Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 3 – BotW

Steve T or Matt W haven’t come back with a Bet Of The Week, so we’ll go with Mr 2-0 who reckons the Arse will beat Bolton by said score @ odds of around 11/2

Have a good weekend!,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 6 – Review

Aaron Lennon :
One of the all time top scores recorded this week by a man who (I think) holds the actual record. My lovely Sp*rs friend, John Williamson 54 (8), collects £20 to maybe contribute to the “can we have our motto back” fund at Wh*te H*rt L*ne… Well done Johnny boy – top score!
Didier Drogba :
For the 2nd time this season Andy Bowkett 12 (0) is out pointed by everyone including a miserable Mr 2-0.
Correct Score of the Week:
Far too many got Celtic, Hibs and amazingly, Sp*rs. Steve P and Simon S got the Toon correct but this weeks honour goes to Will Oppong for his Burnley 0 Reading 3 prediction.
Bet of the Week :
Henry obliged, Nolan had one chalked off and Rooney was determined not to score last night… We failed again and are now £25 down. John W, we need your help!

Table News…

Chelsea:
Jazz Sian moves ominously up 1 place to top spot with a 3 point gap to boot
Sunderland:
Our resident Wiganer, Neil Birchall, must be feeling a bit like Pascal Gloves as he slips 1 place to bottom, 1 point behind Greg E
Newcastle:
Stephen P is the highest climber this week, up a whopping 18 places to 11th – other acheivers of note are John W in 6th (+8), Jamie S in 12th (+16), El Presisente in 15th (+9), Margaret A in 16th (+15) and Julian F in 20th (+10)
Wigan:
A joint effort in falling the furthest from Darryl M / Tapiwa m / Andy B all down 11 places to 26th / 28th / 29th respectively – other non acheivers are Michelle F in 17th (-9), Mr 2-0 in 23rd (-10), Pam D in 24th (-8) and Mindy N in 31st (-9) Intertoto Cup: Sitting on a cash prize spot are Stephen P (11th), Mr 2-0 (23rd) and Dan McGowan (30th)

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : Wanna be the first recipient of the PAS Trophy? It’s nice, sliver and not unlike a FA Cup moneybox – win this season’s title and it’s yours until the next champion comes along! Upon receipt you are obliged to send over a photo with the Cup so we can start building our Hall of Fame. Yours truly will be the first featured on said site soon – I won a medal for winning the Euro 92 title…

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 2 – Roundup

Hibees :
It’s never happened before and we had to dig out archive rules to make a decision on this too! Whoooooooo! Exciting! Two people didn’t send scores in for whatever reason, actually, while we’re here, does anyone know Steve Tindall? please get in touch! Anyway, as you may have noticed there were loads of 2-0’s this week, so many in fact, that Mr 2-0 35(7) won the week! The booty is shared with the lucky non-entrants however, so, Matt Worsfold & Steve Tindall will each receive £6.67 each and Mr 2-0’s cut (the devilish £6.66) will rollover Lotto stylee to next weeks weekly prize – all to play for then!
Pope O’Rangers:
A bit like getting thrashed at home in the Cup without actually having to run around for 90 minutes to get humiliated – Andy Bowkett is this weeks doughnut with a score of 10(0)
Correct Score of the Week:
Four got Hearts, three got Sp*rs (Neil m / Simon S / Pam D) and two (gutted) people got Man Utd 4 Fulham 2. So, John W and Richard L cancel each other out to leave Mark F with the best correct score so far….
Bet of the Week :
Now, the only reason I didn’t get on this was due to the muvver of all hangovers (a top night out with our current League Champion, the delightful Clare N and her beau, Neil T) and pure laziness (think of that Charlatans song…). Just as well, cos Dave N missed out on a bumper payday all because the perrenial coupon busters, Wolves, failed to win again – booooo! Going into Week 3 we’re £5 down – Matt W and Steve T you’re up next. I did ask Mr 2-0 but he just said “put 2-0 for everything…”

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 2 – BotW

Hola!

I'll be sending my scores round at about 5.30pm… snowed under here!

See below on how to present your “bet of the week&8221; – whether or not it comes in is your five pound dilemma – good luck!

Over to Dave N….

I've attached my predictions for this week, and here goes my attempt at bringing Ladbrokes to their knees:

  1. Kop out bet

If anyone doesn't trust my judgement (who'd blame 'em) then my suggestion is to stick 3 lucky dips on the Euro lottery tonight.

I'll expect a significant kickback if anyone wins the jackpot tho. :-)

Odds that follow are from ladbrokes.com….

  2. 6 Selection/Accumulator @ £5

OK, if you're still reading then you're probably Jon Tofeili and you'll bet on cockroach racing so you'll have no problem chucking a fiver on these dodgy results:

    Birmingham vs Arsenal
    Selection: Arsenal@10/11
    Manchester Utd vs Fulham
    Selection: Manchester Utd@1/4
    Leicester vs Wolves
    Selection: Wolves@5/4
    Leeds vs QPR
    Selection: Leeds@4/7
    Crewe vs Reading
    Selection: Reading@4/9
    Newcastle vs Portsmouth
    Selection: Newcastle@8/11

    Accumulator Potential Return: £105.26

  3. 7 Selection/Accumulator @ £5

If that wasn't enough, I thought it only fair to involve the Mackems in this for a laugh, so take the above plus this:

    West Ham vs Sunderland
    Selection: West Ham@1/2

    Accumulator Potential Return: £157.88

  4. 7 Selection/sixfold @ £3.50

Not as good a return, but if you stick a sixfold from all 7 games from bet (3) above:

    Sixfolds from 7 = Potential Return: £68.56

Before anyone asks, yes I am indecisive, yes I do analyse this $hit far too much, and no I'd never be happy with any of the above bets.

My fiver is on bet (2), plus the cheeky lucky dips on the lottery, just can't help myself.

Have a good weekend, Dave

Result: LOSER!

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 1/R3L2 – Roundup

DJ Campbell :
He wasn’t in the Cup cos he didn’t qualify and only got into the prestigious Spring Lucky 13 cos he’s now an honourary board member at PAS Towers. Yes, Dave Nicklin 37 (5), picks up the first £20 (always nice!) and can now play for fun for the remaining 12 weeks – howay!
Sunderpants:
Wigan, Bolton, out of the PAS Cup to the mother-in-law, 11(0)… My week was complete! I don’t like football…
Correct Score of the Week:
Loads got the Arse demise, a lot got Man Yoo (how to play properly in the Cup Mr Wenger if you’re reading..), a few got Villa, a handful guessed Brentford (Jamie S / Jon T / Matt W), Dave N should have won with his Huddersfield 3 Oldham 2. However, the current holder is Mark Fawke for his Colchester 3 Derby 1(scant consolation for finishing one point off the prize money?)
Bet of the Week :
Mr Nicklin, you’re up first – what will you be wagering £5 on next week?
The Cup – R3 2nd leg results
Ding dong battle between the Neil’s B & M – Simon S is the lowest scoring person to progress – John W is the highest scoring person to go out…

Spring Cup Draw will be made soon – 4th round is on weekend 18th/19th February.

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : Don’t try and move house and do your scores – it doesn’t work…

Spring Cup 2006 : Pre-Season

Hola!

A couple of people have dropped out so a couple of people who finished just outside the Top 32 have been invited to join us…

Start those cheques/transfers coming in – we kick off PAS Lucky 13 Spring 2006 on w/e 28th/29th January and end thirteen weeks later on w/e April 22nd/23rd 2006.

Get that £22.50 rolling in please (cheques made payable to me!)

The 1st week of the PAS League is also the 2nd leg of the 3rd round of the Cup!

Cheers,
Pab

Spring Cup 2006 1st Round 1st Leg (FA Cup 3rd Round)

Robbie! Robbie! Robbie!:
Not the best week to “win” as there’s no prize money – but upping her kudos is the missus, Michelle F 35(5) and she even had the sense not put Man yoo as her “joker”!
Spurs:
All those “no shows” who didn’t send scores in – you fools! 12(0) is your scant reward!
Correct Score of the Week:
Loads got Blackburn and Millwall, and quite a few got WBA, Man Citeh, Wigan & Sunderland – this weeks award is null & void unless someone wants to put a case forward?
Jokers:
No one took full advantage, 4 of you chose Man U or Fulham (duh!) and two of you (John W & Dan McG) didn’t bother to nominate a “joker” game!
Payments:
Yep we’re all in the same boat being skint after Christmas, but if you can, start getting your £22.50’s in to me asap
All payments in by 28th January please – you can send a post dated cheque if you prefer.

PAS Lucky 13 Spring 2006 – We begin with Week 1 on the weekend of January 28/29. This will also double up as the 3rd round 2nd leg.

The scoresheet will appear on the webpage early next week – in the meantime sit back, relax, start studying the form and look forward to the results of our Christmas “Year End” survey for all things music & football…

Cheers,
Pab

Spring Cup 2006 : Pre-Season

Congratulations! You made it through and now will be involved in the Cup competition that runs alongside the next Lucky 13 campaign. Also, you’re guaranteed entry into the World Cup special in June – cool eh?!

First off – IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO TAKE PART NEXT YEAR PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP!!!

The cost will go up slightly to £22.50 (to pay for the Cup comp) and I know you’re all good for the money so as long as you get the money in by the end of Jan (after the next payday, that’s cool)

The 1st scoresheet you will receive will be for the 1st round of the Cup on weekend 6/7 Jan – if you haven’t got thru to this stage before, basically what happens is you get drawn against one another and are playing against each other – highest scorer goes thru to the next round and so on to the Final.

The 1st round of the Cup does not carry a £20 weekly prize.

The 1st week of Lucky 13 Spring 2006 will start the following week and run for 13 weeks in the same format as you’ve just completed.

I’ll get Dave N to post up the 1st Cup scoresheet asap and I will mail round the “draw” soon as well.

Any queries/questions – give me a shout

Cheers,
Pab
