could only manage 9th (£30) place, just ahead of John Greaves who just succeeded in getting his money back in 10th (£25) despite having a ’mare of a 13th week…
Close & A Cigar!:
A lesson for all you kids out there – Ciaran McGoldrick didn’t get his scores over this week and paid the ultimate price by dropping out of the prize positions. Scant consolation then in the form of a f*ck off Fidel-approved-Havana cigar. I shall present this mate when I meet you in the PAS executive box (sponsored by Oracle) at the Emirates for the Arsenal Wigan game. Hopefully you’ll be sparking up in celebration of a 1st leg win over AC Milan a couple of weeks later…
Christmas Bonus:
Spot prizers are – Matt Worsfold, who is happier than A Curbishly in 17th (£20), Neil Meredith, who submitted the worst score of the week but laughs loudest and longest in 23rd (£20), Julian Fernandez, the untalented Fernandez who ended up dropping to 39th (£15) and Howard Thomas, another back-in-day-before-PC’s-old-skooler who rolled back the years to anchor down in the very unspectacular 47th (£15) spot.
Cup 2007:
Week 13 is here and Mr 2-0 has performed above and beyond so the Cup qualification slot goes down to 33rd… Neil Birchall, you got in by the skin of yer teeth (1 point) – see you in Lucky 13 Spring 2007 & the Big PAS Cup!

Thanks to everyone who has taken part, parted with money and bothered to submit scores week in, week out, thanks to Dave Nicklin for the technical support and brains and thanks to all those weekly winners who got involved provided a weekly punt (and thanx more to those who gave us winners!).

Didn’t qualify? I’ll be in touch after the summer…

Cool kids, I’ll mail you soon!

All monies will be transferred/handed over asap.

Merry Christmas!

Cheers,
Pab.
