Cheers,
Pab

Result: LOSE -£7.50

Spring Cup 2009 : Round 2

Oooh it went to the wire in two ties…

highest score:
Pab 39 (6)
highest score without joker:
Pab 39 (6)
lowest score:
Dave Nicklin / Scott Angus 14 (1)
lowest winning score:
Janie Sellers 20 (3)
highest losing score:
Tony Bowley 35 (5)

Only Anders H didn’t take advantage of a “Joker” and out he went…

Tony B must fell doubly gutted as 35 points would win most weeks! Dave C was a minute away from knocking out Ciaran McG but then RVP netted…

Next round is a week before the Ides of March – watch yer back!

Cheers,
Pab.

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 2 – Roundup…

Tony Adams Ooh Ooh!:
The shocking weather contributed to some shocking scores due to the postponements but somehow Jamie Tofeili & Jon Allin 30 (3) managed to buck the trend and get half decent scores! A shared weekly prize then for two players who couldn’t be much further away from each other (Toon & The Ho) – I’m definitely not handing over the cash in person.
Big Phil:
OMG! I thought last week was bad but I think we officially have the worst weekly score ever in 20 years – hang your head in shame just like Eboue – Dave Crisp 4(0)
Correct Score of the Week:
How many 0-0s??! It’s getting to be a joke!
Ten got THE MOST OBVIOUS 0-0 at Wigan, Louise B/Julian F/Gareth M got the “desmond” at the City Ground, young Frankie F struck again with Coventry 2 Wolves 1, Gareth M struck again with Swansea 3 Ipswich 0 – Sam A got 8 points from Reading 0 PNE 0, Jon A got eight at Tranmere and Jamie T got his eight at Spurs (yuck!). However, best correct score of the week and new correct score of the season is now in the hands of Jon Allin for his WBA 2 Newcastle Utd 3.
Bet of the Week:
As expected we kick off the season £5 down as Sean P’s little acca fell away – we look to a double pronged attack from Jon A and Jamie T to get us in the black at this early stage.
Other Stuff:
It’s PAS Cup week next week so only those who progressed from round one need to fill in and send back a scoresheet – full draw and scoresheet to follow.
And Another Thing:
let’s get all the money in eh?!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 1 – Roundup…

In Like Flynn:
He’s part of that sinister syndicate that devolved last season to come and take our money in a five pronged attack (they did!). Sean Peers 46 (8) gets the 20 year anniversary season off to a flyer and takes the first £20 out of our collective pocket – who will stop this relentless march? Jazz? Come back mate, all is forgiven…
Doing The Dino:
He’s a baby! He’s a baby! Actually he isn’t, he just works with them… Will Oppong 5(0) managed to act like his clientele and record one of the lowest scores ever to get the 20 year season off to non-flyer!
Correct Score of the Week:
How many 0-0s??! A splendid week for good guesses – Eleven got THE MOST OBVIOUS 0-0 at Boro, five got the 3-1 at Molineux, 4 got the 2-2 at Hull (impressive bridge that Humber!), Jason M/Olly O/Matt W got poor Stoke’s 1-0 win over rich Citeh, Julian F & Jon A got Wigan’s charmed 0-0 at Villa, Sean P & Jason M (see! They’re working together I tell you!!) got QPR 0 Reading 0, Jon T got the 8 points at PNE, Clare T got 8 points from Ipswich and Jamie S got 8 points from the drivel served up at Ashburton Grove. Oh, and Olly O got Fulham 3 Pompey 1. However, best correct score of the week goes to my clever little girl! Francesca Fernandez with Inverness 0 Celtic 0 (Will, she’s 6 months old and managed to get more points in one game that all your 30!)
Bet of the Week:
Well we didn’t lose… Probably cos there was no bet – yeah, that’ll be it… First up will be Sean P – furnish us with some winnings please Sean!
Table News:
See Week 1 table
Other Stuff:
If you haven’t paid up yet – please do! It’s getting boring…
And Another Thing:
The annual PAS Poll is now live on the webpage – have a peek yourself and spread the news!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 2 BotW

Bet of the Week comes from Sean Peers…

Bon chance.
Pab

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 1 – Update…

Dear all,

Week 1 result and table will be with you tomorrow – promise!

Please find attached Week 2 scoresheet – back to me by Saturday “Blondie” time (that’s 11.59 kids…)

I’m in Edinburgh on Friday so the last “reminder” will go out tomorrow night – I’ll be back to normal service in time for PAS Cup 2nd round – fear not, I know how you love your inbox being filled with hassling emails…

Couple of things to note:

  • please try and send your scores on a Word doc where possible – it’s a right pain in any other format!
  • there are a few outstanding payments as usual – I’ll need the actual payment or definite confirmation you are actually playing by next Monday otherwise I’ll have to drop you from the game (it’s holding up the prize money slots for one thing…)

Thanks for your patience – did you all get the PAS Poll email? I think it got through!

Cheers,
Pab

Spring Cup 2009 : Round 1 Results

We’re off! And I got through – yay! (sorry Matt!)

Highest score:
Pab 34 (5)
Highest score without joker:
Pab / Danny Ashworth 33 (5)
Lowest score:
Clare Templeton 14 (0)
Lowest winning score:
Ciaran McGoldrick 19 (2)
Highest losing score:
Neil Templeton 33(4)

Of the 3 players that decided not/forgot to play a joker, only Dave N got through

Neil T has every right to feel gutted and Clare T will just feel, well, gutted!

Really good standard as one correct score worth of points could have changed ties btwn Danny A v Neil T / Pab v Matt G / Lisa G v Mark S / Jon A v Dave C / Jamie S v Nick H / Jason M v Scott A / Dave N v Richard L / Julian F v Ciaran McG

Next round is on Valentines weekend – it could be bloody…

Cheers,
Pab.

L13 Winter 2008 : Week 13 Roundup

Congrats to Richard Hirst – Lucky 13 Winter 2008 champion! Richard came in 8 points clear and now has the 2nd greatest winning score ever to add into the Hall of Fame. A fine win Tricky, I hope your “consortium” are proud of you!

Jon Allin made a late charge and managed to finish a very respectable 2nd winning £205.00 to boot! Long time leader Jason Morris should be happy with his third place finish, Jamie Sellers makes his highest finish for years in 4th and bruv-in-law Danny Ashworth made £100 this season by finishing 5th.

Mark Seels was the third part of the “consortium” to get a Top Ten finish in 6th (they’re trying to take over kids!) and Greg Edwards surely has me to thank for finishing 7th (I gotcha Greggy!) – Louise Briggs finished “Top Girl” in 8th and joins boyf Danny in the Top Ten (happy house!). Jazz Sian adds to his astounding pile of PAS cash in 9th and brand new boys Rob Hathorn & Sean Peers couldn’t be split in 10th so share the cash and the promos (no fighting over the Cage The Elephant CDs boys!)

Well done to all – it was a very high standard this year – long may it continue!

Spot Prizers:
  • 12th – happy nuptials continue for Neil Templeton
  • 17th – looks like missing that week (12) has helped John McSherry
  • 27th – Dennis McDowell decided to leave most of it to Mr 2-0 and it paid off!
  • 31st – my old mucker Dave Crisp will be over the moon x2 cos all he wanted for Christmas was Cup place!
  • 33rd – welcome home from Japan Wayne Connolly you’re not quite a world champion but you’re a winner!
  • 42nd – I’m sure PAS CEO Dave Nicklin will plough his winnings back into our R&D funds?
  • 52nd – some cheer for Spurs fan and original original PASer John Williamson
  • 57th – our very own “security” Howard Thomas recoups!
  • 65th – the “big one” for the “losers”…Mark Fawke will no doubt be treating his internet dates to at least an egg nog this Christmas
  • 72nd – oh the similarities! near the bottom and money to spend – Matt Davies will probably make a better fist of it than Sparky though
Cup 2009:
to qualify for invitation to the PAS Cup 2009 you will have to have finished above Jamie Tofeili – let the taunting of Jon begin!
The Wooden Spoon:
Danielle Fleming, my little niece! Don’t think I’ll forget to hand this over in the New Year – you spanner!
Other Stuff:
All monies will be paid very soon – I will hold back next year’s entry fee unless you want opt out – let me know!
And Another Thing:
The annual PAS Poll is with you – loads of entries sent back – muchos gracias! If you haven’t already, you’ve got a day!

Thanks for taking part this season – a pleasure as always (although winning some money makes it all the sweeter!) – if haven’t made the Cup, please come back in September – I’ll be in touch!

Merry Christmas!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2008 : Week 13 Result

Hallelujah (FACT 260):
He enjoyed the thought of spending money on a Ho so much, he decided to win some more! Jon Allin 39 (6) gets another £20 to add to his considerable money haul this season…
Hallelujah (88697446252):
Ahhhhh leave her alone, she’s only 5 months old! Frankie Fernandez 10 (0) returns to form after punching above her weight for 12 weeks…
Correct Score of the Week:
Thirteen got Celtic, four got the 2-2 at Bramall Lane, Richard H & John McS got Reading’s 1-3 at Birmingham, Michael G & Ciaran McG got the Coventry v Ipswich result, Dave T & Will O got Aberdeen’s romp at Inverness, Karl C(!) & Jamie S got West Brom’s win over Man City and Matt G had a great shout with QPR 3 PNE 2…but, Jon Allin capped a fine week and season by claiming the Best Correct Score of the Season with his Hull City 1 Sunderland 4 (bet you’re loving the Lord of Frodsham eh?!)
Bet of the Week:
One thing Jon A couldn’t do though was pick us some winners! We finish the season £18.10 down – not bad considering we only had two winners I spose – ahh well roll on 2009…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2008 : Week 13 Update…

One game to go on the last week of PAS Winter 2008..,

Rob Hathorn needs a 0-2 to win the week – any other score and Jon Allin will get his 2nd win of the season back to back stylee (and he’s got a real contender for Correct Score of the Season too… yeah, I hate him as well!)

Loads of poll forms back already (cheers for that) so if you haven’t already, get involved!

Cheers,
Pab
