PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’24 Week 4 round up

“Pep said if I make myself really really small, those VAR lines won’t see me…heh heh heh.”

F****d My Way To The Top:

A bit like the football this weekend, most people won’t be happy with the outcome…

Ahem.

Six punters reached 30 or more points this week with old-skooler Ryan G revisiting the halcyon days of yore, Hira Y smashing in a couple of “last kick of the game” correct scores but ultimately falling short, Lily T cursing Leicester (I hear you Lily!) and Kate S being robbed by Dirty Leeds on Friday night…

That left <cough> one player out upfront who missed the first game and collected a correct score to set the tone for his weekend.

Dan Hogwood 40 (7) actually found time to do his scores this week and reaped the rewards by claiming the £20 weekly prize.

As a Board member, he was thoroughly put through the wringer by myself & Dave N, and honestly, we tried every technicality in the book to deny him the prize.

Not really through a sense of fairplay & transparency, more green-eyed jealousy that he came waltzing back after an age away and cleaned up leaving us in his wake.

Grrrrrrr.

“Well done” Dan, looking to forward to your annual review in a few weeks time…

Summertime Sadness:

Meanwhile, back in the slog of the real world…

Nearly a quarter of the field scored 15 points or less this week with 5 people not registering a correct score between them.

And finally sadly, we had single digit returns.

Who?

Scott Harrison & Bijay Lama 9 (0) is who.

Boo hoo.

Correct Score of the Week:

It was raining late late goals…most popular score was Charlton’s 1-1 draw with Stockport – 30 of us got that!

Six were all over the 1-3 to the Villa at Fulham

Mike K, Matthew E & Greg F revelled in the schadenfreude of Luton’s late late show

Stephen P, Lily T & Dan H obviously guessed Spurs would beat West Ham 4-1

Neil M & Dickie H doffed a cap to St Johnstone’s 3-0 deconstruction of Ross County

Julian F & Damian W snaffled up the 5 points served up by Celtic & Aberdeen’s two-all draw

Ben McK & Hira Y felt Fergie vibes when that Jordan Ayew 98th minute goal secured a 9 pointer 2-3 at Southampton

Thomas S nabbed the form book upsetting Kilmarnock 1 Rangers 0

Damian W (again!) said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for his Motherwell 0 Dundee 1

Thomas S (again!) thanked the Lord for Danny Welbeck

However, this week’s best correct score, goes to Elliot Davy for his I’ll-see-your-90-minute-plus-goal-and-double-it-mate inspired, Dundee Utd 3 Hibs 2!

Bet of the Week:

Jonathas M was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 3 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

It was a “no-show”!

Well, he is a newbie…

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – that’ll do!

Paul H, Chris D & Sam A are at 33rd this week…Chris Dixon was first out the hat!

Christophe, I need your 3 team selection by Friday lunchtime, please!

Another winner would be luvverly…

Table News:

Money Power Glory”:

Hira Yonzan is up 4 places to top billing and goes 9 points ahead of Laura H who, in turn, is three points ahead of Olly O in third.

Four crashed the Top Ten.

Born to Die”:

Bijay Lama falls two places to the bottom, 3 points adrift of Lee T, who, in turn, is 4 points behind Norman L…

Happiness Is A Butterfly”:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 62 places is Dan Hogwood – honourable mentions go to Lily T (+59), Kate S (+42), Ryan G (+40), Matt W (+35), Charlie H (+34), Peter M (+32), and Martin S (+30)

Ultraviolence”:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 40 places is Scott Harrison – dishonourable mentions go to Simon Linds (-37), Tony M  (-34), Predictz (-32), Andy C (-31), and Will O (-30).

Still early doors people, early doors…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 final table round up

“Trust The Process”:

So, who won?

Well, you’d never have guessed…

Bucking the seemingly perennial trend of leading from the front & winning at least one weekly prize, this was a refreshing, nay, heartwarming, story of a winning campaign – one that gives us all hope…   : )

It was all a bit “Championshipsy” ( I told you it was refreshing!) this season as players jostled for the top spot on a regular basis – we had no less than seven table toppers over the season!

Whilst Citeh did what City do with their robotic belief & consistency in the real world, our champion pretty much went down the Russell Martin route of keep on doing it and it will come good…eventually.

A few players kinda threatened to win it, but…

We went into the final week with just 10 points separating the Top Six & we finished with just three points between the Top 5 – the first time in ages the winning tally didn’t feature in the “Best Totals Ever” (you have to get 350+ points for a start) and maybe the first time a title was won on “correct scores”(?!)

Oh, the drama!

Our “Spring” champ started the season off at an encouraging 6th, before dropping to 13th in Week 2.

Any further dips?

Yep.

Week 3 it was down to 17th, a brief respite up one place, and then down to a season low 18th in Week 5.

A season high score of 36 (6) in Week 6 heralded a jump back to the Top Ten to 7th, followed by further increments to 5th and 2nd.

Week 9, and it was top of the table!

The jitters kicked in with a season low score of 10 (0) in Week 10 resulting in a fall to 5th.

A recovery to 4th in Week 11 before another drop to 7th in Week 12.

That left a barnstorming 34 pointer of a week to see victory delivered in dramatic fashion courtesy of 11 correct scores (six of the best saved for Week 13)

So, lords, ladies & gents, please be upstanding and doff your caps to Andy Kelly, 342 (48) – He. Is. A. Winner!

Bravo Mr K, you can stand proud with Stanley Bowles, Ladbroke Grove Market, Sarah Cracknell, Stuarts on the Uxbridge Road, Robert Smith, Gerry Francis, Sir Les, Adel Taarabt, my nephew, Pete Doherty, Dave Thomas, The Springbok and, Trevor Sinclair for repping QPR well   : )

As mentioned, Andy won by a slender 11 correct scores (on trend this season!) from a very unlucky Paul Vinson in second place (more of him later…)

Simon Buxton finished three points behind in third spot (probably waving at Jack in the distance) and ousted Olly Osmond into 4th spot courtesy of 6 correct scores.

Spitzenjunge of our German contingent was Roshan Thapa a further three correct scores behind in 5th – who, in turn, was 2 points ahead of a refreshed Dan Wayman in sixth position.

Dom Webber was 1 point behind in seventh spot. How “Toon” of you Dom…

Just three correct scores further back, Rowan Marriott can reflect on a fine season, despite unreal circumstances, in eighth place.

And, speaking of fine seasons, eight points behind him in 9th, the apple of the Syndicate’s eye Richard Hirst! (more on him later too!)

Three points back a relieved Chelski fan Harry Hopper just edged out the final weekly winner, Danny Ashworth to claim tenth by 1 correct score.

“AngeBall”:

Only 18 points, but 80 places, separated our new champion from our wooden spoon champion, Thomas Stafford 229 (22) in Week 1!

Kids, eh, Martin?!

Awkward…

Starting in 86th, poor Thomas never really recovered.

Like a magnet drawn to rubbish scoring, he plummeted to second bottom in Week 2, then…

Week 3 it was down to the Bottom.

And there he stayed thanks to three weeks of zero correct scores and 2 x single digit returns (including the season low of 7 (0) in Week 3)

Week 6 saw a climb to 97th and a season-high score of 26 (4) in Week 7 helped stay there til Week 9.

Week 10 and it was back to the basement berth 98th.

And there the young man stayed, securing the wooden spoon for Wigan (as Croydon sighed with relief…).

Gary M, Mike K, Rukesh K, Predictz, Neil C, Dilip A, and a dazed & confused, hopelessly lost Ben H made gallant efforts over the season to save Tom’s blushes, but…

Spot Prizers

Ok, YOU have finished on these positions AND you HAVE WON those prizes!

Dickie Holloway on 13th, Ryan Graves on 17th, Neil Templeton on 23rd, Stuart Fitzsimon on 27th, Simon Lindquist on 33rd, Rob Currin on 39th, Peter Morley on 42nd, Neil Osborne on 45th, Patricia Fernandez on 57th, Paul Carter on 60th, Darren McCarthy on 65th, Ben McKeown on 71st, Mr 2-0 & John Dowd on 83rd, Norman Lee on 89th and Ben Hogwood on 93rd…

Small victories kids – lap it up!

Click here to view the full table & to see how much you won!

*** All prize money will be winging its way over later this week – promise! Look out for that Monzo link notification on email/text/WA!***

Oh, and I’ve taken your £10 entry fee for PAS Euro ’24 to save you sending it back to me (I’m nice like that) – however, if you don’t want to take part (shame on you!), let me know and i’ll send it on!

PAS Champions League 2023/24:

The final between Neil Osborne & Richard Hirst concluded with “Part Two” on June 1st 2024…

Neil Osborne 38 (7) – 43 (8) Richard Hirst

Neil Osborne 25 (2) – 26 (2) Richard Hirst – Part One

Neil Osborne 13 (5) – 17 (6) Richard Hirst – Part Two

A classy affair that was helped by a “predictable” Final – congrats to our new CL Cup holder – Tricky, you are the Madrid of PAS!

PAS Cup 2024:

The final between Paul Vinson & Richard Hirst concluded on June 1st 2024…

Paul Vinson 34 (5) – 33 (5) Richard Hirst

Paul Vinson 22 (1) – 26 (2) Richard Hirst – Part One

Paul Vinson 12 (4) – 7 (3) Richard Hirst – Part Two

It was a proper nailbiter (thanks to that upset on May 25th) and, here at PAS Towers, we were having kittens about the nightmare scenario of extra time…

But, congrats to our new Cup holder – Paul, you are the Man Utd of PAS!

PAS Champions League 2024/25 Group Stages

Congratulations to our friend in the North, Chris Dixon, for sneaking the last spot (by two correct scores!) for entry to PAS Champions League 2024/25 Group Stages.

The Top 32 have qualified and the big draw will take place when the real CL one does…no, we’re not doing that format!

Other little bits

Mike Cass (fine debut sir!) & Will Oppong (congrats on Kid B!) pick up £5 each for sharing the Best Weekly Score of the Season on Week 2 & 10 respectively –  47 (9)

Rowan Marriott picked up £10 for getting the Best Correct Score of the Season – Newcastle United 4 West Ham United 3!

Plaudits

Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to play, we couldn’t do it without you!

And a final big thank you to Dave N Dan H for providing all the behind-the-scenes tech stuff to enable another great (relatively glitch-free!) season…

See you very soon PASers.

Cheers, and enjoy your summer…

Oh,

look at this from Sky Super 6!

come and have a go next season…   : )

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 Week 13 round up

“Facts”

Shake Your Money:

Ooops, just a bit late this week – blame the NLD.

I was at a play that Frankie was in on Sunday afternoon and only just caught up with the game at White Hart Lane – blame the drama kids.

Anyway, it was quite an unremarkable PAS week considering only 11 people managed more than thirty points!

Chris D, Charlie H & Damian W went close but they couldn’t halt old skooler Danny Ashworth 41 (7) who basically has VAR at Villa to thank for the final weekly £20 prize!

Congrats Danny boy –  gonna keep that money to buy yourself a pint at Wembley on May 25th?!

In The Name Of The Father:

Probably wishing they were late this week, are the eighteen bods who couldn’t rustle up more than 15 points this week.

Twelve didn’t get a correct score.

Matt Worsfold 10 (0) spared Simon Linds & me the final “shame” of the season…

Gracias me ol’ china!

Correct Score of the Week:

Bravo!…most popular score was Huddersfield’s 1-1 draw with Birmingham City– 22 of youse got that!

Twelve nailed Villa 2 Chelsea 2

12 more basked in the ecstasy of Spurs 2 Arsenal 3

Six just knew PNE wouldn’t score against Leicester for a 0-3

4 obviously guessed Hibs would beat St Johnstone 1-3

Martin S, Chris D & Mike K got the dull-all at Rugby Park

Ben H, Dave C & Andy B had the “Desmond” between West Ham & Liverpool

Neil O, Matthew M & Damian W stumbled upon Newcastle Utd 5 Sheffield Utd 1

Neil C & Hira Y snaffled up the 5 points on offer for Norwich City 2 Swansea City 2

Andy C & Martin S (again) made short work of the 0-0 at Blackburn Rovers

Ryan G believed in Citeh, a 0-2 belief…

Reagon K saw his typo come good on the game at Southampton

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Chris Dixon for his trust-me-here’s-the-last-best-score-of-the-season inspired, Hull City 3 Ipswich Town 3!

Bet of the Week:

Martin Stafford was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 12 so I asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the final £3 “trixie” bet of the season.

And guess what?!

So close to a fitting ending!

“BotW…. I asked my boys to pick it. They forgot. So both teams to score championship special.

Hull City v Ipswich
Sheff Weds v West Brom
Cardiff v Middlesbrough
We don’t bet on darts in the age of Littler – he is the destroyer of value returns….”
Only WBA let us down by failing to score at lowly Wednesday so, I for one, hope they miss out on the playoffs…

So, £1.90 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd leaving it on £1.90 – scant consolation for missing out on PAS CL qualification (not that i’d know about that…)

Table News:

One crashed the Top Ten.

Kelly’s Heroes”:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 27 places, is Chris Dixon – honourable mentions go to Danny A (+15), Damian W (+14), Charlie H  (+16), Eddir O (+13), Andy C (+12), Ricjh L (+14), George T (+13), and Gareth M (+14)

Tramazi Parti:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 16 places, is Simon Lindsay – dishonourable mentions go to Darren McC (-13), Patricia F (-13), El Presidente (-15), Justin C (-12), Stephen P (-12), Louis W (-14) and Stuart F (-10)

PAS Cup 2024:

The Semi-Finals went ahead this week…

It. Was. Decisive!

We had 3 successful jokers! 1 close game! And, one hammering!

One won their game with 18 points & one lost their game with 22 points!

But who made the Final?

Well….

Congrats to our finalists!

Paul Vinson  v Richard Hirst (the Cup double is on!)

Two-part final, the showcase being Man City v Man Utd

Y’all will be updated on the progress & full result…

Final – “part one” May 11th – June 1st

And Another Thing:

Thank you very much for taking part in another fab season – we couldn’t do it without you!

Please come back soon.

June, actually.

Make a note as you’ll be getting a constant stream of reminders from, erm, now onwards…

It’s The PAS Euros – the only PAS competition I’ve ever won (remember “Brolin, Dahlin, Brolin…”? I do!)

And it’s only a tenner to enter! (read the rules here!)

Special thanks to Dan & Dave once again for all their tireless work behind the scenes – they’ve made us amazing yet again!

Prize Money Update  –

League, Cup & CL prize money will be paid out at the end of the season.

So don’t worry, Crypto creeps haven’t got your winnings – I have!

That’s it for this season! Well, nearly….full season update to follow…

When the season ends!

Mwwahhhhahaha…

Cheers,
Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 Week 12 round up

I’m telling you, these modern boots with their flimsy material & long toes…

Pearly Dewdrops’ Drop:

As another PAS season draws to a close it’s proving to be the closest one ever, so much so, that we were considering a Sky Sports style “ticker” to give out live scores during Week 13!

Yeah, that exciting!

And we were all going to wear yellow ties too…

In keeping with that “close at the top” theme, six people got 30 points or more this week (with a boatload more very close behind)

Strong claims to win the week?

An unrecognisable Neil C knocked in 3 correct scores after last gasp goals at Wolves, Cardiff & Boltonto go close, and Ben McK went closer still only for a 93rd minute Burger goal at Stoke to wee on his chips…

So who won then?

Matt Worsfold 38 (4) had some sweet relief from West Ham’s shellacking at Palace thanks to a 99th minute goal at Doncaster earning him a ridiculous number of points that took him just clear to claim the £20 weekly prize!

Boiled beef & cabbage or pie ‘n’ mash (“loads o’ liquor!”) on this fine St George’s Day then Maffew?

Cherry Coloured Funk:

Mr 2-0 did well this week.

That usually spells danger.

10 bods scored less than fifteen points this week.

Six didn’t get a sniff of a correct score (spare a thought for Will O though!)

Propping up the rest this week are Lily Templeton & Dilip Adhikari 11 (0).

To be fair, that’s hardly a disaster score.

Well.

Maybe in Week 12 it is…

Correct Score of the Week:

And we’re back in the room…most popular score was Leicester’s 2-1 win against WBA– 36 of youse got that!

Twenty-eight obviously guessed Villa would beat Bournemouth 3-1

24 just knew Fulham would score against Liverpool for a 1-3

Six got the dull-all at the New York Stadium (that’s Rotherham, mum)

Debbie L & Greg F had their secret prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at Watford

Paul C & Tim P put us all to shame by predicting Burton 3 Reading 2

Roshan T nabbed the form book upsetting Blackburn Rovers 1 Sheffield Wednesday 3

Debbie L (again!) got last minute Mr 2-0 spoiling Stoke 3 Plymouth o

However, this week’s best correct score, goes to Matt Worsfold for his wait-for-it-wait-for-it-wait-for-it-wait-waittttt-booom! inspired, Doncaster Rovers 4 Barrow 2!

Bet of the Week:

Andy Chesworth was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 11 so I asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Oh dear.

“Southampton, United and Bolton all to win. Not a clue what the odds are as I honestly don’t think I’ve ever placed a bet on football, and probably never will.”
Wise words, Andy, wise words…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th leaving it on £0 – avoid, avoid, avoid!

Martin Stafford was at 33rd this week….

M, I need your 3 team selection by Friday morning, please!

Another blast on the darts then??!

Table News:

Heaven Or Las Vegas:

Game on! Dom Webber stays top, just 2 points ahead of Roshan T who, in turn, is two points ahead of Olly O in third…exciting!

One crashed the Top Ten!

Blind Dumb Deaf:

Game on! Thomas Stafford stays bottom, but now only five points behind Mike K who, in turn, is one point adrift of Ben H…exciting!

Iceblink Luck:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 19 places is Peter Morley – honourable mentions go to Ben McK (+17), and Kate S (+18).

Sugar Hiccup:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 17 places is Andy Chesworth – dishonourable mentions go to Darren McC (-12), Ric P (-12), Sam A (-11), George T (-12) and Deepak B (-12).

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 Week 11 round up

Bitter? Moi…?

The Kids Are Alright:

I wwwwwwonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!

Wait! What?! A Spurs fan? What about them? They did what??! Same score as me???! How??! But, but I did a really good score and even beat Frankie this week! Why do Spurs have spoil everything for everyone all of the time?! I can’t even have this one ray of sunshine to myself in a bleak results of a weekend??! Who was it??!

The King?!

Oh.

Ok then. I’m honoured to share a stage with him…

Yep, Pab/El Presidente/Moi & Jazz Sian 39 (5) shared the £20 weekly prize in a beast of a week that saw just 7 punters amass thirty points or more.

The added on time goals were racked up (we both got Man City & Motherwell!) and a rare victory for yours truly was ripped away by Onyeka’s 93rd minute 2nd for Brentford denying me another correct score and securing one for Jazz.

So, spoils shared as the Old Skool rise up and kinda threaten the bright young things currently dominating where it matters.

Congrats, mi amigo.

Gonna lash that tenner on you lot to beat us lot in your Cup Final at the end of the month?

I Can’t Explain:

Meanwhile….

At the other end, just under a third of youse didn’t score more than 15 points.

Beastly.

Eleven didn’t get a correct score.

And only one canary is in the coalmine marked “didn’t get to double figures”.

Ben Hogwood 8 (0) is the toast of Suffolk this week!

Correct Score of the Week:

At last…most popular score was Sheffield Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Stoke City – 24 of youse got that!

Thirteen revelled in the schadenfreude of Celtic’s late late 3-0 show vs St Mirren

11 nailed Nottm Forest 2 Wolves 2

Seven banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt Barnsley & Reading

6 quite rightly predicted City’s 5-1 thrashing of Luton Town

Five we’re so happy for Bournemouth 2-2 Man Utd they will actually wear that ballet dress…

4 thrilled at the thrilling 99th minute deciding Southampton 3 Watford 2

Olly O & Lee T doffed a cap to Hull’s 3-0 deconstruction of the Super Hoops

Stephen P made us all green by happening upon PNE 0-1 Norwich City

However, this week’s best correct score, goes to Martin Stafford for his wanna-see-dour?-I-can-dour-with-the-best-of-them inspired, Aberdeen 0 Dundee 0!

Bet of the Week:

Nick Hogwood was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 10 so I asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Boy done good!

“Slightly rouge
Draw with both teams to score – Forest vs Wolves
Draw with both teams to score – West Ham vs Fulham
More than 10.5 corners Liverpool vs Crystal Palace”
So that was a yes, a definite no and another yes…just!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 Week 10 round up

Genetics…

Paradise:

Jeez, that was a brutal week, eh?!

Only 5 players scored over thirty points and none of them got anywhere close to the £20 weekly prize winner!

Despite not predicting 3 scores, putting Hull down to win 2-6 at Cardiff(!), and a last-gasp goal at Sheff U robbing him of 4 more points, it was still won at a canter.

Added-on time winners from Luton & Huddersfield + 4 x 5 pointers landed Will Oppong 47 (9) a handsome victory.

In a good week for the Arsenal, this was also a very good week for a Gooner!

Well done Willo – trust the process <big smiley face emoji>

When Am I Going To Make A Living:

Jeez, that was a brutal week, eh?!

A massive forty one punters scored less than 15 points this week.

Of those, 9 couldn’t manage a correct score.

And it was a real bunfight to reach the bottom of the barrel…

Greg F, Reagon K & Nick H tried their best.

Only to leave Danny Ashworth 6 (0) with nothing else but being at OT to be pleased about this week.

Correct Score of the Week:

Erm…most popular score was Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Nottm Forest – 33 of youse got that!

Nine landed on that two-two in Manchester.

6 snaffled up the 5 points served up by Stoke & WBA

Five celebrated the bore draw between Livingston & Aberdeen

5 more were well away with the 0-3 away win for Arsenal

Jamie S, Will O & Martin S turned up Sunderland 0 Bristol City 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there.

Danny B, Matt W & Dilip A got the 1-3 Hull City win over Cardiff City

Luke S had St Johnstone’s 1-2 win at Hibs

Luke S (again) had Blackburn 0 Southampton 0

Luke S (again. again!) had Motherwell’s 93rd minute 2-3 win at Dundee

Luke S Patricia F got Fulham 0 Newcastle 1

Stuart F got that two-two in Chelsea.

However, this week’s best correct score, goes to Dom Webber for his i’m-not-biased-either-way-honest-i’ll-even-cross-myself-to-prove-it inspired, Rangers 3 Celtic 3!

Bet of the Week:

Suman Kaflee was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 9 so I asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

It was a “no show”.

With this week’s results, who can blame him?!

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd leaving it on £15.08 – luverlee job!

Peter Morley & Nick Hogwood were at 60th this week….and Nick was first out the hat!

Nicholas, I need your 3 team selection by Friday morning, please!

I’m confident for a full house fella!

Table News:

No Ordinary Love:

All change! Dom Webber moves up 7 places to the pinnacle, 5 points ahead of Roshan T  who, in turn, is three points ahead of Dan W in third…

One crashed the Top Ten!

Haunt Me:

All change! Thomas Stafford sinks one place to the bottom, eleven points behind Neil C who, in turn, is four points adrift of Mike K

Smooth Operator:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 45 places is Will Oppong – honourable mentions go to Neil T (+19), Stephen P (+19), Elliot D (+24), Matthew M (+21), Eddie O (+17), and Luke S (+16).

The Sweetest Taboo:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 28 places is Nick Hogwood – dishonourable mentions go to Danny A (-19), Greg F (-16), and John K (-15).

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 Week 9 round up

Pebbles.Fistful.Hit.Door.Barnes…

AKA…What A Life!:

A bit like blue crystal meth, you may drift in & out of fashion but you’ll always be what others are benchmarked against (yep, i’m watching Breaking Bad again…).

In days of yore, the Brothers Morris & their brigade regularly cleared out the PAS coffers for appointed bursar Mark S to lock away their gambling-gotten gains in a safe rumored to be in the vaults of Mr Thomas’s Chop House in Manchester.

Well, the “Syndicate” is back in fashion folks!

This week saw are whopping thirty-five people smash in 30 points or more, 5 topped forty or more!

Rowan M & he of the “Syndicate”, Richard H, went close with some serious scoring (yeah, serious scoring for one of them!)

Nick H was literally crossing the finish line when up rocked Daniel James with a seriously impressive finish at Elland Road (funny he couldn’t do that from half the distance a week ago, but hey…)

Our £20 weekly winner will rightly claim that 97th minute goal sealed his victory, but that was only part of a whopping 19 points that came from goals scored in added-on time!

Paul Henshaw 43 (7) is the golden boy this week – I’m sure your peers will toast you well P!

The shadowy “Syndicate” is back people.

Beware!

If I Had A Gun:

…and at the other end of the scale, I think we had first!

Only one player scored under 15 points this week.

Only one player got zero correct scores.

Andy Brown 14 (0) it was only you.

I’m sure the Syndicate boys will buy you a beer mate….

Correct Score of the Week:

My word…most popular score was Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 draw with Paliss AND Rangers’ 3-1 win over Hibs– 24 of youse & us got that!

Twenty one lapped up the injury time joy of Leeds 3 Hull 1

17 were all over the 0-3 to the Celtic at Livingston

Twelve(!) felt Fergie vibes when that 97th minute Ipswich goal secured a 9 pointer 3-2 v Southampton

10 were grateful to Jamie V for the 3-1 Foxes win over the Canaries

Four got Watford’s “Desmond” with Leeds

Pete B, Lee T & Dickie H had Barrow’s 3-1 win over Grimsby

Julian F decided to deploy catenaccio to reap the rewards at the Etihad. And he did…

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season, goes to Rowan Marriott for his sorry-about-my-BotW-but-I-was-keeping-this-one-for-myself inspired, Newcastle 4 West Ham 3!

Bet of the Week:

Rowan Marriott was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 8 so I asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Christ on a…
The away day special of Leeds winning at Watford, Fulham at Sheff U and Man U at Brentford was a Bank holiday weekend washout!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd – one to avoid me thinks…

Suman Kaflee is at 83rd this week….

Herr K, I need your 3 team selection by Friday morning, please!

Gonna go all Bundesliga on us?!

Table News:

Holy Mountain:

All change! Andy Kelly moves up 1 to the top of the tree, 6 points ahead of Paul V who, in turn, is one point ahead of Roshan T in third…

Two crashed the Top Ten!

The Dying Of The Light:

Neil Critchlow is still bottom, but now only one point behind Thomas S who, in turn, is ten points adrift of Predictz…c’mon boys!

It’s A Beautiful World:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 29 places is Nick Hogwood – honourable mentions go to Rowan M (+18), Simon Lindq (+16), Julian F (+16), Paul H (+27), and El Presidente (+18).

Dream On:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 24 places is Andy Fowler – dishonourable mentions go to Andy B (-22), Paul C (-17), Elliott D (-24), and Patricia F (-19).

And Another Thing:

“After the [court] judgment, [Manchester United] absolutely wanted me to speak to the press. I didn’t want to but they said it’s important you have to speak to the press. So I said, OK I will speak to the press, in the sense that they want me to speak – I’ll say any old thing. They wanted me to speak, I spoke. It just came out and then I left. And the press, they all tried to find a sense to it and make it all philosophical. You know, it just came out like that; maybe it came from my subconscious and maybe unconsciously it created a sense, but the best sense of it was, you make me speak, I speak and who cares whether the words make sense” – Eric Cantona ends almost three decades of speculation as to the meaning of those “seagulls” and “sardines” remarks.

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 Week 8 round up

Starboy 2.0

Torch:

Was you expecting the points-fest on International Week as per yesteryears?

Unfortunately, it was a reality check for all as the dream of 40, 50, and 60 points remained just that, a dream.

You could tell it was a “meh” week as Mr 2-0 fared well – so well done to you if you “tactically” opted out of submitting scores this week….<growls><snarls><vomits>

Only eight clocked up 30 points or more and only none sprung forward past the forty point mark!

Paul F put up a spirited scrap for the weekly honour (undone by a 96 min equaliser at Carlisle!) but was ultimately brushed aside by a resurgent Dan Wayman 38 (6) who has Italy’s 94th minute goal “at” Ecuador to thank as it snapped him up the £20.

Well done Dan, finally got that “double” monkey off your back then!

Say Hello, Wave Goodbye:

Well, well, well. I think this is a first…

I did Frankie’s scores and managed not to get her any correct scores – hehehe! Wait? What…?

Still, 15 players couldn’t notch any more than fifteen points.

7 matched “Frankie’s” effort…

But who was the only player with a single-digit total & worst of the week?

Eddie Osborne 9 (0) – that’s who!

Correct Score of the Week:

Wevs…most popular score was Germany’s 2-1 win over the Netherlands – 21 of youse got that!

Seventeen just knew Wrexham wouldn’t keep a clean sheet for a 1-3 at Grimsby

12 snaffled up the 5 points served up by England & Belgium (I hope the Belgians all dye their hair ginger for the Euros btw – y’know, to really complete that “look”)

Four got the 4 goal demolition of Scotland in Holland

Emma T celebrated like Walsall at Highbury in ’83 after that 1-2 Notts Co v Salford

Damian W put us all to shame by predicting Mansfield 1 Colchester 1

John K said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for his Northampton Town 1-0 Derby County

Danny B celebrated the last gasp two-all draw between Carlisle & Stevenage

Debbie L somehow stumbled on Wales 4 Finland 1 (how????)

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season, goes to Matthew Stafford for his who-cares-about-rugby-league-when-you’ve-footie-like-this inspired, Spain 3 Brazil 3!

Bet of the Week:

Justin Corliss was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 7 so I asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Full house!
Yes, after much toing & froing over NBA & Aussie Rules games not appearing on SkyBet (and missing the Netherlands beating Scotland!) our Edinburgh-residing Man From Down Under came good…
Boston Celtics to beat Chicago Bulls – tick
Houston Rockets to beat Utah Jazz – tick
Denver Nuggets to beat Portland Trail Blazers – boom!
You li’l ripper!

So, £4.81 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – Fosters time!

Rowan Marriott is at 33rd this week….

Jefe, I need your 3 team selection by Friday morning, please!

Table News:

Memorabilia:

Roshan Thepa moves up 1 to the top slot, 1 point ahead of Andy K who, in turn, is eight correct scores ahead of Louis W in third…

Two crashed the Top Ten!

Insecure Me:

Neil Critchlow stays rooted to the bottom, now fourteen points behind Thomas S who, in turn, is eight points adrift of Predictz

So:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 31 places is Paul Flaherty – honourable mentions go to Dickie H (+19), John K (+20), Simon Lindq (+18), and Stuart F (+21).

What!:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 31 places is Eddie Osborne – dishonourable mentions go to Deepak B (-24), Sam A (-22), Paul C (-24), and Peter M (-20).

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 Week 7 round up

Lolz…

Sexy Boy:

What can you say about this week?

Not a lot.

So I won’t…

Only ONE person scored over 30 points this week!

And he won it.

At a canter…

Not sure how(ay) he did it, but Chris Dixon 37 (6) rose up from the depths of 89th in the League to spectacularly snatch up the £20 weekly prize.

So, yeah.

Amazing!

J’ai Dormi Sous L’eau:

So yeah, we all did bad!

But some more badder than others.

Nineteen couldn’t even reach 15 points.

Eleven didn’t manage a correct score (spare a thought for Roshan T though!)

And two didn’t make double figures.

Elliot D’s blushes were spared by Reagon Karki 5 (0). Yep, five.

Not sure how you did it mate…

So, yeah.

Amazing!

Correct Score of the Week:

I can only gawp in awe…most popular score was Celtic’s 3-1 win over St Johnstone – 18 of us got that!

Nine doffed a cap to Hibernian’s 3-0 deconstruction of Livvy

Olly O, Ben H & Damian W we’re so happy for Man Utd 2-2 Liverpool they will actually wear that ballet dress…

Frankie F, Neil C & David G turned up Rotherham 0 Huddersfield 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there

Dave C & Sam A revelled in the schadenfreude of Chelsea’s late late show against Leicester in the Cup

Chris D was well away with the 0-1 away win for Sutton Utd

Louis W believed in Ross County. A 2-1 kinda belief…

Neil T had his secret prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at the Stadium of Light

Julian F was all over the 0-3 to Norwich at Stoke.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Stanley Marriott for his I-knew-Man Yoo-would-beat-Liverpool-too-cos-I-love-Mainoo inspired, Barrow 0 Harrogate Town 0!

Bet of the Week:

Dave Crisp was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 6 so I asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Luton to beat Forest – ooooh!
QPR to win at Sunderland – ahhhhh!
Norwich to win at Stoke – yep
Unlucky Davide – you were close fella!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th, leaving it on £2.85 – never mind…

Justin Corliss is at 45th this week….

J, I need your 3 team selection by Thursday morning, please!

Can you get us back on track…in International Week?!

Table News:

You Make It Easy:

Paul Vinson vaults up 3 to the top spot, 1 point ahead of Roshan T who, in turn, is five points ahead of Simon B in third…

Three crashed the Top Ten!

All I Need:

Neil Critchlow stays propping up the rest, now ten points behind Thomas S who, in turn, is fourteen points adrift of Predictz…ha!

Kelly Watch The Stars:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 25 places is Chris Dixon – honourable mentions go to Sam A (+24), Eddie O (+16), and Jasper M (+15).

How Does It Make You Feel?:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 26 places is Reagon K – dishonourable mentions go to Elliot D (-20), Andy B (-18), Nick H (-18), and Pab (-18). I know, I know…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 Week 6 round up

Nothing to see here…

Just Like Honey:

I’ll cut to the chase here as my nose is still bleeding from the heady heights of life above & beyond the “Round of Arsenal” in the Champions League…<big smiley emoji>

Big totals posted once again, as eighteen punters scored 30 points or more with Paul V, Julian F & Charlie H putting in half decent shifts.

Frankie F, once again benefitting from not doing her scores and muggins here doing them for her, went closer.

And Rich L went close(ish) courtesy of 3 x 90 min+ goals from Luton, Fulham & Millwall.

However, Sam Arora 47 (7) rolled back the years and then some.

The return of the good times guaranteed by Jacob Murphy’s 90th minute consolation at Chelsea.

Congrats Sam, the £20 weekly prize will be with you very soon…reckon this win can tempt the other Aroras back to the fold next season?

Far Gone & Out:

Seeing the rest of the field pull away from you isn’t a nice feeling is it?

5 players experienced that sinking feeling this week, scoring fifteen points or less.

Six couldn’t buy a correct score (spare a thought for poor ol’ Justin C though…)

But only one didn’t break into double figures…

Step into the light, Neil Critchlow 9 (0), you are this week’s Rotherham.

Correct Score of the Week:

Some corkers here…most popular score was Coventry’s 1-2 win at Watford – 28 of us got that!

Eleven got the very annoying last minute spoiling Chelsea 3 Newcastle Utd 2

6 nailed Hull City 2 Leicester City 2

Six more thanked the Lord for Neil Warnock and Aberdeen 3 Kilmarnock 1

4 thrilled at the thrilling Mansfield Town 3 Swindon Town 2

Rowan M & John J obviously guessed Southampton would beat Sunderland 4-2

Rukesh J nabbed the form book upsetting PNE 1 Stoke City 2

Matthew M banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt Exeter & Bolton

Julian F quite rightly predicted Norwich’s 5-0 thrashing of Rotherham

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Will Oppomg for his I’m-currently-distracted-by-the-egg-chasing-but-still-able-to-pull-a-plum-like-this inspired, Celtic 4 Livingston 2!

Bet of the Week:

Chris Dixon was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 5 so I asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

“Here are my three selections for BoTW: Fingers-crossed they’ll be dancing on the streets of Hunstanton, Marchwood and Norris Green come Sunday night…”
– Norwich City to beat Rotherham United – over at HT
– Southampton to beat Sunderland – bit of a scare with 10 mins to go, but…
– Liverpool to beat Manchester City – what was Diaz doing??!
Norris Green was a distinctly dance-free streets zone…but it was close to a proper ceilidh!
Unlucky, Christopher.

So, £1.37 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd, bringing it to £13.45 – not bad!

Dave Crisp is at 60th this week….

Crispy, I need your 3 team selection by Friday morning, please!

What a shame we just missed out on Cheltenham…

Table News:

Reverence:

Roshan Thepa remains top, 4 points ahead of Simon B who, in turn, is five correct scores ahead of Louis W in third…

One crashed the Top Ten!

Darklands:

Neil Critchlow drops to the bottom, six points behind Thomas S who, in turn, is eighteen points adrift of Rukesh K

Sometimes Always:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 37 places is Sam Arora – honourable mentions go to Julian F (+25), Rich L (+28), Charlie H (+30), Paul C (+25), and Francesca F (+20).

Upside Down:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 23 places is Pawan GC – dishonourable mentions go to Jamie S (-17), Neil M (-17), Eddie O (-20), Justin C (-20), Jack B (-18), and Patricia F (-17). Happy birthday Mum!
