Football season started this weekend and…

…Predict-A-Score will be back in your life at the end of September!

Bet you can’t wait eh? Well, start saving your pennies cos the obligatory 4,378 reminders will be winging their way over to you soon but until then, have a go on this…

Dream Team 2015-2016

“Stop enjoying the reality of the Ashes and Froome dominating the Tour de France, it’s time to start dreaming! Yes that’s right, the 2015-2016 is only a few weeks away. So, set yourself some time aside before August 8th (the entry deadline) to come up with the killer combination for 2015-2016. The format is the same but it doesn’t get any easier I’m afraid!

It’s still only £5 per entry so if you’re struggling to narrow your options down, you can always have 2 (or more) goes! And as usual, you are actively encouraged to pass it around to friends, family, work colleagues and pretty much anyone else – the more the merrier!

Oh yeah, before I go, I finally got around to do some analysis of the 2014-2015 season and it makes very interesting reading. James Wood won the overall competition with a seemingly impressive total of 3701 points. However, there were an incredible 192,784 combinations that would have beaten James! Some of which cost as little as £70,000 – the blindingly obvious choice of Stoke, Crystal Palace, WBA, Watford, Bournemouth, Brentford, Rochdale, Gillingham, Rochdale and Wycombe would have cost you £70K, netted you 3757 points, and won you £160! But the best possible combination would have been home and hosed before Easter, finishing with a massive 4583 points. That elusive combination? No Chelsea. No City. Not even Arsenal. The best possible combination of teams for the 2014-2015 season would have been Stoke, Swansea, Crystal Palace, Watford, Bournemouth, Brentford, Bristol City, MK Dons, Wycombe and Exeter. Food for thought …

At the other end of the table, Carole Williams finished bottom with 1591 points but I hope that this next paragraph will make her feel a bit better. Carole’s selection was actually only the 594,759th worst combination (and that is just for the combinations costing the full £100K!). Yes, that’s right, there were nearly 6 hundred thousand worse combinations than Carole’s. Or to put it another way, well over half a million! And what was the lowest of the low? It reads like a who’s who of underachievers and these clubs featured prominently in the managerial sacking speculation (and actuality) stakes for pretty much the entire season. Netting a pathetic total of 620 points were … Newcastle, Aston Villa, QPR, Wigan, Millwall, Blackpool, Crewe, Yeovil, Tranmere and Hartlepool.

Right, that’s it from me for now, time to get those football brains ticking over again …” – Pete Britton

If you want to get involved (and believe me you do!) email Pete ([email protected]) and ask him for an entry form!

Cheers,

Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’15 Final Table round up

Final Table News:

“The Special One”: He started in the Top Ten (7th), climbed to 3rd, then went top for the rest of the season (bar a dip to 2nd in Week 8!) AND reached the PAS CL Quarter Finals. At one point Tony B’s points record for a season looked in danger! You really can say he’s consistent & will clearly be loved by “The Syndicate” this summer…

Hats off & congrats to Jason Morris 369 (54) – you’re a winner!

Jason ended on a 15 point lead over, ahem, our very own Dan Hogwood in second place, who I reckon just couldn’t bring himself (cough) to actually go on and win it (I mean, how would it look??!) who in turn finished 11 points ahead of Simon Buxton in third place. He now has a Champions League Final against his son Jack to look forward too. A fine season sir…

Just nine points further behind, Ian Pratt defied all previous form to finish in fourth spot with relative newcomer Peter Morley scooping 5th place just ahead of old skooler Ryan Graves in 6th who was a further 2 points behind.

Jack Buxton finished in seventh (Spring & The Buxtons seem made for each other!) 2 points above prolific Top Tenner Dan Pelgrom in eighth.

Two points behind, finishing ninth, was Winter ’14 winner Stephen Mullan (who is among an ever growing elite group of new-boys lapping up the rich pickings – come on old guard, lets start to claw some of our money back!) and a further 2 points back James Lee landed in 10th place – which is just lovely along with his PAS Cup Final appearance on his debut in this competition (speaking of which, James leapfrogged his Cup Final opponent Ben H courtesy of a single point! An omen?), netting the last of the “big prizes”…

“The Bibs & Cones One”: You have to say even our champion couldn’t match the consistency level of my daughter Francesca Fernandez 217 (20) who takes the wooden spoon for the second season in a row! Saying that, I finished 50th (which is apt) and will be taking my place on the same naughty step…

Mark J B & Graham E made gallant efforts over the last few weeks to save li’l Frankie’s blushes but to no avail – the question now is, do I “update” the current spoon? Or buy another one?  Shocker!

Spot Prizers: OK, you have finished on these positions and you HAVE won those prizes!

Ben Hogwood on 11th, Gareth Morgan on 12th, Kate Hopper on 17th, Richard Hirst on 21st, Jamie Sellers on 25th, Charlie Harris on 33rd, Predictz on 34th, Neil Osborne on 38th, Darren Banham on 40th, Stephen Street on 45th, Paul Henshaw on 49th, Danny Ashworth on 57th, Stuart Fitzsimon on 61st, Steve Meaton on 65th, Vim Gupta on 67th, Gary Blackburne on 77th & Mark J Brown on 80th.

click here to view the full table & to see how much you won!

*** all prize money will be winging its way over this weekend – promise! ***

And Another Thing: The other little bits…

Darren Banham picked up an additional £15 for getting the Best Weekly Score of the Season –  58(9)

Stuart Fitzsimon picked up £10 for getting the Best Correct Score of the Season – Scotland 6 Gibraltar 1.

Plaudits

Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to enter, we couldn’t do it without you!

And a final big thank you to Dave N & Dan H for providing all the behind the scenes techky stuff to enable another great (relatively glitch free!) season…

Cheers,
Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’15 Week 13 round up

Know What You Know”: You can tell it’s the end of the season – people put down crazy scores, crazy scores come in. Mr 2-0 is oversubscribed as people “forget” or drift off into the spring sunshine (well, maybe not in MCR). Form goes out the window & “coupon busters” are celebrated by bookies across the country. So how do you combat this perennial problem? Don’t ask me, I got less than Mr 2-0 this week! Maybe Will Oppong 36 (4) can tell us how  he came up on the blindside to slip the last  £20 from Ryan G’s hands? My money’s on the fact he knew his beloved Gooners would concede to Hull and earn him 5 valuable points…

Misfit”: It’s the end of the season, there are crazy scores expected and the sun is supposed to be out. Why bother doing your scores? Mark J Brown 8 (0) is wondering just that…

Correct Score of the Week: Is it me or are the scores just mental… most popular score was Brentford’s 3-0 win over Wigan  23 of youse got that!

20(!) got the 1-3 at The KC and four got the 3-0 between Partick & St Mirren.

James C / Neil C / Dave N got the 0-0 in Leeds and Ryan G & Sam A got the dramarama three-nil between Leicester & Newcastle.

Will O & Neil T have got Bradley J to thank for the 10 points at Norwich

Dave N got the Spurs 0 City 1.

Ben McK got Sunderland’s 2 – 1 win over Southampton. Oh, the irony…

Michelle F knew that party pooping Sheff Wed would draw with Watford.

Scott H got champions Bournemouth’s fine win over Charlton.

Gareth M pulled out a plum with Villa’s essential 3-2 win over Everton

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Matt Worsfold for his wild punt on Celtic 5 Dundee 0.  You’re wild Matt, wild…

Bet of the Week: This week’s 75p trixie went as follows –

Votes: 16 (!)

3 away win selections: Arsenal 31% / Burton 23% / Man City 17%

Prize Slot: 11th

Returns: £12.72. Whoo-hoo! A fine end to the season with a full house trixie! So, £17.01 up for grabs now on this slot then for that lucky lucky person!

To be fair it’s been pretty disastrous yet again so we’re going into a summer huddle to come up with something that’ll be a bit more lucrative for us all…

Table News:

Free”: Ryan Graves, James Lee & Stephen Mullan crash the Top Ten – Will Oppong is the highest climber (+15) along with Sam A (+9) just ahead of Kate H & Dave N (+7) & then Jamie S, Michelle & Simon Lindq (+6)……

Red Lights”: Sam Craig & Clare Templeton fall furthest (-9) just in front of Stephen S & Darren Banham (-8), then Tony M (-7) with Tony B, Ben McK & Steve M (-6) following suit……

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’15 Week 12 round up

Instinction”: It’s bad enough watching a 0-0, realising your team is only *just* not good enough to win a big trophy and then having to witness Theo Walcott “partaking” in the action. It’s double bad enough when it transpires that Jose’s bus aided & abetted a sibling to a weekly win! Julian Fernandez 37 (7) has the Chelsea shut out to thank for his 1 correct score advantage over Alex T who himself was preparing to celebrate edging out Gareth M on 36 points. Football eh?!

The Freeze”: Good news! Remember our Polish friend who fluked a weekly win the other week? Well he’s got a full time job! At least I think he has cos it appears he hasn’t got time to study the form any more. Rowan Marriott 9 (0) can console himself with the thought that zero hours is now a thing of the past…

Correct Score of the Week: Sometimes I wonder if it’s really all worth it… most popular score was Ipswich’s 2-1 win over Forest – 24 of youse got that!

12 sniffed out the Desmond in West Yorkshire & twelve more did similar in Hampshire.

11 lapped up Burton’s 3-1 win over Northampton

6 got the hammering meted out to Bolton by The Cherries

5 got Dundee Utd 0 Celtic 3 in their 109th meeting of the season

4 pulled out a plum with City’s last gasp 3-2 win over Villa

Ben H, Jazz S & Nick H got Cardiff’s fine win over Blackpool.

Julian F & Peter M knew that Arsenal would draw with Chelsea 0-0.

Jon T got the The Hoops stalemate with The ‘Ammers.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Mark J Brown for his four-on-the-bounce inspired, Everton 3 Man Utd 0.

Bet of the Week: This week’s 75p trixie went as follows –

Votes: 27

3 home win selections: QPR 28% / Southampton 20% / Arsenal 15%

Prize Slot: 65th

Returns: £0. £3.00 up for grabs at the end of the season on this slot then for that lucky lucky person!

Don’t forget to cast your vote for the last time this season but make sure you do it by 10am on Saturday!

Table News:

Chant No 1“: Jason Morris stays at the top now only 9 points ahead of Dan H, who in turn is now 12 points away from Simon B in third

Tony M crashes the Top Ten…

Highly Strung“: Francesca Fernandez really is a step closer to realising her dream of back-to-back wooden spoons by remaining bottom five points adrift of Graham E who is 4 points behind Mark J B.

click here to view the full table

Lifeline“: Highest climbers this week, up a whopping 17 places are Julian Fernandez & Alex Taylor – honourable mentions go to Simon L (+11), Neil O (+11) & Neil M (+13)

Paint Me Down“: Falling furthest again this week, down a whopping 15 places is Olly Osmond – dishonourable mentions go to Predictz (-8), Ben McK (-9), Pab (-8) & Paul C (-9).

PAS Champions League 2014/15: Semi Final 2nd leg games concluded the ties …

Well lookee what we got here…

Simon Buxton 51 (6) – 47 (6) Jamie Sellers [2nd leg result 25 (2) – 20 (2)]

Tony Morris 60 (7) – 60 (9) Jack Buxton [2nd leg result 26 (2) – 18 (2)]

The Buxtons have made it a family affair in the Final thanks to an inspired Simon B Bournemouth correct score joker and Jack B holding off a spirited Tony M fightback virtue of just TWO correct scores! Blimey!

Congrats to our finalists – losers, you have been remunerated accordingly!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’15 Week 11 round up

X Marks The Spot”: If you’re at rock bottom then there really is only one way to go (are you reading this Frankie?!) and go he certainly did this week! Martin Stafford 37 (7) was one of only 3 people to hit 30 points or more (even I got 27 points!) in a very tight week of wheat & chaff sorting. No doubt making time to study scores whilst in Lancaster bus depots or sitting idly at bus stops while your passengers fume has paid rich dividends in the form of £20 – just the ticket Martin!

Wake Up Soon”: As mentioned it was pretty tightly packed score-wise this week but you still didn’t want to be lagging behind on a single figure return (even Frankie got 10 points!). So, Darren Banham, Neil Osborne & Simon Lindsay 9 (0), can you do a “Martin S” next week?! Well, you’d better…..

Correct Score of the Week: Good work people… most popular score was Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Ipswich – 18 of us got that!

8 sniffed out the upset of Celtic & five more did similar in regard to Liverpool.

Stuart F & Jack B lapped up the other semi-final shock! In Scotland.

Martin S & Matt W got the hammering meted out to Newcastle on their own ground. By Spurs!

Rob C & Debbie L got Bristol City 0 Coventry City 0 (!)

Martin S (again) pulled out a plum with Arsenal’s ineptness against Reading

Shashi A got Boro’s fine win over Norwich.

Jamie T knew that Doncaster would draw with Fleetwood 0-0.

Scott H nailed Brentford 2 Bolton 2

Kate H got the Bluebirds stalemate with The Lions – grrrr!

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Sam Arora for his this-would-be-the-best-in-any-other-season inspired, Blackburn 3 Nottm Forest 3.

Bet of the Week: This week’s 75p trixie went as follows –

Votes: 27

3 draw selections: Blackburn-Forest 23% / Stoke-Southampton 22% / Chelsea-Man Utd 21%

Prize Slot: 11th

Returns: £0. £4.19 up for grabs at the end of the season on this slot then for that lucky lucky person!

Don’t forget to cast your vote every week but make sure you do it by 10am on Saturday!

I’ll Start Believing“: Jason Morris stays at the top  16 points ahead of Dan H, who in turn is TIED with Simon B in third (wow!)

Dan P crashes the Top Ten…

Here To There“: Highest climbers this week, up a whopping 12 places are Kate Hopper, Scott Harrison & Clare Templeton – honourable mentions go to Dan P (+10), Gareth M (+10), Neil T (+10), Matt W (+11) & Yours Truly (+11)

Retreat“: Falling furthest again this week, down a whopping 14 places is Darren Banham – dishonourable mentions go to Nick H (-8), Howard T (-8), Gary B (-8) & James C (-9).

James Lee    19 (2) – 10 (0)  Nick Hogwood

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’15 Week 10 round up

The Sun Rising”: Proper good scrap for top spot this week with a whole host of contenders bunching in & around the high thirties/early forties mark. Ryan G edged away from the pack but unfortunatley for him his gamble on Man Utd & Ross County failing to win left the door open for Peter Morley 47 (10) to slip past and nab the weekly £20.

Well done Pierre, first person for a long long time (*I haven’t checked*) to land double figure correct scores in one week!

Wake Up Soon”: Eeeewww! Not a good week to take your eye off the ball when everyone else is lording it up their fancy “over 20 points at least” tally. Mark J Brown 10 (1) probably didn’t even see the ball in the first place, but he has just got engaged so you can kinda understand it.

Hmmmmm…she’ll be telling him he doesn’t even like football next, throwing out his Everton jim-jams and taking away his online betting account – beware Markus!

Correct Score of the Week: You really were “at” the bread n butter scores this week… most popular score was West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Stoke – 28 of us got that!

Moi, Sam C & Julian F got the hammering meted out to St Mirren on their own ground.

Paul C & Kate H got Reading 0 Blackburn 0.

Dan R & Ben McK pulled out a plum with Ipswich’s 3-2 over Blackpool

Julian F (again!) got Cardiff’s fine win over Leeds.

Clare T knew that Arsenal would beat Burnley by a solitary goal

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Carter (again!) for his Tim’s-revenge inspired, Spurs 0 Aston Villa 1.

Bet of the Week: This week’s 75p trixie went as follows –

Well, I for one learned something this weekend – you can’t see/access the BotW on tablet or mobile! Well, I couldn’t…

So, no bet was placed (and for the record Wolves let you down for a fine treble!) & the £3 goes onto the slot 33rd – full service resumed this weekend! Promise!

Don’t forget to cast your vote every week but make sure you do it by 10am on Saturday!

Table News:

Sweet Harmony“: Jason Morris climbs maintains the summit slot 15 points ahead of Dan H, who in turn is one correct score in front of Simon B in third.

The fine Top 3 scrap looks like it will go to the wire but Ian P is coming up on the rails…

Jason M has hit the 300 point mark with 3 rounds to go – will Tony B’s seemingly insurmountable record points tally actually fall this season??!

Peter M, Jack B & Ryan G crash the Top Ten…

Time After Time“: Martin Stafford remains stuck to the bottom one point adrift of Frankie F who is 3 points behind Savan A.

click here to view the full table

Up, Up and Away“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 15 places is Julian Fernandez – honourable mentions go to Sam A (+14), Howard T (+14), Jazz S (+14), Peter M (+13), Ryan G (+13), Steve M (+12) & Sam C (+12)

You’ve Got Me Thinking“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 13 places is Darren Banham – dishonourable mentions go to Charlie H (-11), Anders H (-10), Will O (-10) & Clare T (-10).

PAS Champions League 2014/15:  Semi Final 1st leg games kicked off …

We had a thriller down in Brighton and a famous double seems that little bit more out of reach now…

Jamie Sellers 27 (4) – 26 (4) Simon Buxton

Jack Buxton 42 (7) – Tony Morris 34 (5)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’15 Week 9 round up

Love, Reign o’er Me”: You have to admire a Polish lad coming over here taking care of his large family in the countryside, providing for them, sleeping on the floor when the kids need a good kip, running to the shops for provisions, earning a living selling those delicious chocolate covered plums to local newsagents and still finding the time & money to take part in a game involving just British teams. Teams he knows nothing about. Football really is the international language that knows no barriers or borders….

Congrats to Rowan Marriott 37 (7) i’m sure the £20 will come in handy for beetroot, swaddling & vodka mate – twoje zdrowie!

Won’t Get Fooled Again”: Meanwhile two people who probably support bank-rolled EPL teams full of galacticos oblivious to the fact that Poland has an actual league, let alone predict the scores in it,  limped home in last place…

Shame on you Pete Britton & Jack Buxton 8 (0)!

Correct Score of the Week: A bit thin in on the ground this week… most popular score was Birmingham’s 2-1 win over Rotherham – 22 of youse got that!

17 got the hammering meted out to Villa at OT.

14 got Derby 2 Watford 2.

Six pulled out a plum with Palace’s shocking of Man City!

Ben McK & Matt W got Swansea’s fine win over Hull.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Carter for his lets-prime-Malky inspired, Middlesbro 1 Wigan 0.

Bet of the Week: This week’s 75p trixie went as follows –

Votes: 37

3 home win selections: Chelsea 32% / Bolton 29% / Arsenal 22%

Prize Slot: 11th

Returns: £2.10. Lucky 11th strikes again but that elusive treble evades us again…

Don’t forget to cast your vote every week but make sure you do it by 10am on Saturday!

PAS Champions League 2015/16: In order to be invited to enter the PAS CL Group Stages 2015 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is the delightful …Clare Templeton!

And Another Thing:  We’ve had a few players experiencing a few issues in the last two weeks. The horror!

So as a safety net can you please do the following NEXT time you open the predictions page to input scores

when using a PC/Laptop

“Ctrl + F5”

or Mac/Apple

“Apple + R” or “Command + R”

You’ll then notice the team whose score you are inputting will now be highlighted in bold just so know exactly what team you are inputting scores for! Genius I say…

And, although we employ plenty of minions at PAS Towers we’re not as all-seeing as we’d like to be yet, so if you do spot a mistake, anomaly or glitch etc. please DO shout up – don’t be shy!

Did you know you can email your scores to yourself every week?

Well you can! And if that appeals to your inner pedant (like me!) then just click the “Email” button at the top of the predictions page! Job done.

That’s it for this week – oh, follow us on @PabsPAS if only to see those late scores rolling in every week. you know, the ones that make you squeal or shriek in equal measure!

And remember to add #pabpas to see your tweet on the site – actually some away game pics would be good this season. Or some pics of away fans. Or home fans. Or just the match. Or players you’ve met. Anything footy related to be honest…

Cheers,

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’15 Week 8 round up

I Want To Dance”: Fifty. That’s, ahem, a big number innit (more about that on a later date..). You’d think securing over a half century of points would get you a weekly prize though. Well, you would. I would. Does Tony M? Nope. How about Jon T? Uh-uh. Nah, it was always gonna take a big number to win an international week and those old skoolers amongst us always shudder at the mere mention (isn’t funny how you always miss by just that *one* goal?). So, new boy Darren Banham 59 (8) unlocked the £20 this week no doubt justifying his decision to join our fold to boot! Congrats Darren, welcome to PAS – go tell your friends how easy it is to win money in our beautiful game…

Hot Water”: Being a disciple of Mr 2-0 is always a dangerous liaison and so it proved for 8 of you this week. International week! How many 2-0s did you really think there would be??! Anyway, you can feel a bit better about that blunder cos Josh Hirst & Dave Crisp 15 (0) did even worse than you!

Correct Score of the Week: … most popular score was Slovakia’s 3-0 win over little ol’ Luxembourg – 22 of youse got that!

21 got Andorra 0 – 3 Bosnia

20 got the hammering meted out to Lithuania at Wem-ber-lee.

17 got the very predictable 3-0 between Switzerland & Estonia.

4 got Hungary 0 Greece 0 and four got the five-nil in Brussels.

Four more pulled out a plum with Slovenia’s shellacking of San Marino!

Stuart F/Simon Lindq/Mark S  got Kazakhstan 0 Iceland 3 and Debbie L & James C got the bloomin’ 1-1 draw in Prague that brought down my 14 team acca – arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhh!!! Sorry.

Ben McK & Darren B got Austris’s fine win over Liechtenstein.

Debbie L (again) somehow managed to pull out Romania 1 Faroe Islands 0.

Andy F nailed Holland’s 1-1 against Turkey.

Graham E surpassed himself with the two-two between Bulgaria & Italy

However, this week’s best correct score, and new best correct score of the season, goes to Stuart Fitzsimon for his I-knew-they’d-score inspired, Scotland 6 Gibraltar 1.

Bet of the Week: This week’s 75p trixie went as follows –

Votes: 33

3 matches with over 4 goals selections: Slovenia v San Marino 23% / Georgia v Germany 21% / Scotland v Gibraltar 19%

Prize Slot: 65th

Returns: £3. I won’t bore you with the details but between me missing a deadline & finding a bookie actually offering odds this didn’t happen – £3 in the pot it is then!

Don’t forget to cast your vote every week but make sure you do it by 10am on Saturday!

Table News:

Seasoned Sun“: Simon Buxton climbs 1 place to the summit 4 points ahead of Jason M, who in turn is three correct scores in front of Dan H in third.

Darren B & Mark S crash the Top Ten…

Vast Space“: Martin Stafford drops 2 places to the bottom five points adrift of Steve M who is 1 point behind Neil C.

Let’s Grow“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 35 places is Darren Banham – honourable mentions go to Tony M (+30), Jon T (+32) & Simon Lindq (+21).

Grey Area“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 25 places is Stephen Peaston – dishonourable mentions go to Neil T (-15), Michelle F (-23), Dan R (-17) & Josh H (-16).

PAS Champions League 2014/15:  Quarter Final 2nd leg games concluded the ties …

We had – well, see for yourself, here are scores!

Neil Meredith 41 (3) – 72 (3) Simon Buxton (2nd leg result 25 (2) – 36 (3) )

Jack Buxton 56 (6) – 44 (3) Gareth Morgan (2nd leg result 29 (3) – 22 (2) )

Tony Morris 69 (9) – 66 (8) Alex Rossi (2nd leg result 52 (8) – 44 (6) )

Jason Morris 54 (5) – 66 (7) Jamie Sellers (2nd leg result 30 (3) – 40 (4) )

The Buxtons are doing as the Hogwoods do in the PAS Cup, the treble dream is over for Gareth M, Alex R & Tony M fought out a high scoring thriller and Jamie S stopped the Morris’ doing what the Buxtons & the Hogwoods are doing!

Commiserations to our losers, your consolation money will be with you soon…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’15 Week 7 round up

Where It’s At”: You’d think securing EIGHT correct scores in a week would lock down the weekly prize wouldn’t you? Sam C certainly must have thought so & you can have a certain sympathy for her when it dawned that 39 points just wasn’t enough! Australian presence was once again prevalent in the shake up but this time going one better thanks to 2 nine pointers gifting Paul Carter 41 (6) the £20 booty! At last a Pommie victory Down Under – I wonder if this bodes well for the summer…

Loser”: It was all too apparent what kind of day Saturday would turn out once my lift to Newcastle didn’t show & I had to scramble around to get on a train to Toon disrupting my measured, controlled approach to predicting scores in the process. Well, that’s my excuse anyway! 8(0) this week for yours truly even out under-performing my Swedish Gooner friend on 9 points. On his birthday too! Ahh well, if that kind of sacrifice is required to ensure yet another away win & the handsome one bagging more goals, we’ll happily finish bottom if it means we creep up & snatch the League title…

Correct Score of the Week: … most popular score was Wigan’s 3-0 last gasp draw with Bolton – 19 of youse got that!

16 got the hammering meted out to West Brom at the Etihad

7 got Norwich 3 Nottm For 1 and four got the ol’ one-two in L4.

Eddie O & Ian P got Bradford 2 – Fleetwood 2 and Paul C & Neil O got the one-four featuring Tranmere & Burton Albion

Matt W & Peter M got Charlton’s fine win over beaten FA Cup semi finalists Reading.

Ben McK somehow managed to pull out Watford 0 Ipswich 1.

Dan H nailed Brighton’s 0-1 against Blackburn.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Carter for his walkabout inspired, Rotherham Utd 2 Sheff Wed 3.

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’15 Week 6 round up

A Sort Of Homecoming”: It looked like a proper bun fight for top prize going into Sunday with as many as seven contenders for the crown and at one point, we were considering for our first Antipodean weekly winner. Imagine! Strewth. But then Alex Taylor 46 (7) popped up clapping Everton who triptyched him all the way to the bank. £20 Alex – you’ve got Ross B to thank!

Bad”: A new trend appears to be taking root this season. “Let’s see who can get the worst score possible, possibly the worst of all time. It’s probably more difficult than getting over 30 points but i’m gonna give it a damn good go anyway…” Yeah, that trend. This week features Martin Stafford 5 (0) just missing out on equalling Stuart F of yore…
