Spring 2007 : Cup Replay & L13 Week 4 Roundup

Nu Rave :
Up one place with a 4 point lead is Ben Alder but Dave N and Neil T are on his shoulder…
(Un)Happy Hardcore :

Down two places to 42nd goes Scott Aslett but only one point away from Dave McS – “living it up, living it up” he ain’t..
Progessive House :
Highest climber this week is Ben H (+12) to 11th – props to Dave N (+8), Richard L / Dan R (+5) and Matt G (+7)
Downbeat :
Furthest faller this week is Julian F (-12) to 29th – disses to Neil B / Steve T (-5), Gary B (-7) and Wayne C (-6)
Close But A Cigar! :
Down 3 places to 8th goes Greg E
Spotters :
Ben H (+12) on 11th, John W (-3) on 23rd, Michelle F (-2) on 32nd and Ben McK (no change) on 39th.
TC :
Cries for a “stewards!” will be ringing round the league as Dave Nicklin 40 (6) just nudged past Ben H to claim this week’s £20 prize. Remember, it’s Dave who invented the “score marking” matrix ; ) Dave is the 2nd Geordie to win a weekly and will no doubt spend it in Mrs Greggs near Fenwicks…
Rob Hulse’s Chinese Cat :
It’s a long way back from Oz, and he probably wishes he’d stayed there now – Scott Aslett 13 (1) is probably bbqing his scoresheet as we speak.
Correct Score of the Week:
Few and far between – Lisa G, Matt W and Dave N got the big Sheff Wed 3-2 and Clare N got Everton’s0-3. This weeks accolade goes to Neil T for his Liverpool 4 Sheff Utd 0….
Bet Of The Week:
…and what a shame he didn’t lump the fiver on that score cos his 4-fold fell when W Ham capitulated at Charlton. We are now down a score and need Dave Nicklin to pull out a similar plum to last year when he won us around £80!
PAS Cup 2nd Round Replay:
Dan Rayner (joker: Hibs 2pts) eases past Dave McSherry and into the Quarter Finals…
Ties to be played on weekend 10/11th March 2007.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 4 – BotW

Currently in Elgin City-esque form, our “tipsters” have put us in a position where we’re £15 down – next up is Neil “templegate” Templeton…

I will go for a fiver on a quad accumulator: United, Liverpool, Everton & West Ham. Sky bet pays £60 – odd

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£20.

Spring Cup 2007 – QF Draw

  • Dave McSherry (18)/ Dan Rayner (5) v Pam Riding (16)
  • Mark J Brown (36) v Gary Blackburne (34)
  • Steve Tagger (1) v MattWorsfold (17)
  • Jamie Sellers (6) v Karl Chartres (13)

(number) = finished in Lucky 13 Winter 2006

Pam R will be hoping Dave McS or Dan R decides to send out Mr 2-0 again.

Someone from outside the top flight will be repping in the semi finals as Mark J B and Gary B drew each other – ahhhh the romance of the Cup!

The ruthless behemoth that is Steve T got another home tie a la Chelski.

“Joker” specialist Jamie S will have nu-rave dad Karl C quaking if he pulls out another double figure plum in this round.

Remember, from here on in everyone wins some money, which quite frankly, makes me wanna puke….

Cheers,
Pab

Spring Cup 2007 – Round 2 Replay

Dan R and Dave McS you’re replaying your cup tie – Dan, you’ve now got “home” advantage and a “Joker” to play.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 3 Roundup

Leader of the Pack :
Vrooom! Vrooom! Neil Templeton (+8) moves 1 point ahead of Week 1 winner Ben A and 5 ahead of Simon L in third.
Flatpack :
Already 53 points off top spot is Donna Edmead (non mover) who is now just 1 point from Dave McS and 2 from Scott A at the bottom Packed Up : Highest climber, after his shocker last week, is Julian F (+14) to 17th – others of note are the leader (see above), Neil B (+7) on 11th, Will O (+9) on 19th and Lisa G (+11) on 21st.
Packed In :
Where one brother leads the other will follow – Danny Ashworth (-14) slips down to 29th – shamed faces also for Neil M / Week 2 winner Stephen P (-8) on 13th/14th respectively, Richard L (-9) on 25th, Michelle F (-7) on 30th and Mr 2-0 (-10) on 35th – good!
Close But A Cigar! :
Yep, the Cuban box provides once again – Mark G (+4) occupies 8th spot this week.
Spotters :
Neil B (+7) on 11th, Ben H (+1) on 23rd, El Presidente (+4 – I’m coming to getcha!) on 32nd and Ben McK (-1) on 39th.
North American Scum :
They’ll be dancing on the streets of East Belfast (well, one person, possibly two) as Neil Templeton 36(5) just nudges past Neil B (Wiganers robbed twice in one week – who’d’ve thought!) to take this weeks £20. Well done Neil, the dilemma for you now is spending it on a ticket for Reading away or a nice trinket for your new house?
LA Galaxy :
…meanwhile down on StalyVegas, Danny Ashworth 11(0) will be fearful of being tarred & feathered by angry (snubnosed) locals for bringing shame to their hamlet.
Correct Score of the Week:
Everyone got Chelsea (for the 2nd week running) and Matt W / Neil B got Leicester 3 Coventry 0. This weeks score of the week goes to Lisa Grey for her loyal and very optimistic PNE 1 Man Citeh 3. Are you really here?
Bet Of The Week:
Stephen P racked his brains and gave us a 7-fold accumulator that was doomed before it even got started thanks to Mark Hughes inspired 10-0-0 formation…we limp into Week 4 £15 lighter in the pocket and look to Neil T to grab some back.
News:
Almost all the money is in now (thanks) – couple of things to mention… congrats to Karl C on the birth of his twins last month (we all know where your winnings will be going mate) and happy birthday to Mark J Brown who is now surely old enough to drop the “J” bit out of his name…

Week 3 table, Week 4 scoresheet and Quarter Final Cup draw to follow.

Cheers,
Pab

Spring Cup 2007 – Round 2 Results

Best Score:
Jamie Sellers 28 (4)
Best Score (with a joker):
Jamie Sellers 36 (4)
Worst Score:
Dave McSherry/Dan Rayner 14 (1)
Highest Loser:
Andy Chesworth 22 (3)
Lowest Winner:
Karl Chartres 21 (2)
Best Correct Score:
Steve Tagger / Jamie Sellers (Chelsea 4 Norwich 0) – honourable mention to: Matt W (Leicester 3 Coventry 0)
Would You Adam n Believe It?!:
We had a another draw! Dave McSherry and Dan Rayner decided to mirror Reading et al and put out the reserves (Mr 2-0) and ended in stalemate as Dave McS didn’t play his joker – replay, with the advantage to Dan R, next week. Croydon holds it’s breath…

Steve T and Jamie S have a late Shevchenko goal to thank for maximising their joker to 16 points.

Pam R keeps the flag flying for the laydees by knocking out Andy C in the Guardianista derby – and she could afford to score nil points with her Man Yoo joker…

Ben A is probably wishing he placed his joker on one of the Old Firm instead of Oldham as he crashed out to the lowest scoring winner, Karl C.

Draw for the Quarter Finals will take place directly after the FA Cup draw at 1:30pm on BBC2.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 3 – BotW

Currently £10 down – next up is Stephen P…

I am lobbing the whole lot (£5) on a 7 bet Accumulator. Home matches to win are – Smoggies, Chel$ki, Cardiff, Mackems, Oldham, Man Yoo & Rangers. Potential return would be £68.75 with price obtained from www.bluesq.co.uk. Get on it!

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£15.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 2

Mumm-Ra:
Another hefty week of big scores (maximum points available was 140) as the leading pack set a searing pace to the new season. Top score this week goes to Stephen Peaston 47(6) who must’ve had a great weekend considering he was at St James’s Park witnessing some scousers getting robbed (for a change!) – howay! Well done Stevie, £20 coming your way, I’d imagine you’ll be treating the missus to slap up stotties or something on Wednesday now…
Dadrock:
With a score to match her height, Donna “Brumchick” Edmead 13(0) slips to the bottom of the pile, and in a way, mirroring the Villa – you’re bad! (as in bad).
Correct Score of the Week:
Everyone got Chelsea, Aberdeen and Rangers (just to really bore me) Julian F/Olly O/Neil M got Hartlepool 3 Walsall 1 but no one got a really good unique score this week. Ho hum.
Bet Of The Week:
Ben A gave us a patriotic treble and probably wishes he’d waited until Steve Mac had announced his “team” as it was the football leg that let us down. If you were a seasoned gambler (i.e. you lose 90% of the time) however, you would have been wise to place it as three doubles, and that way get your money back! ;-) We’re now £10 down and looking to Stephen P to turn it round…
News:
Get your outstanding payments in please – some of you have been in touch and made arrangements, but I’ve still to hear from a few of you…

Table updates in full will start next week.

Week 3/Cup 2nd round scoresheet will be mailed round on Thursday after all the replays have been settled.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 2 – BotW

This is what we like to see, commitment, enthusiasm and bare faced optimism!

Ben A has come straight back at ya with Week 2’s wager…

I was thinking of an England treble to win the Cricket [best of 3], Football [England Spain] and Rugby [England Italy]?

What you waitin for? You’ll get best odds of around 16/1 for that little lot – remember the football part kicks off Wednesday evening.

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£10.

Spring 2007 : Cup Replay & L13 Week 1 Roundup

Derby Co :
The best week to win as it’s all free and easy from now on in. Ben Alder 54(9) will be in full agreement especially as he has opened a healthy 11 point lead thanks to a superb correct score ratio (nearly 33%!!). Well done Ben, £20 (you owed btw) towards your first visit to Anfield, surely another fiver will get you there and back from Gloucestershireness…
Sp*rs :
He ain’t heavy (I got that gene) and now I’m not so sure he’s related either. Julian Fernandez 11(0) brings shame to the whole of London (and bit of Hampshire) with his utterly mad take on score predicting. Go on, say Pompey will make it to Europe!
Correct Score of the Week:
Not that many to get, but lots of you snaffled up Sheff Wed 1 PNE 3 and Hibs 3 Gretna 1 and Andy C got a creditable Wolves 2 Plymouth 2. This week’s best correct score (and probably for the season!) goes to Greg Edwards for his 9 pointer, Livingston 1 Celtic 4
Bet Of The Week:
It was entrusted to our current champion and in time honoured tradition he’s gets us off on the back foot with his disastrous “Yokshire” treble (sic). We are £5 down and looking to Mr Alder to halt the slide in Week 2.
PAS Cup 1st Round Replay:
Matt Gingell 27 (3) – Jazz Sian 37 (6). Jazz moves on in unerring fashion to play Matt W away in the 2nd round.
News:
Get your outstanding payments in please – some of you have been in touch and made arrangements, but I’ve still to hear from a few of you…

Cheers,
Pab
