PAS World Cup – Final round up!

Hola!

Tony Morris (anti South Korea) is the toast of the PAS purists (after all the game IS called “predict-a-score”!) by nailing the final 0-0 to edge past his brother Jason Morris (Germany) by virtue of 4 correct scores to win the PAS World Cup! Jason drew a plum team as they netted him an eye-watering 22 bonus points in total, but with only 6 correct scores to his name, he fell short where it really mattered. Spare a thought too for Neil Templeton (anti Argentina) – he notched up the best haul of correct scores (11) but Argentina’s mean defence shut him out of a title shot…

So the only change was at the top of the tree with the rest of the top eight holding steady to claim their prize money – not even Jamie T (+11) & Kate H (+10) could dislodge them!

At the bottom, Mr 2-0 stayed bottom and secured the wooden spoon (hooray!) with Gary Blackburne (Honduras) and Rob Currin (anti Ivory Coast) just escaping the ignominy of being the worlds worst…the epic battle here endeth..

The final table can be found here

The prize money is also displaying on the table but it can also be found here …I will start to distribute your winnings in full later this week…well done, you lucky lucky things!

My sorry performance will be forgotten along with England’s but I have to say it wasn’t as bad as being Brazil!

The Champions League Group stages ’15/’16 is now the goal as a back to basics grass roots revamp at Casa Fernandez moves into full swing next season…

…however, best correct score of the tournament was Yours Truly for my how-did-he-clear-THAT-off-the-line-in-the-last-minute, Holland 0 Costa Rica 0. The renaissance starts here!

.

Kate H, Jamie T & Tony M got Germany 0 Argentina 0

Seven got Argentina 0 Holland 0

Julian F got Japan 1 Colombia 4

Jon T & Clare T got Belgium 0 USA 0

18 got France 3 Honduras 0 & eleven got Chile 3 Australia .

Seven got Japan 0 Greece 0 & 7 more got Brazil 3 Croatia 1.

Five got Bosnia 3 Iran 1, 5 more Iran 0 Nigeria 0 and four got Australia 0 Spain 3.

Will O, Shashi A & Frankie F got Colombia 3 Greece 0.

Simon Linds & Reda A got USA 2 Portugal 2 (boo!), Paul V & Reda A (again!) got Argentina 3 Nigeria 2 and Steve T & Shashi A (again!) got Cameroon 1 Brazil 4.

Jamie Sellers got Honduras 0 Switzerland 3 and Mark J Brown got Croatia 1 Mexico 3.

That’s it folks – a truly wonderful World Cup is over – congrats to all our winners and thank you all for taking the time out to take part! We couldn’t do it without you! No, really….

Big up Dan & Dave – they are planning some kind of code-geek spa session to recharge their USBs or something so the site will be down for “a bit” but it will be back fresher, brighter, stronger for the PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’14 season in September – i’ll keep you in the loop…

Cheers,

Pab

PAS World Cup Semi Finals round up

Hola!

The latest table can be found here – Jason Morris (Germany) surges to the top on the crest of the Teutonic tsunami that swept the Joga Bonita into oblivion – phew – much to the chagrin of Neil T (anti Argentina) who is now 3 points behind someone with 5 correct scores less than him – “Deutschland über alles” indeed!

And to cap it all, Tony M (anti South Korea) falls to third a further 5 points away with sibling rivalry reaching boiling point with Neil T stuck in the middle knowing his “bonus” points can now only do him harm…mad!

Richard H (France) crashes the Top 8 in eighth but it really looks like our winner will now come from the Top 3.

Mr 2-0 goes down 2 places to the bottom of the table with Sam Arora (anti Mexico) one point above him and Gary Blackburne (Honduras) a further correct score further on. Ladies & gentlemen, the epic battle is going to the wire…

Highest climber is Norman Lee (anti Brazil +17) with special mentions to Vim G, Simon B & Jack B – biggest faller was Tony Bowley (ant Spain -6)…

The prize money is also displaying on the table but it can also be found here

So, we continue into the Final (and 3rd place) – fixtures are up for you to start predicting (first game is 9pm today!).

My sorry performance goes on unabated & now the faint glimmer of hope that was the shard of light emanating from the shiny draw bowls of the Champions League Group stages has been extinguished….woe is me (sob) and I can’t even blame Spain!

Anyway, best correct score of the tournament so far is Yours Truly for my how-did-he-clear-THAT-off-the-line-in-the-last-minute, Holland 0 Costa Rica 0

.

Julian F got Japan 1 Colombia 4

Jon T & Clare T got Belgium 0 USA 0

Seven got Argentina 0 Holland 0

18 got France 3 Honduras 0 & eleven got Chile 3 Australia .

Seven got Japan 0 Greece 0 & 7 more got Brazil 3 Croatia 1.

Five got Bosnia 3 Iran 1, 5 more Iran 0 Nigeria 0 and four got Australia 0 Spain 3.

Will O, Shashi A & Frankie F got Colombia 3 Greece 0.

Simon Linds & Reda A got USA 2 Portugal 2 (boo!), Paul V & Reda A (again!) got Argentina 3 Nigeria 2 and Steve T & Shashi A (again!) got Cameroon 1 Brazil 4.

Jamie Sellers got Honduras 0 Switzerland 3 and Mark J Brown got Croatia 1 Mexico 3.

PAS World Cup Quarter Finals round up

Hola!

The latest table can be found here – Tony Morris (anti South Korea) stays top 2 points ahead Neil T (anti Argentina) and Tony M (Germany) jumps up to third only 4 correct scores away. Dan P (Holland) & Scott H (Costa Rica) crash the Top 8 and will still fancy their chances as we enter into the last 4 games.

Sam Arora (anti Mexico) plummets 3 places to the bottom of the table with Gary Blackburne (Honduras) one correct score above him and Mr 2-0 a further correct score further on. The epic battle continues…

Highest climber is Paul Henshaw (Nigeria +9) with special mentions to Dan P, Felix H, Dave T, Ryan G & Ian P – biggest faller was Mark Fawke (Ghana -7)…

The prize money is also displaying on the table but it can also be found here

So, we continue into the Semi Finals – fixtures are up for you to start predicting (first game is 5pm today!).

My sorry performance improved slightly thanks to Costa Rica’s last ditch defending and Belgium & France did the decent thing and let me down gently. Very gently…

18 got France 3 Honduras 0 & eleven got Chile 3 Australia .

Seven got Japan 0 Greece 0 & 7 more got Brazil 3 Croatia 1.

Five got Bosnia 3 Iran 1, 5 more Iran 0 Nigeria 0 and four got Australia 0 Spain 3.

Will O, Shashi A & Frankie F got Colombia 3 Greece 0.

Simon Linds & Reda A got USA 2 Portugal 2 (boo!), Paul V & Reda A (again!) got Argentina 3 Nigeria 2 and Steve T & Shashi A (again!) got Cameroon 1 Brazil 4.

Jamie Sellers got Honduras 0 Switzerland 3 and Mark J Brown got Croatia 1 Mexico 3.

PAS World Cup Last 16 round up

Hola!

The latest table can be found here – Tony Morris (anti South Korea) jumps up 3 places to lead the way with Neil T (anti Argentina) nudged down to 2nd place and Pete B (anti England) maintaining third. Jamie S (anti USA) & Nick H (Belgium) crash the Top 8 and will still fancy their chances as we enter into the last 8 games.

Rob Currin (anti Ivory Coast) crashes 4 places to the bottom of the table with Gary Blackburne (Honduras) one correct score above him and Mr 2-0 a further correct score further on. An epic battle ahead then…

Highest climber is Rowan Marriott (anti Ecuador +21) with special mentions to Ryan B, Clare T, Ian P & Michelle F – biggest faller was Shashi Arora (anti Iran -13) & Reda Allam (anti Chile -13)

The table is doing as it’s told now (Dan/Dave, take a bow son…) though the England flag isn’t displaying…probably through shame. See, computers know EVERYTHING!

The prize money is also displaying on the table but it can also be found here

So, we continue into the Quarter Finals – fixtures are up for you to start predicting (first game is 5pm today!).

My sorry performance continues (CL miracle please visit me!) and a France – Belgium final is still on though I fear the German machine & the Argie magician might bring that particular pipe dream to a close come Saturday night…

Anyway, best correct score of the tournament so far is still with Julian Fernandez for his I-held-the-mouse-down-too-long-by-mistake, Japan 1 Colombia 4.

Jon T & Clare T got Belgium 0 USA 0

18 got France 3 Honduras 0 & eleven got Chile 3 Australia .

Seven got Japan 0 Greece 0 & 7 more got Brazil 3 Croatia 1.

Five got Bosnia 3 Iran 1, 5 more Iran 0 Nigeria 0 and four got Australia 0 Spain 3.

Will O, Shashi A & Frankie F got Colombia 3 Greece 0.

Simon Linds & Reda A got USA 2 Portugal 2 (boo!), Paul V & Reda A (again!) got Argentina 3 Nigeria 2 and Steve T & Shashi A (again!) got Cameroon 1 Brazil 4.

Jamie Sellers got Honduras 0 Switzerland 3 and Mark J Brown got Croatia 1 Mexico 3.

Cheers,

PAS World Cup Group Stage round up

Hola!

The latest table can be found here – Neil Templeton leads the way with a very impressive 56 points considering he’s only benefitted from 3 “bonus” goals against Argentina (even i’ve earnt more points than that!). It’s close at the top though with the Top 6 all making a case to be the eventual winner and the next 5 not that far away either…

Mr 2-0 is rooted to the bottom (testament to how good this Word Cup has been me thinks!) with Gary Blackburne trying his hardest to wrestle the wooden spoon away for himself…

The table ISN’T displaying as comprehensively as we would like but to be honest it’s only because Dan can’t decipher Dave’s coding! Once Dave is back from sunning himself on a far away beach (no internet!) we’ll have it all singing & dancing as envisaged…ummmm, Dave? Dave? Dave! Please come home!

For now, if you can’t remember what team you’ve got helping you along (or NOT for half of us now – damn you Spain!) click here and it will give you an idea by hovering over the flag – but even this page isn’t displaying properly…grrrr – technology eh?!

The prize money info is here btw…

So, we continue into the Last 16 – fixtures are up for you to start predicting (first game is 5pm today!).

Suffice to say my sorry performance so far has me in the sad, desperate position of predicting the opposite of what I want to happen to protect my on-going bets. Is the faint hope of a France – Belgium final really worth sacrificing a PAS Champions League spot for? Jeez, how did it get to this….

Anyway, best correct score of the tournament so far is with Julian Fernandez for his I-held-the-mouse-down-too-long-by-mistake, Japan 1 Colombia 4.

18 got France 3 Honduras 0 & eleven got Chile 3 Australia .

Seven got Japan 0 Greece 0 & 7 more got Brazil 3 Croatia 1.

Five got Bosnia 3 Iran 1, 5 more Iran 0 Nigeria 0 and four got Australia 0 Spain 3.

Will O, Shashi A & Frankie F got Colombia 3 Greece 0.

Simon Linds & Reda A got USA 2 Portugal 2 (boo!), Paul V & Reda A (again!) got Argentina 3 Nigeria 2 and Steve T & Shashi A (again!) got Cameroon 1 Brazil 4.

Jamie Sellers got Honduras 0 Switzerland 3 and Mark J Brown got Croatia 1 Mexico 3.

Next round up will be with you on Wednesday!

Cheers

PAS World Cup Group Stage Match 2 update

Hola,

Still got ghosts in the machine so here’s another “unofficial” (but a bit more official) update on league standings after Sunday night’s thoroughly miserable 11 o’clock kick off…

Richard Hirst is leading the way – yep, he’s got free-scoring France to thank!

Neil Templeton continues his multi-competition World Cup success here taking 2nd spot – the *true* leader if you took away any bonus points!

Tony Morris & Steve Meaton are revelling in South Korea & Aussie goals against and Scott Harrison is getting a real run for his money courtesy of Costa Rica!

From there on in it’s pretty tight (Mark J Brown sitting on the CL qualification cut off spot) with poor ol’ Mr 2-0 rock bottom with no correct scores to date. Ha!

I promise an official fully comp league table at the end of the week (actually it’ll be my pressie to you on my birthday!) and the “Last 16” fixtures too!

Cheers

Pab

PAS World Cup update

Hola!

Good eh?!! (bar England of course – see what happens when Theo shows his Lewis-Hamilton-like-boat on our pages!!!)

We’re having a few “technical problems” re: the latest league standings (read – Dave’s on a beach & Dan is trying to decipher his coding…) so bear with us campers, worst case scenario is you’ll have to wait til the end of the Group Stages for the first table (unofficial calculations had Neil Templeton blazing a trail at the end of June 17th matches on around 29 points so if you’re struggling on the “teens” like me, you’ll need a good few correct scores to play catch up! Naturally, the “Curse of Pab” has taken care of Spain so I can kiss goodbye to any significant bonus points…)

The prize money can be viewed here – please note £100 has been spirited away to the PAS Champions League 2014/15 pot so there’s even more reason to make sure you finish in the Top 32!

Oh, and we had a few bods (well, my bruvver) being “timed out” on their mobile devices when trying to submit scores. Our advise is DO NOT leave it til literally the deadline as the server clock here may not be in sync with your PC/tablet/phone’s clock and you could miss out! If you give yourself at least 5 minutes before the deadline that will still give you time to view the line-ups etc before committing your predictions…

Now, if I put USA 2 Portugal 1 surely that will mean progression is then a certainty for the Selecao…

Cheers,

Pab

PAS World Cup draw & kick off reminder

Hola!

We’re ready to go! All entry fees are in (thank you!) and the draw has been made for those team goals to earn you points along with the “anti” teams whose goals conceded will do the same job (see below and here for, ahem, the slick “live feed”…)

James C is our lone entrant who braves it all alone with just his predictions to earn him points…hats off sir!

We kick off on Thursday at 9pm so make sure you get your score for that one in on time (don’t leave it til the last minute as the score doors slam shut at 20.59!)

There will be daily reminders (like you need them!) and regular league table updates.

Oh, and don’t forget to vote on who you think will win the World Cup!

Cheers

Pab

PAS Cup & CL Final latest scores & World Cup update

Hola!

PAS Cup Final – only 4 games to go & despite a gallant effort from Dan P in the “Cup Final Proper” scoresheet, Scott H is the Hull position of having it all to lose…

joker: No. of Arsenal red cards (4pts)               joker: Arsenal 1st scorer (0pts)

PAS World Cup

All 64 places have been snapped up (with James C waiting patiently in the wings) but we still have two “Top 32” players yet to confirm their participation (Stephen S & Howard T – are you out there?!). So, if you missed out on a place there’s still hope you may be able to squeeze in. Failing that, you can still play for tenner but you won’t be assisted on your points tally by any goals being scored by a team you’ve drawn (or against a team you’ve been drawn!)

If you’ve paid up already, thankyou – you’re ace! If you haven’t please make it a priority!

The draw for allocated teams will take place on week commencing June 2 – you’ll be able to view it online as it, ahem, happens…
