“We won’t let this slip”: Aside from a minor blip in week five, Mr Consistency has topped the table for five weeks and has kept both feet firmly planted on the ground to claim this seasons PAS crown.

Despite his best efforts to cause a final week upset Dan Hogwood finishes in second place [insert fix comments here], who was closely followed by another débutante Graham Entwistle. Beginners luck? We’ll have to find out next season!

A meagre point behind third was the Week 13 winner, Neil Templeton will be combing his 390 predictions to figure out where it got to. Dan Pelgrom closely followed in fifth followed by Scott Harrison and Paul Henshaw in seventh.

Gareth Morgan completed his redemption climbing from 65th to 8th in seven weeks. Jason Morris and Kate Hopper proved whilst form is temporary class is permanent by securing their second top ten finishes in as many seasons.

Commiserations to Jazz Sian who matched Kate point for point though was five correct scores off a top ten finish.

Unfortunately its been downhill for Francesca Fernandez 225(20) since Week 2 and the wooden spoon can take pride of place on the mantelpiece.

Pab does a phenominal amount of work to keep the competition running and he will understandably be taking a step back from this for a while. I speak for everybody when I say that our thoughts and best wishes are with Pab and his family.

“The Party Line”: After a week when where confusion reigned over who had exactly how many points, the eventual confirmed Week 10 winner decided to make a statement of intent. And he did. Producing an impressive stack of points that put him way out in front this week, Gareth Morgan 37 (6) becomes our first double weekly winner of the season to put to bed any asides of being a “jammy g*t who virtually took sweets from young lad’s mitt and left his dad to pick up the pieces…” Cold!

 

“Make You Better”: As little Frankie & myself gamboled around Casa Fernandez last week sniggering over Michelle F’s PAS performance last week I really didn’t feel the need to explain what schadenfreude meant. However, karma knows exactly what it means and duly felt retribution was in order. Up until the 79th minute on Monday night we had both failed to make double figures for the week. Then Bobby Zamora scored. Leaving Francesca Fernandez 7 (0) on her own. Mwahahaha…

“Give, Get, Take”: In a week when a third of all entrants scored 30 points or more it was always going to be tough to finish top of the pile. Two broke the 40 point mark, another four managed 43 points! Alas, it wasn’t enough as Jason Morris 49 (9) put together a super set of scores to help himself to this week’s £20. The fine form the “shady syndicate” are showing so far is threatening to take all your stake money at the end of the season. So fight back comrades!

 

“Slammer”: It’s tough being a Gooner lately, especially if you can’t even take pleasure in a Sp*rs fan only notching up a measly score of 11 (1).

And, although we couldn’t split second & third, ex-Pointless star Jon Tofeili 35 (7) was anything but as some celtic Jocks helped out a Geordie courtesy of an injury time goal! “Rocco”: Oooh it was a right ol’ ding-dong for top spot this week with the top three separated by just 3 points! And, although we couldn’t split second & third, everyone’s fave faux Scouser Alex Rossi 33 (5) dipped into that bin marked “last kick of the game goal from a hated rival” and netted this week’s £20! Well done lah, a score – not to be sniffed at…

 

“Let Down”: It’s dark(o) days being a Leeds fan at the moment so don’t be surprised if Dave Tagger 9(0) gives himself two more weeks before sacking himself or ditching that single vent purple mohair suit & selling that Vespa with 17 mirrors…

 

Correct Score of the Week: Another week of tip-top predicting – most popular score was Wolverhampton’s win in the principality of West Ridings – 23 of youse got that!

9 got the 0-0 at Firhill, 7 got Reading’s 3-0 v Blackpool and 7 more got WBA’s 2-2 against Palace.

5 got the 1-3 between Burnley & Everton & five more got “Desmond” in Ipswich.

Four got Sheff Wed 0 Norwich 0.

Rob C, Dan R & Eddie O got Bolton 3 – 1 Brentford and David G & Jon T somehow imagined West Ham beating Citeh 2-1!

James C & Arthur H landed the 5 pointer at Oakwell.

Neil C got Derby 1 Wigan 2 (much to the chagrin of our Dan H!) and James L had St Mirren 2 Ross County 2.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Carter for his 18 month Anfield wait, Liverpool 0 Hull 0.

Hola,

I’m sorry to report some sad news – my good friend & fellow PASer Felix Hines passed away on Saturday aged just 41. It was sudden and obviously a great shock to us all. I won’t bore you with tales of what we did & didn’t do but I will tell you he was a genuine top fella – cool, laid back (to point of being horizontal), wicked sense of humour and impeccable taste in music. He’ll be sorely missed…

Understandably, this weeks round up will be very low key but we’ll be back to normal next week – i’m gonna leave Felix in the standings as he wasn’t one for fuss or wailing or gnashing of teeth. Let’s hope Mr 2-0 gives him the send off he deserves…

“Had To Hear”: You’d think scoring 45 points would secure a weekly win wouldn’t you? But no, Neil O, it doesn’t. So, then you’d think getting 49(!) points would win you £20 yeah? Well no, actually, Kate H. It’s about being even better than that…

David Goggin 63 (9) pulled out the best weekly tally in PAS history to make his £10 intro entry stake seem like a very good investment indeed! Well done David, it’ll take some beating…

 

“Hostiles”: Oh dear! I think the time difference in Australia was playing havoc with Paul Carter 13 (0) as he brings shame to all Poms abroad. Get yeself on walkabout mate, clears the mind apparently…

 

Correct Score of the Week: Another round of fine predicting – most popular score was Spain’s win in the principality of Luxemborg – 26 of us got that!

19 got the 5-0 at Wemberlee, 10 got Norway’s 0-3 v Malta and 6(!!!) got Belgium’s 6-0 against Andorra.

Chris M (welcome!), Olly O & David N (welcome too!) got the 2-2 between Poland & Scotland.

Simon Linds & David G got Holland 3 Kazakhstan 1 (how?!)

David G (again!) & Francesca F got Republic of Ireland 7 Gibraltar 0.

Martin S (welcome back!) got Liechtenstein 0 Montenegro 0 and John H had Italy 2 Azerbaijan 1.

Wow! Quite a few correct scores knocking about (despite the mad scorelines)… most popular score was Leeds Utd’s 1-1 draw with Yorkshire rivals Sheff Wednesday – 23 of youse got that!

6 got the 1-1 in the Scottish Highlands derby and 6 got the “Desmond” between Forest & Ipswich.

5 got the 2-2 at Moulineux and Dave C, Arthur H & David N got another two-two between The Swans & The Toon.

Paul C & Paul V got the 3-1 involving Partick & Motherwell.

Anders H & Yours Truly just knew Millwall would draw 0-0 with Derby and Michelle F & Shashi A got a fine Leicester 2 Burnley 2.

Chris M & Paul V (again) got Aberdeen’s 9 point thriller at Dundee.

Alex R got Norwich 1 Rotherham 1.

Neil C got the 0-0 in Blackburn.

However, this week’s best correct score and therefore best correct of the season so far, goes to debutant Adhnan Zuel for his beginners-luck inspired, Brentford 3 Reading 1.
